Loved the scenic views. Quaint and comfortable. Piazza bar outside - great for food/dinks in the evening. Car park for hire car or roadside parking. Breakfast was a lovely option. Local pool a 3-minute walk. Cleaners friendly and Alfonso helpful.

We didn’t use the hotel pool as small with space for 2 loungers and another guest was there. It was fine as the local public pool is fantastic.

Immaculate beautiful hotel in a very picturesque and very clean village overlooking the mountains. Our room was more like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining table, living room area and a terrace. Everything was so thoughtfully thought through and tasteful. The beds are very comfortable. Alfonso is very nice and caring. The restaurant downstairs is also very nice (goat cheese salad was really good), and there are a few others nearby. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

A lovely stay. Staff all helpful and polite. We went out and came back to find the rooms had been cleaned, beds made, bins emptied etc. Totally unexpected, but much appreciated and done on both days we were out. Great views out across the hills and comfortable beds. Kitchen had all you needed, except cava glasses. We purchased a couple in a local supermarket and left them for the next occupants. Enjoy.

Car parking a bit of a pain. Paid €4 a day, but noticed other cars just parked around outside. Probably didn't need to have paid, but unsure of parking regulations, so couldn't take a risk of a ticket.

If you want to be near the mountains and away from the main drag, then this will be perfect. It is a rustic Spanish hotel. No frills but great value for money. We didn't have breakfast but did opt for a room with a kitchenette. Very clean with lovely staff. The views are amazing.

Our room only had a juliette balcony, which was not obvious from booking. We were unable to sit outside and enjoy the fabulous views. Check carefully before booking.

Large, and comfortable room with a fine balcony facing towards the sun and with a view over the surroundings. The room was easily heated. Very friendly host. Excellent breakfast at a very fair price. Several restaurants nearby.

A few more hangers and/or shelves in the cupboard could have been useful.

Traditional Spanish hotel in a superb location overlooking the Andalusian mountains you feel very much part of the town of Alcaucin. Alfonso is the perfect host and gave us a free upgrade to a 2 bed apartment with great views. All very clean and the beds very comfy. Breakfast served by Alfonso is great value for money served on the Balcony with wonderful views sets you up for the day. A great place as a base within easy striking distance to the coast. We will certainly stay again.

Nothing of note

We just loved the peace and quiet of this hotel and town. Our room was everything we could have wished for, clean, comfortable and lovely views from the terrace. The bed was so comfortable too. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. We opted for breakfast after previous reviews and have to say, not disappointed at all. Alfonso is the perfect host and to have the service at the table is something we haven't experienced in any other place! Parking so easy across the road. Would we go back? Yes for sure!!!!

Absolutely nothing for us!

Room - we booked a 4 person family room, with B&B, but were upgraded to a 2 bed apt. It was spotless! All basic essentials were provided in the kitchen, beds were firm but comfortable and basic toiletries such as shower gel were provided along with clean towels and loo roll in the bathroom. View - We had a small juliet style balcony but other rooms had larger balconies to sit out on, so request this if it's something you particularly want. We looked out across the valley, gardens and orange groves to the rear of the hotel, while the door to our room brought us out to the front of the property, directly in front of which is the village square. This is a hive of activity in the mornings with all the locals meeting up for coffee and chat. Directly opposite are the natural spring water fountains. Plenty of bar/restaurants within a 1 or 2 min walk (seasonal opening), a small supermarket, deli & post office. Market day is Saturday. Note, the market space is used for public parking (free) on other days and there's a small children's play park too. Alcaucin is a traditional rural Spanish mountain village. Breakfast - This was buffet style with hot and cold continental foods. Guests could help themselves to 6 different cereals, yoghurt and dried fruits. The host then served the coffee, tea, milk and fruit juice (Cola Cao drinking chocolate too). There was a platter of fresh fruit, a basket of warm crusty bread rolls, butter, jam and marmalade, a platter of cold continental meats (2 types) and cheese, then a hot option (one day cheese and ham brioche toasties, one day mini burgers). More than enough to set you up for the day. Host - Alfonso was really lovely, friendly and welcoming. He has plenty of local knowledge and was happy to help with any questions we had/information we needed.

Absolutely nothing we disliked. It was ideal for us.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. The balcony/terrace was excellent: lovely to sit out with a view down the valley. The kettle with tea and coffee much appreciated.

great breakfast, fresh fruits, yoghurt, muslis, fresh bread and a delicious assortment of cheese and meat products and every day a different home made surprise such as tortilla, omelet or others.
