The location is absolutely gorgeous!!!Awesome views all around.Stunning heritage property but doesn't feel like it's properly managed and looked after.Very nice and friendly cleaning ladies and one waiter in the cafe.

The standard of rooms , restaurant and cafe doesn't match 4 star rating.Furniture is a bit run down and doesn't feel like any professional interior design has been applied. No eye for beauty, no attention to details.Breakfast buffet is not really generous and displayed in a very average way and no warm dishes, you have to order from the menu and they bring very small portions. Our omlettes were the smallest we have ever seen and the portion of vegetables was literally one table spoon and even when we asked for more next morning we still got the same.In the cafe when we ordered a fruit salad we got few pathetic pieces of fruits which looked like leftovers from breakfast.Shocking.

Stunning location. On a hillside overlooking the most beautiful bay, in an old medieval stronghold. Honestly one of the most scenic places I've ever been. The sunsets were incredible. Lovely hospitality experience, from easy check-in and friendly warm reception in English, to warm and personal service at breakfast and dinner. Wonderful Galician cuisine on-site for dinners; we enjoyed never having to walk down the hill to town (note that one of the restaurants was only open on weekends, but it was very delicious and highly recommended). Room was charming vintage Spanish design with modern comfort; the full bath, separate shower and lovely strong water pressure were much appreciated. We slept very well, it's a quiet premises and the shutters blocked sunlight. The pool area was lovely for reading and tanning on a sunny day, and the pool itself delightfully refreshing (cold!) and surprisingly large. I enjoyed the made-to-order olive oil fried eggs and bacon at breakfast, and appreciated it as the traditional Spanish style breakfast of cake and cured meats is not my preference (although their breakfast selection was very nice.) They had the only bottle of Tabasco sauce we saw in Spain and it was much enjoyed. :)

The bar area was constantly overwhelmed from a service perspective, because non-guest visitors to the medieval museum can also have a drink at the Parador bar with a discount. So the outdoor seating and waitstaff are inundated with non-hotel guests and it can be hard for guests to comfortably sit for a drink on demand. They did have a good Negroni, when we finally were able to get one. The pool area lacks a proper bar, so of note there is really only beer and water on offer there.

Everything went so well! - Stunning property. I think I stayed in a "single" room, but it was enormous and luxurious. - Loved roaming the castle walls, listening to the waves, gazing at the Cies Islands in the distance. Sunset to die for. I'm so glad I cut short my stage from A Guarda to Baiona with a taxi from Oia because I really enjoyed my afternoon roaming here. Consider a rest day here to really enjoy it. - If you are wondering if this hotel is worth a little splurge as a Camino Pilgrim - it absolutely is! Don't miss out! - Reception offered to provide the breakfast as a picnic when I mentioned leaving early. It was very generous in size and options! So much so I actually had to make some sacrifices before I left town because it was a bit heavy. - I really recommend this hotel highly and hope I can return!

No issues whatsoever. As a small suggestion, they could improve the little map of the property provided on arrival. I feel like it's such a special property it's worth a really detailed diagram and informational pamphlet! Another small suggestion is to open the pool just a tad earlier if the weather allows. It was in the mid 80s, so definitely pool weather, but I missed its opening by 2 days (opens June 1).

We spent a week here in July, having stayed in other accommodation twice before. We enjoyed the ambiance and the location. The swimming pool was good, although exposed to winds while we were there. The breakfasts, included in our package, were excellent. The views from the terrace and the walks around the Fortaleza are superb.

We dined in on only one occasion - we were disappointed, finding the fish dish somewhat bland. We found better options in other Baiona restaurants and bars.

This Parador was grand and magnificent. The views were spectacular. We loved walking the rampart walls ands exploring the huge property. This is what a Parador should be. We stayed here as we were walking Camino. Luggage transfer was no issue. We walked into town to eat and do our laundry. We stayed 2 nights to really enjoy this town and this property.

With no car it was a long walk down the entrance driveway to the town. However we were used to walking by this time on the Camino😃 so it wasn't a big deal to walk some more!

Room, bed, and bathroom are wonderful. The hotel is a delight with abundant history. The common areas are very nice with original artwork throughout the building. Plenty of interesting walkways near the hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Regarding hotel safety: it is surrounded by an excellent stone wall and I counted 8 cannons.

None.

The sea surrounds the property and the views are extraordinary, as is the setting and grounds within the walls and towers of the former fortress. There is a beautiful walking path around the entire property. Large bathroom with separate shower and tub. Easy walk into the old town of Baiona. Very good breakfast with cooked to order eggs as well as a buffet with lots to select from.

Other than the staff in the breakfast room, who were welcoming and helpful, the hotel’s staff, especially in the bar, is not the most friendly. Given the hotel’s incredible seaside location, it was surprising that there were very few seating areas outside other than four chaise lounges near the pool (probably because it was closed when we were there) and on the bar’s terrace. The furnishings in the room were a bit dated and worse for wear.

We had a room with an ocean view. There is a large deck overlooking the ocean with great bar service. Beautiful places for walking. Close to town for walking, shopping and dining. Pretty beach. Staff was absolutely incredible, helping well beyond expectations...for example, as we were leaving, housekeepers stopped their work to carry our luggage down the 3 steps to the main level. It is a gorgeous facility in a gorgeous location.

I was looking for more authentic regional cuisine.

Stunning location. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Excellent breakfast. Lovely terrace bar. Fantastic views and walks around old castle walls. Very atmospheric.

We loved the hotel but a couple of things let it down slightly - the terrace bar could have been kept cleaner , the floor was always full of discarded napkins etc which could easily have been swept up, and the bedrooms, while comfortable, looked a bit spartan.

the room was very comfortable and nicely appointed.

I didn't have a coffee maker in my room, but my friends did. The last night I was trying to sleep early, around 8:30 as I had an early departure. There were metal carts or something similar rolling down the hall until about 9:45. Also, I was able to hear the bathroom usage from another room, especially in the morning when the toilet was used.
