Everything! We were pleasantly surprised by this property. The location was superb and we saw a very nice sunset right from the very picturesque pier that extended out to the water. The grounds were nicely manicured and there was even a nice bonsai garden. The swimming pool was awesome and very nicely done. We decided to upgrade our room to a King Superior (#22) which was also on the second floor and offered a view of the water as a result. We were blown away by this room as it was HUGE (over 700 sq. ft.) and also had a large screened-in porch. The owner, Linda, was very nice as was everyone working there that we encountered. Alisha at the front desk was awesome and very cheery and pleasant throughout our stay. The free use of kayaks was also a nice bonus even though we didn't get a chance to use them. The free roaming Iguanas also added a nice tropical touch and were fun to watch!

The appearance of the front entrance was a bit of a turn-off when we first arrived in the parking lot but our view quickly changed once we went to the back of the property and saw how beautiful it was. They are also in the process of fully renovating several rooms and I'm sure that the front entrance will be included as well at some point. Other than that, I can't think of anything that we didn't like.

Quick and friendky check-in. Helpful on-site staff. Good standard of cleanliness. Fabulous waterfront view and nice sun and sea-bathing area.

Smell - strong and unpleasant 'air freshener' aroma left me wondering what smell it was attempting to mask! Window blinds - none correctly sized or fitting in the main sitting room, which compromised privacy after sunset with our interior lights on There were a number of small things which, if mentioned in isolation, would make me appear petty to any reader (which I'm not) but taken together with the two points above, really made me feel I had paid 4☆ prices for 3☆ accommodation - hence the low value for money rating..

The resort is amazing. Our apartment was very big and comfy, with everything that we might have needed, including cuttlery, plates, coffee machine, etc. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The personal was very helpful and friendly. They have a nice pool in the middle and a very nice pier with an amazing view and the possibility to swim in the bay and see the sunset. We even saw dolphins! The whole resort is very cute, including the bonsai collection <3 They don't have a bar but they sell water and soft drinks and there's a gas station right in front where you can buy a couple of beers to enjoy the sunset even more.

The location of the Rock Reef Resort was ideal for our excursions. The staff was very accomodating our request for laundry service. The pool facilities were very nice for a little dip in the afternoon and we were able to move around the umbrella to remain shaded. Very happy that we were located on the ground floor and did not have to go up and down stairs.

The facility was a little dated without any food or beverage service. Room cleaning was not daily. The staff did replenish any towels or anything else quickly via a service bin.

We stayed in the Beach Villa. It was just as described, I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it is only a 2 star, but my family of 4 had a very comfortable stay. There were 2 air con units one in the bedroom and another in the lounge. A fridge freezer which meant we could stock up at the supermarket for drinks and icecreams. We didn't use the cooking facilities though but they looked fine. The sea water at the end of July is like having a warm bath. It was lovely to swim in and so we didn't use the pool.There are 4/5 kayaks to borrow which you can book for an hour slot and they lend you the bounancy aids too.The rails around the villas veranda made it easy to dry towels and swimwear. There are sun loungers to use on the grass area next to the beach although we didn't manage more than 10 minutes in the heat. The pontoon has a great view of the sunset and if lucky you can spot dolphins. We enjoyed seeing all the wild iguanas and lizards which are plentiful. During our stay we enjoyed a snorkeling and sandbar trip with clearly unique, key largo princess glass bottom boat trip, feeding the Tarpon at Robbie's of Islamorada. A private trip on the everglades with Miami Everglades connection.

Nothing we had a great time. My favourite area we visited.

Location was just across the street from the boatyard that we were doing business with. The sandy beach was small but there were plenty of lounge chairs. The bed was too hard for me, but many people like hard mattresses.

We found out after we checked in that we needed to stay in Key Largo another night but they told us our room would not be available, we would have to move to another room and pay more. As we had to move our stuff out, we checked into another resort just a few yards down the road which turned out to be even nicer and a better price. September is off season and there are lots of vacancies.

This stay was a last minute relocation to avoid hurt Milton in 2024. We had a large room with one wall of kitchen! First floor, overlooking the pool. We met so many displaced folks and everyone was super friendly. I would definitely consider this inn when “planning” a trip to the keys. Never forget the privately run inn’s of America! A super important travel option & this one is a winner!!

Tiny issue, my husband loves to fish. Dry tackle,catch & release I understand why fishing is not allowed at the beach. Just a tease for my husband.

The resort has a unique truly retro vibe from the 1960s, although it's been updated and renovated. Loved the outdoor spaces, including the Zen garden, tiki hut on the bay, and loungers in front of the water. The staff were among the friendliest and most helpful that I've experienced. The sunsets were inspiring! Loved that many of the guests had been coming back to the hotel for over 15 years. I was delighted to meet the owner (and her dog!) who spends much time on site

The shower water was only lukewarm.

The resort is well maintained and clean, the staff is super fiendly and always willing to assist customers. The little beach is awsome and the kayak was superb. It is really a family-friendly resort. I definitely will be coming back by mid June.

I had requested a crib for my 1-year-old baby boy, but the crib provided was not in good condition. However, as the room had 2 beds my son slept. very comfy on one of the bed against the wall cushioned with pillows.

Great location - straight across the road to a gem of a restaurant, straight across the road to a great coffee/breakfast shop & a 2 minutes walk to a service station which sold all essentials. Nice grounds with lovely outlook & jetties towards the ocean and sunset. Plenty sun loungers, picnic tables, chairs to enjoy the sunset. Clean secure fenced pool area. Kayaks and pedalo also available for guests to use free of charge. Beach towels provided.

Temperature of the pool was too warm for a refreshing dip, but I prefer colder water; We stayed on the ground floor and were awoken by guests rising early above us - we could hear them walking around - not sure that the property's claim of sound proofed rooms is accurate.
