It was near the casino and very central to Fourways, Sandton and westrand. Great restaurants in the neighborhood. A young, beautiful yuppy minimalistic hotel. Thanks God there was a very well functioning and silent type of air conditioning

Pls be more transparent about the fact that you have no elevator. Had to call reception for an iron with my cell phone…. Not ideal for long couple stays.

I recently had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. First and foremost, the affordability was a huge plus, especially given the excellent location. It was within walking distance to many great restaurants, which made dining out incredibly convenient. One of the main issues was the limited closet space. There was very little room to hang clothes, and the hangers provided were positioned too high. This caused my clothes to drape over the shelf below, which was quite inconvenient. For anyone staying more than a day or two, this could be frustrating, as it leaves little room for proper organization. Additionally, this hotel may not be ideal for older guests or those with mobility concerns. If your room is not on the ground floor, you’ll need to climb stairs, which could pose a challenge. Unfortunately, this made it less accessible and comfortable for some travelers. Overall, while the hotel has its charms, these practical issues detracted from the overall experience.

Look for what you pay its an absolute steal. Massive value for money and the staff are so friendly. We have never stayed 2 star before but the property exceeded cleanliness and upkeep to what we have seen in other properties like The Maslow Menlyn Maine Zenith or even The Palace in Sun City. It is super well decorated and you very quickly forget that there is no lift or escalator. Bathroom was lovely with great water pressure and warm water throughout.

The check-in process was a little different from the other hotels on the property. There was quite a bit of back-and-forth, and we were in the wrong area, which led to a 'where do we park' situation.

I was impressed with the hotel and the room. Yes the rooms are small, but it's fresh and modern, so you feel comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than a normal cheap hotel, so that was nice! I was on the ground floor (which I requested after reading reviews about no lift), so luggage was no issue with there being no lift. Staff were friendly and very helpful. It was great to be able to walk to Monte Casino and feel safe. All in all a nice hotel, and I would stay there again.

The property and the surroundings are beautiful and quiet too. It is also closer to the restaurants at Monte Casino, the walk is really not long too. The room space is likely enough for 1 person or a loving couple because the space is so compact.

The wooden floors are a bit loud for light sleepers. You can hear someone walking down the passage from your room. Also in the morning there were delivery trucks but that was not much of an interruption.

It's a nice and convenient hotel at a great price...maybe the rooms too small for couples who want a long holiday and relaxation but for a stopover I think it's excellent, especially for the very good location, access to the whole Montecasino complex facilities and the low price. No frills like water, closets and fridges in the room etc. but for the price maybe understandable. If I need a quick stayover in Fourways it is now definitely my place to go

I read the reviews so I knew what to expect so I don't have anything to criticize about the hotel

The hotel was great. I can appreciate the exceptional service from everyone from the front desk, to security. The aesthetic of the hotel was really beautifully unique.

The room was really small, uncomfortably so especially considering how different it looked on the photos we saw. In addition, it was a bit of an inconvenience to have to leave the premises to get breakfast. The room service options were decent but I just didn't like having to commute into Monte for decent breakfast at Mugg & Bean.

I booked for the wrong night and the staff were so kind as to rebook me and still in a room facing Montecasino instead of the highway. It was a great stay for a short business trip and very easy to walk over to Montecassino to grab some dinner. The room was really clean, comfortable and perfect for my stay. Even had a nice view.

I do wish there was breakfast offered at the hotel and Montecassino itself doesn't have great options either.

I travelled to JHB for business every two weeks last year and stayed at Hotel Perte every time. I will be doing the same again every two weeks this year. The hotel is very conveniently located to my offices in Fourways, and as a woman travelling alone, it provides me with a location that is safe and within extremely easy walking distance to restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff always very friendly.

It is difficult for Uber drivers and fast food delivery drivers to locate the hotel as it does not come up as a location on Uber. I usually pin drop the closest point to the hotel and then have to write written instructions to the drivers to describe how to get to the hotel from that point but often times they still struggle to locate the hotel on their tracking devices.

Location was amazing, could walk to the various Montecasino attractions multiple times as needed. Reception responded to my query about check in times within a good amount of time; could check in early / leave bags at reception while watching a 2PM movie. Double room beds were moveable - could push the bed used by the children against a wall to prevent them from rolling off :) You also get a discount at the bird gardens if you a hotel guest!

Breakfast options - places to eat in Montecasino only open at 8, and no restaurant / breakfast buffet at the hotel. Bars near the hotel closed earlier than the official hours. Coffee station not really stocked for 2 people if you both want the same tea TV channels very limited
