Modern hotel in a perfect location to explore the city. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. Rooms are beautiful and compact. Great attention to detail. Rooms have tea coffee facilities with a bottle of water, fridge, safe and hair dryer. Big television. Beds are very comfortable and the staff who clean the rooms each day leaving you pj’s folded neatly on your pillow, which I thought was such a lovely thing.

The bathrooms have glass walls, and even though parts are foggy, if you share with someone, you will see and hear everything they do in the bathroom. You would have more comfort booking a room per person rather than sharing. But that’s not the staffs fault.

I was really disappointed as the morning we were leaving we went downstairs at the hotel's restaurant/cafe and asked to have a quick coffee in order to head up and check out our room. The staff informed us that as it was breakfast time they could NOT serve us any coffee and that we should go outside and pick a cup from a cafe in the neighborhood. Dear NYX management, if a hotel visitor asks for a cup of coffee (not at any time, in the morning!) and for some reason you cannot accommodate that need, you just pour them a cup from the American coffee you serve at breakfast complimentary. Hotels are meant to be hospitable :-)

“NYX Hotel Bilbao is an excellent choice for a stay in the city. Its location in the old town is perfect, with plenty of pintxos bars, cafes, and even a churrería just across the street. The shopping area is just an easy 10-minute walk away, and public transport (bus and tram) is conveniently right in front of the hotel. The hotel is modern with a good layout, features like a coffee maker and drinkable water are a nice touch. However, the glass bathroom lacks privacy, which might not suit everyone. Special thanks to the friendly and helpful reception staff, especially Semir and another gentleman. Overall, a very good stay in Bilbao!”

Location was nice. Easy walk in 10min to the bus that takes you to the airport and easy to see the city and its main attractions . Close to shopping and everything you want to eat right next to you.

It was too expensive for the value I would say, simple room without having any amenities apart from a toothbrush and shampoo/shower gel 2 in 1 (even though maybe you could ask for things you have forgotten from the receptionist or slippers-we didn’t ask ) but it looked rather poor. 1 bottle of water provided-normally there are 2 for 2 people (not a big deal but it fits with the whole perception of the room)

Loved friendly staff, location right in the centre of the city and the breakfast was really good. Also car park just a short walk away where they provide a discount card. We had a brilliant holiday here. Very close to shops and main attractions and in the Casco Vieja. If you are going for the festival too, it was in the centre of all that action but we left before that started. Also loved arcade machines, what a great idea!

Great location and wonderful front desk staff. Taxis can not drive into the Old Town, but the taxi stand is just across the street from the hotel so it is very convenient.

The only thing that I did not like about this hotel was the awful perfume smell in the lobby. It was non-stop nauseating! I am not even someone who is sensitive to smells, but I had to run through the lobby as quickly as possible to get out of the sickly, revolting smell. If you don't like room odorizers, beware that the entire downstairs which includes the bar and restaurant is saturated with an unbearable perfume smell.

Loved this city - it was an unexpected discovery! Got a free upgrade for my room and the hotel was nice, and staff helpful. The location was great, right in the old town but also by the river so close to the modern area of the city. I am extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness and have never found an hotel room that was 100% clean and so this happened again here - coffee table had coffee stains that I was able to remove, meaning that it had not been sanitized between guests. Other than this, I loved my stay and would definitely come back! However, I would have liked to know that the rooftop was only opened during weekends because this had been a factor in me booking this hotel over another. Also, the hard boiled eggs at the buffet were overcooked, but this isn't enough to ruin my breakfast obviously - just wanted to call it out.

Great location only minutes from transport links and the old town, very comfortable bed and good shower. Staff were helpful. Appreciated having the coffee machine in the room.

The bathroom was in a weird glass cubicle within the room which wouldn’t feel too private if you were sharing with someone - wasn’t a big issue for me as a solo traveller but it just seemed a bit strange. Room was on the compact side of things - might have felt like a bit of a squeeze with luggage for 2 travellers.

The location of the hotel was just at the entrance to old town, so ideally situated to visit the city and all it has to offer. The hotel itself is very artsy and nicely designed, outside and in, same goes for the room we were staying in. Given that I was travelling with my sister, the fact that we had a transparent bathroom and shower in the middle of the room wasn't as useful, but I imagine that there are people that would highly enjoy this. The beds were really comfortable, we had some tea and coffee along with water as a welcome gift, and the size of the room was big enough for our short stay. Lastly, we booked breakfast for one of the mornings before we left, which was solid with some usual choices of fruits, breads, cereal, eggs and meat - but for someone that is vegetarian and prefers to eat vegan sometimes, it was a bit disappointing and not as easy to find options. I'd recommend extending the choices for sure!

The only "downside" or minus point was that we got a room on the second floor with a view on another building (wall) with offices etc, so didn't really enjoy the view that people facing the river and plaza had. Also, it wasn't possible to open the windows to let in fresh air and using the air con didn't really get the freshness in we were seeking.
