Although the room doesn't have an ocean view, the bedroom and bathroom are clean and well-organized, so it was the best value for money for a family of five to use without much inconvenience. Individual toothpaste and toothbrushes were provided, and everything such as soap, shampoo, hair dryer, skin, and lotion were provided. There were convenience stores, restaurants, markets, and Sokcho Port within a 10-minute walk around the hotel, so it was very convenient to stay. A simple meal of toast in the morning was also good.

Everyone had trouble sleeping because of the mosquito bites.

All. The Environment, Cleanliness, View from the corridor and the water heater is good even though it is on the top level of the 3rd floor. Simple English breakfast is quite good too. Take around 10 minutes to Fisheries Market and Abai Village Jetty by walk. Near to 7 eleven and bus stop. Only take 3-4 minutes. They also provide Toothbrush,Hairdryer and standard size dressing table with big mirror. As a woman it's a little lonely if you walk alone at night. But walking in Korea, I feel safe. The owner and staff is very helpful and friendly. Will stay again in others season. TQ so much ❤️

Only one thing..That night the heater did not feel and I did not find the temperature control switch. I can't sleep well because i feel quite cold all the night.Blankets are not able to warm my body with a temperature of 2'c..If I diligently go down and ask the staff maybe they can help. But it was quite late at night and it was not comfortable to disturb them. Ideal location. Bus stop a two minute walk away along Jungang-ro from hostel. A 5 minute walk to the fresh food market and numerous restaurants and street food vendors. Bus numbers 7 and 7-1 take you directly to the Express Bus Station and Seoraksan National Park - the latter a 45 minute trip. James is genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He speaks fluent English. The hostel is exceptionally clean; fresh towels supplied every day. Quiet. There are two doors between the hall and the room. This kills sounds, as do the two windows. (There is minimal, if any, traffic noise over night). Ask James about the great restaurant serving the best bibimbap we’ve had - its only a 10 minute walk away. Water fountain opposite reception supplies hot and cold water.

Breakfast is from 8-10am. Early risers will miss out on the cereal, toast and beverages.

The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was better than expected. (Almost) Everything neccessary was provided. The location was quite good.

The mattress was a hard but not too hard mattress (personal preference) and the room was as the close to the street as it can be in the building (but not a problem for a light sleeper as it wasn't too busy and manageable with earplugs). There were more mosquitos than expected, but in total only 3, and they were quite easy to get rid of with the provided spray. I would prefer it if the accommodation would provide some form of wipers/scrapers or sponges/towels to actively dry the bathroom since there was no window.

the hostel was located in such a convenient position in sokcho - everything was in walking distance or easy to get to via bus! the facilities were very clean and well-maintained and comfortable to use. the kitchen and outdoor terrace were especially lovely to use for both the included breakfast and late night snacks and chilling. james was super lovely too; when we arrived, he gave us some recommendations for places we could visit during our short stay and was very friendly and welcoming! all the staff we met were also very kind and we really enjoyed our stay 🫶🏼

Our room was incredibly clean and well presented, and included towels, a hair dryer and a TV. The staff were really friendly and offered lots of advice for things to see and do, as well as places to eat.

The coffee! :D There's really not much to criticise. If you're arriving from the Express Bus Terminal it's quite a long walk but there are city buses that stop really close to the hostel, so it's not really an issue.

The host, James, was really friendly, helpful and his English is great. Location is nice. Close to the fishmarket and in front of the bus stop that leads right to the national park and the express bus terminal. Fridge is useful. Light next to the bed is nice. Shampoo and shower gel is provided.

Breakfast is only from 8-10, which is a problem if you want to leave early. You cannot eat anything because the common area is also closed and you are not allowed to eat in your room. Sometimes there was a food smell in the bathroom. Would be nice if there were more hooks in and a shelf in the bathroom to up your toiletries. Mirror is to low. Bathroom could use a good cleaning of the walls and ceiling.

This is a great value. So cheap and still so high-quality. You have your own bathroom with a great shower, and free breakfast. The rooms are clean and the beds are new. The location is also very convenient as you are very close to buses going to Soeraksan national Park, and anywhere else in the town. It’s within walking distance of the town market place. The family that runs the hotel is very helpful and the son speaks very good English.

James and his family were exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. We loved the location close to everything like the fish market, the island with an amazing history of North Korean people, beaches, lakes and so much more. And if that wasn’t enough to do the bus stop is less than a 3 minute walk out the door. We were surprised at how much there was to do in Sokcho. The hotel/hostel was clean and comfortable.

We were very happy and will always remember our time in Sokcho with fondness.

+very friendly host who gives alot of information in the beginning (including markings on a sokcho map) +good spot for catching basically all busses including busses to seoraksan national park, hot springs and both bus stations +near to the coast, abai village and the fascinating fish market (also visit level B1 there, entrance on southeast) +can recommend! :)

-breakfast is very basic (only strawberry jam for bread and cornflakes with milk) -window only in front of the wall of the next building and no bathroom window -a little far from the city center with busses only going until 8-9 pm
