The breakfast was pretty bad, my avo toast was a really small portion and not as described on the menu. The presentation was also very boring. My partner’s eggs were very raw.

perfect location! situated on the front line of the main avenue, perfectly walkable to the water front and the bar street right in the center. great for waking up in the morning and going for a nice jog in! very friendly reception staff but Claudio was SPETACULAR! the girls at the bar were friendly but not very available and awkward! they were intimidated but they were nice! very easy parking and they even let us park the car in the garage! Overall, it met our expectations well.

we didn't like that the room didn't have a window. when we booked the room it does not say that it does not have a window but in the pictures of the room we selected it did! if we heard we would have asked for another room! bed the mattress is not the most comfortable. but overall very good! excellent modern room TV, new and modern bathroom just missing the window! what we didn't like at all was that in Kenya lunch the situation is a bit ridiculous! we ordered a nice avocado toast (it was great) and two milk stains but if we wanted anything else we had to pay! we asked for water we had to pay! we ordered two espressos we had to pay! we understood that we could only choose one thing from the menu but l water, coffee and fruit we thought it would be the minimum for the amount paid!

I was disappointed at first because Valentino offered me no menu and was very deceptive about the food ingredients. Hence, Valentino tried to serve me spaghetti, when I ordered penne. Besides Valentino’s poor service on the first day, the entire staff made up for his mistakes with their stellar performances. I love the dog too! Overall, the staff, environment and amenities are like staying in a luxurious mansion. It is the best hotel that I have ever resided in my entire life. That says a lot because I am very well travelled. Sugar Hotel is so exceptional, that it shames the local hotels in Cape Town, South Africa.

When I checked in, I was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who ensured I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the quiet room, comfortable bed and pillows, which gave me a good night's sleep. The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and shops. I especially enjoyed the on-site restaurant, which served a delicious breakfast. Overall, I had an excellent stay at the Sugar Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, and I cannot wait to return. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Would have been better if they had a generator to avoid the loadshedding.

Lovely boutique hotel with a great restaurant ( and a small treatment area which I didn’t use - also a splash pool on our terrace which looked up to Table Mountain The staff were excellent both during our stay and with any queries beforehand answered quickly and courteously. Its a 15 minute walk from the Waterfront where there are loads of shops and restaurants and also the Red Bus hoho - great for seeing Table Mountain and the whole peninsula. It is spotlessly clean with a really comfortable bed and highly recommended for a stay in Cape Town

The reception staff were excellent. So friendly and helpful. Location was good. Close to V&A. Many restaurants in walking distance. Nice coffee machine. Nice soaps, shampoo etc

The breakfast was tasty but a bit cold one day. The patio couches were left covered, and the uncovered 2 didn't have cushions on them. . The patio would be nice to sit on in the late afternoons but was closed.

2nd time I have stayed there which is a recommendation by itself, and again not disappointed. Rooms are very spacious, big bathroom and excellent shower. Location near to the V&A is excellent with just a 10 min walk away. Porch bar area is nice, this is also where breakfast is served. Partner took the opportunity to use the in house massage service (additional cost) and was very happy with the service

bedroom furniture is a bit tired and needs a refresh (however, functional) Kitchen area - Refurbishment signs were there on last visit so they really need to get on and finish - but again no detrimental effect on the area

Spatious air-conditioned room and bath room. There always was a solution to park the car either on their private parking lot (2 spaces, first come first served) or in front of the door (leaving the key at the 24 hour reception). Location is close from most places in Cape Town with Uber. Breakfast was nice with very friendly service.

A generator would have been even better during load shedding, but in all honesty not many places have it (yet).
