The hotel is located in a beautiful building in a fantastic location, just a stone's throw away from Passeig de Gràcia, La Pedrera-Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. We were pleased to find many excellent food options in the area, and the hotel felt incredibly central, making it easy to reach other places like the Gothic Quarter, Park Güell and La Sagrada Familia. The hotel staff accommodated our late check-in and were friendly throughout our stay. Overall, our experience was enjoyable.

Our room was located near the main entrance, and unfortunately, it was not the quietest. Even though it was a boutique hotel and low season, foot traffic was noticeable. Additionally, we received only one flat pillow each, which made it difficult to sleep well. To improve the sleeping experience for guests, two pillows each would be better. In hindsight, we could have requested additional pillows during our stay.

The hostesses were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The beds were super comfortable. The layout was unexpected but different and enchanting. The beds made the most of the room. The shower had a detachable spray which was very handy. The view was so pretty. There was a common area which was inviting and charming. and spacious. It provided a great opportunity to get outside of your room and relax on the beautiful patio or sit on the comfy sitting area. The hostess even brought an iron and ironing board for me. I loved that the hostesses were readily available on site but we still totally had our privacy.

I have a hard time thinking of anything that could have made a difference. I rated this 5 stars but if I had to think of something I would say that maybe it wasn't spotless...the floor and around the shower door but it was FINE! Also, the elevator was old-fashioned and super cool but a little tricky. The hostess was there to help us every step of the way but I think it would be helpful for that to be in the directions...how to actually get to Casa Mathilda once you enter the building.

This was such a wonderful discovery, centrally located in Barcelona Eixample Area. Location Location Location! Walking distance to La Pedrera and La Sagrada Familia. Many restaurants and shops. Secure indoor parking was available just a few blocks away. The hotel is located on the main floor of a stately building which used to belong to one of the most prominent Catalan textile-manufacturing families in the early 20th century. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop patio, the indoor dining area for reading and relaxing. Wonderful welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

The building and lift was very unique. Very clean and felt like walking into a home. Sandy and Patricia were very helpful and always came through with our wishes.

NOTHING MUCH. Just simple detail: We were in room 7, which i felt needed extra hooks to hang things up like my makeup bag and wet towels. I had to hang bath towels in closet to dry and would have like the nespresso in my room. Other than that excellent.

Finding and accessing Case Mathilda was easy, thanks to excellent communication from the staff. I was a late arrival, so the team made sure to provide me details on how to get into the building and then my room. The location was great and the best was the most comfortable of my entire trip!

I ended up being placed in the first room, closest to the main entry and could hear people coming and going. Not ideal, but wasn't too bad - luckily the other guests were not noisy! I left early in the morning and popped over to the community area to grab some water and a coffee - but they require you buy the pods. They weren't expensive but it just felt odd that they wouldn't provide complimentary coffee?

Not only did the arrange for a taxi to meet me at the airport and take me to the hotel ( set price 45 €) but they made getting in really simple. The room was full of lovely extras including free water, tea, coffee and cookies but chocolates to see you off to bed. The bed was a giant king sized bed with comfy linen and pillows, a nice bathroom and towels and, as I had to catch an early morning train, I couldn’t enjoy the breakfast. There is a very well appointed common area with the drinks, cookies and a vending machine should you be stay more than overnight which wasn’t the case for me. The beautiful old fashion lift was a godsend as I had one heavy bag and would not have wanted to drag it up the 25 stairs where Casa Mathilda is located on the first floor above the lobby. I would be more than happy to stay there again even though I never had the chance to meet or talk to any staff member in person. Highly recommended!

I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like. My room #14 had a window into the central well which let in light but wasn’t intended to be opened but that was fine because the room was perfectly quiet but if you must be able to look out on a view, you might need to ask for a room with a view.

Such a lovely and easy stay at this peaceful haven, well situated in bustling Barcelona. Communication with the hotel was straightforward and friendly and the staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable, well equipped and serviced. The list of recommendations for food was great. The communal area and opportunity to make tea and coffee was much appreciated as was the ability to leave bags on the day of checkout. Thank you for looking after us so well and we certainly hope to return on future trips.

Unfortunately if you stay during the week there is a school sports ground right behind the terrace which makes it very noisy from 8 am till at least 4pm . It spoils the terrace unfortunately as the children are screaming all day . No fault of the Casa Mathilde but an unfortunate fact nonetheless.

Excellent Hotel with particular attention to the finer detail. First hotel I have ever stayed in Spain that had English PG Tips Tea Bags which enabled me to have a lovely cup of tea every day. Breakfast was brilliant. Finer detail touches to room were great and the beds were so comfy. Air Con worked perfectly and was welcoming after a long day in the heat. What struck me was the peace and quiet. Terrace was beautiful and I spent many a morning eating my breakfast on the terrace and reading.

There was nothing I did not like.

The location was excellent and very quite inside the hotel. Very easy to sleep at night no external road noise and a nice area to stay Lovley clean bedroom, very comfortable bed. The staff where extremely helpful and very friendly. They had a list of recommendations for restaurants which where all excellent and very high quality.

The only negative was it was difficult to locate on arrival a slightly larger sign would be helpful
