going for years

we booked two rooms my business parter got to her room after check in to find room not cleaned and wine bottle standing around. she was given another room which we think they never updated on the system which led to her been woken up by someone coming into her room ar 01:00 the morning- imagine the horror and fright. she got dressed and went down stairs to say someone just came in her room. Upon that the reception said it was him and he did not know she was there….

The location and the layout of the hotel and our suite.

The personnel were too loud in the mornings that they woke us up on both mornings and don’t consider the fact that guests are sleeping at 07:00 in the morning.

It's very quiet and professional. There are no ladies of the night hanging around the reception which is the cade now with a lot of sandton hotels. The rooms are lovely and gardens pretty.

Only thing I would say is if they would upgrade their pillows to different densities. A lot of hotels have 4 pillows of different density on the bed.

The staff are always so helpful, and we always feel like it's a home away from home. As with our previous stay, we enjoyed the convenience of it's location, minutes from Sandton, as well as the comfort and spaciousness of the rooms.

There was a mix up with the room we had booked , vs the one we got. However it was resolved by a very helpful staff member. Thank you. The air conditioner in the room is faulty, and although they tried to fix it, the problem persisted. It dripped water onto the carpet below it.

The place was one of the most amazing places in Joburg and the staff were very friendly and helpful.If I came back to Joburg no doubt I'll stay there again. My appreciation to all the staff of the hotel.

There was a misunderstanding about the number of my family members, but they sorted it out professionally after I showed them my booking details.

We loved our second stay at the Quatermain as it is conveniently located, and feels like a home away from home. We love being able to sit on our patio, overlooking the pool, and have a coffee. The superior rooms are spacious, and have everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful, and go out of there way to to help you. Room service is efficient and tasty.

The aircon in our room was dripping water, and will rot the carpet soon, if not fixed properly. The bathrooms, although big, spacious and adequate, will need a modernisation and revamp sometime.

A quiet little oasis in Johannesburg with lovely courtyard gardens and comfortable clean rooms. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is a short taxi ride from most places in Sandton and the surrounding area and there is small mall with almost all you'll need around the corner.

Some of the night staff were not helpful or proactive at all. At times there seemed to be a lot of staff hanging around doping nothing. Also barf staff could be better trained.

The place is amazing and staff is very welcoming. The hotel provides a vintage look in which I like and my room was a lot spacious than I thought it would be. The staff helped cater to needs without giving attitude so I appreciate that very much.

The only problem I had was the Wi-Fi and the TV. The Wi-Fi connection is was very slow or even loses connection and with the TV wishing they installed a TV box so it would be possible to watch Netflix and other streaming services.

This hotel felt like a home away from home. We had a beautiful large room, with a desk, as well as two armchairs.The bathroom was large, and had both a bath and shower. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, and had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. As my husband had to do some work while we were there, the room was ideal. Internet was free, and there was a bar fridge in the room. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and responded to our requests immediately. It will definitely be a place we will use for future visits to Johannesburg.

We loved everything about the hotel especially the well manicured gardens . The hotel also gave me some cake and a bottle of wine as a birthday treat .It was a very nice touch !!!! If you're looking for a place where you can unwind then this is the place !

Our room was still getting cleaned at check in (1500hrs) however we were changed to a different room after waiting for about 15 minutes.It would have been nice to have been given complimentary drinks or snacks whilst they sorted the mix up .
