Located in a quiet street, the rooms are cozy and comfortable with high quality bed linen and towels. There are nice teas, coffee and small treats. The garden with pool and veranda is lush and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and happy to assist.

I booked the last room available and probably therefore got the least nice one. It was street facing and overlooked the parking area. There was no door to the bathroom, hence no privacy if staying with two people. Because there is no bathroom door, the room was light in the early morning despite the blockout curtains in the bedroom. The breakfast was excellent but although I had notified the guesthouse that I am gluten free, there was no gluten free bread on the first day. This was however rectified on the second morning. I didn’t appreciate the dogs begging at the breakfast table every day.

I have stayed at 58 on Hume a number of times. It is an island of serenity close to the busy commercial hubs of Rosebank and Sandton, with many fine restaurants nearby. Michelle and her well-trained staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and quiet, and the breakfast is excellent. Importantly, the owners have taken all the steps necessary to counter the twin scourges of periodic power and water shortages that the city administrators have inflicted upon the inhabitants of Johannesburg, which makes for a very comfortable stay.

Outstanding breakfast. Great location. Security was solid with the guest-controlled gate clicker. Gym was simple but had everything I needed. Shower pressure excellent. Space/size generous. Brandy in the rooms was a lovely touch! I enjoy dogs so loved the guesthouse owner's dogs, but something to keep in mind.

A little expensive compared to other options in Joburg.

This has been my fifth or sixth stay at this establishment and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is set in a quiet leafy suburb yet very close to the bustling shopping and dining precinct of Rosebank. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished and the breakfast is excellent. Michelle and her team deserve the compliments they get. Importantly, the management has installed solar power and a generator to overcome the problem of loadshedding that besets the city.

My goodness this place is INCREDIBLE. It's a 40 room mansion that now has 10 guest bedrooms. I did have the best suite but it was really pretty cheap to be honest, and absolutely enormous. Every single thing was delightful and perfect. All the furnishings, the bar, the lounge, the bathroom (has a spa bath), towels, bed (so cosy, loved it) were outstanding. There were luxury touches everywhere that I had never seen in accomodation before, flowers, a wonderful (small) gym, the pool and garden are ridiculously beautiful. The wifi was great, the staff were so helpful and not intrusive. You get to order whatever you want for breakfast, and I'm sure the dinner would also be wonderful (although I went out to Fishmongers for dinner and that was sublime). The owner was always available and super fun and friendly and accomodating, and just so genuine. She helped me with buying shoes, finding a good barber, booking dinner.

I loved everything. I felt like a prince.

Gorgeous property, fabulous staff. Nothing is too much trouble for Michelle and her team, who make this a true home from home. The breakfast and the home cooked evening meals are delicious. The room is big and comfortable, and is provisioned with everything you could possibly need. Absolutely fabulous.

We had 3 weeks in South Africa at a range of wonderful places, but the hospitality at 58 on Hume was second to none. Michelle was considerate and extremely helpful. The venue is also nicer than the photo's imply which was a pleasant surprise - great big patio by the pool for relaxing, double volume entrance area and possibly the largest walk-in robe we have ever seen - just all together excellent. The bedding also has a top sheet, blanket and duvet giving you all the temperature options - something we really appreciate.

There appeared to be an issue with the aircon when we were there, but it didn't really impact us with very pleasant weather. Fans provided were more than adequate.

I loved my stay. SPacious sunlight apt with a balcony. I restored in the sun and full immersion in nature. The staff is adorable and the breakfast was lovely. I thoroughly recommend this place for anyone traveling solo or in a couple. Suitable for work trips top, great wifi

There were no bad aspects to the property. I felt right at home. Michell and the staff were great. The place exceeed my expectations. I will return!

Everything! Michelle and her team looked after us so well. The room had everything we needed and the bed was extremely comfortable. We relaxed by the pool after a hectic trip to Zimbabwe and it was the perfect spot to recharge before travelling back home to the UK. We didn't leave until 2pm but Michelle was in no rush to get us out of the room. We will return!
