Yeah, first time hostel and they have set the bar really high for me. I loved the owners so much, they are really nice people so the place really made me feel at home. You’re being put into a Whatsapp group chat with the other residents, and someone is always in the mood for sightseeing, dinner etc. So you can always join someone! The staff will also text you (privately or in the group) for recommendations nearby, but you can always ask for it if it’s not on the list. The location was perfect. Not too crowded but still close to Hongdae (walking distance). I’ve met so many people from all over the world and I had a blast! Thank you for everything!

Brian and Jinah are incredible and kind hosts! Each day they provide information about things to do, can answer many questions (they pointed me to a great spa when my back hurt), and create a safe and welcoming environment. The bedding is warm and comfortable and the room is cleaned daily by the hosts. The bathroom shower and toilet have doors for privacy as well. Laundry is offered and so is breakfast each morning (cereal, clementines, apples, milk, orange juice, eggs, coffee). The location is also perfect! Easy walk to Hongdae's busiest areas, convenience stores and coffee shops next door, and the bus and trains just minutes away. The middle school across the street also made me feel safe because it is a more residential area. There were many travelers from across the globe, and people are happy to spend time and talk to one another. My trip was even better because of this. I thought I would be solo travelling, but a roommate and I went out and from there we kept meeting new people! Zzzip made my stay comfortable and safe, and also showed me places I would not have discovered and helped me create friendships across the globe.

I've stayed in countless hostels worldwide, and the owners Jina and Bryan are genuinely passionate about creating a fun and exciting atmosphere for everyone who comes through. The hotel's layout is cozy and inviting, facilities are clean, newer and well taken care of, and they foster a very social atmosphere. Where other places will shill bars and restaurants for kickbacks, or push you into Westernized touristy areas, they have tailored entire lists of places to visit and experience not just in Seoul, but throughout Korea and beyond. This is not to say that they tolerate or excuse poor behavior, so those looking for a place to get wasted and cause problems for others should seek alternate accommodations (and perhaps reevaluate life choices). It is a rare and treasured opportunity to meet people that exude authentic kindness and hospitality, and I will most certainly be returning.

The location was excellent - close to all restaurants and nightlife/train station. The facilities and free breakfast were good. But what really sets this hostel apart from the rest that I have stayed with is the involvement of the hosts - very chilled, friendly and helpful. Offered recommendations in person and in the group chat on WhatsApp. The atmosphere was very family like and the common room and group chat was very sociable. Easy to meet new people and make dinner plans or activities during the day. Overall, I would highly recommend for solo travellers. Thanks Jina, Bryan and Jay and the rest of the ZZZIP guesthouse team. Your efforts are appreciated!

N/A But privacy curtains would have been nice

This hostel is one of my favourites from my trip in Asia. The staff are absolutely amazing. Plus free coffee, close to the metro, and laundry! The vibe and atmosphere of this hostel feels like home away from home, it’s a small hostel with a community vibe, everyone is helpful and it’s immediately comfortable. Also it’s right near the bars and university area, so people are going out together. An awesome place to meet people and enjoy the city

The dorm rooms don’t have curtains or much privacy but I’d give that up to stay here again because of how great the atmosphere is

Lovely communal vibe. There's a group chat where people post what they're up to in case others want to join. Most nights there's a dinner group going out. It's still easy to do your own thing, if you prefer that. Run by a professional and friendly small group of staff. They took me through the popular attractions and maps when I checked in. Comfortable, compact rooms with modern bathrooms. Not a party hostel. They don't mind guests having a good time but they're firm that social guests should take themselves closer to the shops after 11pm. Met lots of returning guests there. They loved it so much before that they made sure to come back.

Jina and his partner are the greatest hosts you can find in Seoul. They make you feel right at home and you can see they love what they do. When you arrive they will give you tons of instructions and recommendations. Also, they will add you to a WhatsApp group so you can get in touch with other people staying in the hostel, which I think is an amazing idea. The accommodation is greatly located, in an area with easy access to the metro. The beds are confiable and everything is clean. Would totally come here again in my next time in Seoul

The awesome hosts Bryan and Jina, with their WhatsApp group chat for all the travelers is the best part of the hostel and is also what you’re paying for. They will help you with everything, talk with people in the common room and constantly hand out suggestions for what to do and where to eat. The people there are very nice as well, average age probably 25-27 who are very outgoing and always partying, but I guess that’s what most people come to Seoul for. Be aware that the restaurants the other tenants go to are a bit pricey if you’re the budget backpacker type that me and my friend were. Each 6-man dorm also has their own toilet and shower room which is nice. It’s located in Hongdae which is a great place for eating out and parting, as it’s where all the university students and alike live, but you will have to take 30 minutes by bus/subway to get to the sightseeing locations of central Seoul, luckily transport is incredibly cheap in South Korea :)

For the high price (around 35.000 won a day) for a hostel, the facilities aren’t super high end. It gets very hot in the dorms, and you can’t open the window since it’s right beside one of the tenants so they would basically be sleeping outside, and the same goes for the air con as that would blast one of the tenants. The door lock mechanism on each dorm is super loud and will definitely wake you up when someone enters or leaves the room, and sometimes goes into an alarm mode seemingly by random, but that can quickly be disabled. Curtains on each bed would also be nice but not necessary

Jina and Brian are such amazing hosts - so happy to help out and they make the atmosphere great. The WhatsApp group is a massive plus - Jina and Brian post lots of info on things to do, and people are always organising plans that you can join in on. Location is very good, near a tube station and a short walk from hongdae street. Free breakfast always a plus!
