The Queen Victoria Hotel welcomed us with the utmost luxurious experience. The hotel staff greeted us by our family names each time they saw us creating a bespoke experience one would look for in a 5 star hotel. Arriving at the hotel, I was greeted with warm chai tea on a cold Cape Town winters night. In our room was a beautiful display of petit fours, the mini brownies were delicious. I highly recommend having an aperitif at their bar, a menu full of bespoke cocktails to choose from, followed by dinner at the restaurant. If you are planning to have dinner in the city, request a taxi pick up from the reception. I also found myself at the Spa, an absolute treat.

The proximity to the V&A Waterfront makes the property an excellent choice for most travelers, since they’ll be able to have a vast array of options at their fingertips. Additionally, the property itself is very elegant, the breakfast offers variety of savory and sweet foods, and the room was spacious, with a very comfortable king-sized bed. Finally, the staff is kind, with a positive attitude and ready to help. Top notch service!

Nothing. Everything was magnificent. We stayed in the executive suite and I believe there is just one point which I recommend for improvement: lighting control. Since the room has many lights and switches, it’s hard to figure out how to turn off and on any given light. Some labeling or a light control panel could make the experience even more enjoyable.

We stayed here for our first 4nights of our honeymoon in South Africa and it could not have been any more perfect. We stayed in the junior suite. The moment we arrived we received a very strong friendly welcome. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only a couple short steps from the centre of the V&A so location was ideal. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety for all. The room was very spacious, extremely clean and we had a fantastic view of the table top mountain. Highly recommend a stay here.

Great alternative to the larger hotels in Johannesburg and highly recommend. I booked this for some very senior global executives who are used to staying in luxury hotels around the world and they absolutely loved staying here. The service, staff, rooms and location were perfect. They even said the next time they are in Johannesburg; forego the large hotel chains and they will happily come back here to stay.

Well maintained beautiful quiet property. Breakfast was wonderful with buffet and the option to order from the menu. Room was fantastic, we stayed in the executive suite. Staff were helpful and attentive. We did a 2 day tour with Marvel tours, it was amazing.

Confusing as they have a sister hotel across the street, the Victoria and Albert. Some of the photos shown are off the sister hotel. You can use the sister facility for breakfast.

Great location for the waterfront, large and comfortable room, very good food - huge and sumptuous breakfast, good light lunch menu and very good dinner. Above all, the staff were outstanding. Great service, always with a smile. Haven't experienced that in Europe or even the US for a very long time.

Virtually nothing. The TV channels were very few and the signal wasn't great; but we weren't there to watch TV. Our room had no view to speak of; but we were out and about all of the time so that didn't matter. Bed was huge, which is good; but on the firm side

The staff are amazing and everyone was so nice! I especially loved Lllewelyn and Tariq who were super helpful.. They had a way of just making everything happen. Very helpful. The facilities are first class...out of this world. It was amazing. I was actually sad when my stay ended.

The house keeping staff on some days could have done a slightly better job. But overall, they were great.

The service at the Queen Victoria is exceptional. I am not saying this lightly since I have had the privilege to stay at hotels all over the world. The staff are just superb, at breakfast, the bar, the front desk. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are organized, friendly beyond belief and huge fun. The sun shines even brighter when you enter the breakfast area and you’re greeted by ‘Carol’! It is rare to see someone so devoted to her guests and so skilled in her job! A true gem!

Check in was seamless and efficient. Location was superb. Breakfast was excellent. All staff that we had interaction with were exceptionally friendly and willing to assist.

There was no directory and the speed dials on the internal phone had not been programmed for say Reception, Housekeeping etc. There was supposed to be a least one QR code available for directory and facility purposes but there were none. It seemed that the room may have recently been refurbished etc, with this / these aspects having been omitted in error.

Fantastic location and outstanding breakfast. Suite was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Views of Table Mountain are outstanding!

One or two items in the room breeze a bit of maintenance. Door to room 1205 was stiff and the wardrobe doors didn’t close readily. All relatively minor!
