This cozy house-turned-B&B is a great affordable option in the winter. The rooms are well-stocked with coffee, biscuits, and shampoo/soaps. When it was cold out, the owner had a fire going in the living room and the bed had an electric blanket. The breakfast was phenomenal with lots of different options. And the laundry service was impeccable and quick.

The neighborhood isn't as walkable as I'd like, and doesn't have much in the way of restaurants/cafes. I have no complaints about the B&B itself, but will mention for the sake of other Americans who might not be used to non-US sized lodging that the rooms are on the small side.

LOVED THE ATMOSPHERE! The hostess with the mostest. Breakfast were perfect in every aspect Denise was extremely helpful and even drove us around Denise advised best places to shop for food and general items. Very peaceful and quiet.

Having to leave was very sad. It was winter and cold - not anyone’s fault but we hate cold, rooms were heated and electric blankets saved the day

We had an incredible stay with Denise and Phoebe the cat. Everyday began with a breakfast at Denise's breakfast table where we shared stories and sighed about poltics or learned new things about the area's archaeological digs. Denise is a lovely, well-informed, easygoing and hospitable person. She took a lot of trouble to suggest things that we'd enjoy and things we should look out for. Even her other guests were warm and gracious and friendly. The rooms are simply delightful, very comfortable and well-equipped. The area is in a high-security neighborhood. Outside the room is a couple of tables and chair as well as the patio area you see in the picture if you just want to chill and read a book. I think the best part is that Denise relies on water tanks and solar energy, so there is no fear of load shedding or water cuts to dampen your stay. I think I could happily stay a month or more at such a comfortable place. And Denise let us use her garage to park our rental car so we weren't worried about it either.

Everything was perfect.

Great B&B in Melville. The room was very nice, everyrhing was clean and well thought out. The bathroom was very small but every corner had been used. Denise is a very friendly and outgoing host. She was always there for us and we had amazing talks whole breakfast in the morning

The bathroom was very small and the sink has been a little bit tricky because if its tiny size. But this is really a "high level" complaint. We loved our stay and would recommend it to others.

Friendly staff, breakfast was excellent. Bed comfortable. Room size was just right. We were lucky as we had a lovely balcony to sit on. There is a garage to park your car and a cute resident cat. The suburb is quite central and don't forget the cat charity shop close by.

The stairs was the only challenge as our one suitcase was quite heavy.

I liked how the property was so big, spacious, and had a lot of green spaces. I loved the dining room table and how it reminded me of a castle in a Disney movie. The overall setup of the property was top notch.

Absolutely nothing honestly.

The property is a home and Denise is a wonderful host. She offers a lovely, nutritional breakfast and all essential facilities for a super comfortable stay. The location was also great as I felt safe and I was surrounded by good restaurants and a big mall. It was perfect for me.

Denise was a wonderful host, extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large, well appointed and extremely clean. I stayed two nights and the room cleaning the second day was extremely good. The parking was in a secure garage with battery backup on the garage door. Breakfast was excellent. I will definitely stay here again.

The only possible improvement would be if the wi-fi had been on battery backup during load shedding. However, Denise said that her UPS batteries had just died and needed replacing so I imagine this was just a temporary condition.

Our stay at Denise’s B&B is one of the best vacation stays I’ve had in my life. Great location, lovely atmosphere, fantastic breakfast, comfertable rooms, wonderful balcony views etc. The list goes on and on. Denise is an exceptional host and she really makes all her guests feel welcomed. We decided to book another two nights here since we had such a good time. Would highly recommend

We had a lovely stay at Denise B&B. Her place is really nice, quiet and clean, well located. Cold and hot breakfast for all tastes and appetite. She made herself available to organise a shuttle at our airport arrival, that made things really easy for us. She gave us good advices to see Johannesburg and South Africa.
