The room was great, comfortable and well provided. I did not manage to get around to breakfast, but dinner was always perfect. The guest services (room service, laundry etc.) are also faultless. As for the location, even for myself (having to walk with a stick and stopping frequently) it was perfect for my needs. Easy access to the Sandton Mall, shops and banks, plus the bonus of similarly easy access to Mandela Square and the various restaurant choices there. I will be back next year........

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sandton and Sun towers, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that attention to detail and guest comfort were top priorities. The cleanliness was impeccable—the rooms were spotless, with fresh linens, well-maintained facilities, and a welcoming, calming ambiance. The location was another highlight. Being so close to Sandton was incredibly convenient, making it easy to access shopping, dining, and business hubs. The food was a true standout. Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The variety and quality exceeded my expectations, catering well to a range of tastes. Lastly, the overall aesthetics of the property were just perfect. The interiors were elegant yet inviting, and there were thoughtful touches everywhere, creating a sense of warmth and sophistication. In summary, this stay combined exceptional food, pristine cleanliness, a prime location near Sandton, and delightful aesthetics. I can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a seamless and enjoyable experience.

However, one issue did impact my stay: the Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, it was consistently unreliable, frequently dropping out. As someone who needed to work remotely, this posed significant challenges, and I ended up relying on tethering from my mobile phone, which incurred an additional cost. For a property of this caliber, a stable and fast internet connection should be a given, especially for business travelers.

Only one blight in our experience - a rude waitress in the San Restaurant at breakfast who gave us overtly differential treatment to a Caucasian family and when confronted on why they weren't subject to the same security checks that we were, she made up an obvious lie which she was immediately exposed on but doubled down with another lie. The shift supervisor did damage control and all was otherwise well.

I loved the safety factor and that there are guards everywhere. I loved that the hotel is connected to the mall so you don't need to venture outside if you don't want to.

When we arrived, we requested a shuttle from the hotel. They sent their shuttle, which they organised, and we were received by a lady who wrote our name in a Marker pen on a slanted scrap of A4 paper. We were even wondering if this was a scammer. When we got to the van, there was no name to indicate that it was affiliated with the hotel. We were quite afraid. The shuttle apparently is a company that the hotel uses on the side, but they were disorganised and unprofessional in receiving us. The driver, though, was great, although we put our GPS on to check that we were not being kidnapped. It sounds dramatic, but we are not about to take chances in Johannesburg. Small other item, which wasn't a big problem - the shower was super leaky.

The location was great, straight connection to Sandton City Mall. You can even go for walks after hours and you’ll feel safe. I was charged a different price at the property from what it showed on Booking, the staff said she will handle it at check out. Then we realized that she charged us twice for parking, we paid cash for the original payment. We returned to the front desk but the staff who helped us wasn’t there. The lady who helped us understood us clearly and handled it well straight away, not asking us to wait till check out.

We had breakfast in the room. The breakfast we received is different from what we’ve ordered… for example we ordered fried egg, scrambled eggs came. We just wanted one plate of fruits, 2 plates came. I suggest the staffs fixing the breakfast should read the breakfast card carefully to avoid customer’s disappointments.

The property was clean, smelled lovely, and perfectly located for our needs. It’s directly connected to the shopping mall with easy indoor access to Nelson Mandela Square until midnight. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast consisted of a wonderful variety of fresh whole foods, exotic fruits and pastries. We also enjoyed ordering off the warm menu and savouring our generously portioned and delicious dishes. The dinner menu is somewhat limited, but that should only be an issue if you’re planning to stay more than a few nights. As it was, we were both highly satisfied with our meals. The staff is very attentive and everyone ensured that we had a wonderful stay and celebration. The hotel also accommodated a special request to make our anniversary celebration that much more special. We are planning to come back with the whole family.

There were some issues with the drainage in the bathroom sink, which resulted in an unpleasant smell. Other than that, no complaints.

the location was suitable for my work. the access to the mall was very good for us. the room was comfortable, even though the TV was a bit small for us to see from the bed. not critical !!

the reception demanded that we pay up front and i am not used to such a demand. i travel a lot and my cc is accepted as security and then i pay prior to us checking out. the receptionist claimed that the wifi will be free but only for two instruments. this is very unusual to me , but the duty manager phoned and corrected this very quickly. the two hotels adjacent to each other causes confusion. the address for the tower hotel was incorrect.

The whole stay was spectacular! What a way to be ushered into 2025!!!! Nomvula at the reservations desk welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The restaurant manager at San Deck was on point, plus the surprise DJ had the guests, hugging each other at midnight like long lost relatives 😆. Our waitress Tshedza catered for all our needs on a very busy NYE. Rooms were spotless and spacious. Breakfast was on point. The breakfast hostesses definitely know how to manage a crowd! We will be back Sandton Sun!

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the mall and other key sites in Jhb. The best thing was the staff, specifically Lesedi at the front desk who went all out to meet our needs and was especially attentive and made our stay unforgettable. She heard us mention we got married and she organised the most thoughtful romantic set up in our room. This was so thoughtful and it’s things like this that make customers feel valued. I am sure she spoke to numerous people that day and yet we felt like the only guests.

It was a bit run down, the staff however confirmed that the hotel will be renovated in the coming days.

The location was excellent because I was attending a conference at the sandton convention centre, very convenient. The wardrobe and other storage was not enough for a week so my clothes were mostly in the suitcase, it’s enough for one person but not two. Cleaning needs a bit more effort, e.g. my bin was not emptied sometimes. Otherwise a good property but starting to show its age.

More storage needed and better cleaning. Staff otherwise very friendly, especially the waiters / waitresses at breakfast. They must keep it up!
