This was the fifth time I had stayed at this lovely little hotel right in the centre of Cáceres. Which probably sums up my feelings about the place. Beautifully located (although parking can sometimes be an issue) right in the middle of this fabulous little city, on the edge of the medieval 'old town', Don Carlos is a characterful and comfortable reflection of Cáceres itself. Highly recommended to anyone. Great choice of restaurants within a short walk, and the breakfast (5€90 at February 2024 prices) is excellent!
Parking can be a bit 'sticky', but I got lucky on Plaza Marrón every time I visited. There is a paid car park option as well, which can be pre-booked in advance.

Great location. Walking distance to Plaza Mayor, shops, restaurants and the Casco Antiguo. The staff was super friendly. The room was clean, spacious and the bed/pillows comfortable. The parking garage is close by, better to park and walk to the hotel than try and drop off bags. The property established great communication at all times prior to checking in.
It’s a bit complicated to get to the hotel by car. It’s best to just park and access walking, it’s not far at all from the parking garage.

Great hotel, amazing old building, very interesting. Good stay, clean and comfortable. Only problem was you had to enter the hotel car park from a different road as the usual road was closed off on that day. It was so complicated, took us an hour to find the garage and when we did it was very dark with many pillars to negotiate. That said, the hotel receptionist didn't speak much English and our Spanish isn't good either, but she tried so hard to be of help and looked very relieved when we finally arrived. We were the only ones having breakfast, the light was literally turned on for us and a gentleman pointed out the coffee machine, toaster etc and then disappeared. Not unpleasant but we thought maybe he would reappear just to ask if all was ok! No problems, we would certainly stay there again.

I felt that I was given a warm welcome by reception staff. They informed me about a local event taking place on my first evening which I might have missed otherwise. When some guests were very noisy, they did try and do something about it. There was someone around most of the night at reception which made me feel more secure. My double room was lovely, spacious and airy. It was in an ideal location for getting to the old historic part and also the modern town. Breakfast was a cold buffet with lots of choices. It was good to have a fridge in the room to store water, picnic food and drinks. Plenty of places to eat out within 5 minutes walk.
There are bars near the hotel which mean that you may hear people till the early hours of the morning. I could sleep through outside noises, but some people may not be able to. If it had not been for some rude guests, always running around the hotel late at night making a racket, which was not the fault of the hotel, I would have probably not noticed.

This was the perfect location to go and visit gas which is an amazing time full of history and heritage. You couldn’t ask for a better location. The hotel was clean. The staff were polite and it was comfortable with good air-conditioning units.
It was a little bit old, but there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about the hotel. Maybe it would’ve been better if they would’ve had an actual open bar for a beer or a drink in the afternoon

Loved the location on the inner wall and the lovely renovation to a beautiful old building.
Trouble accessing by car as google maps was confused and many of the streets are no access. Then a great parking garage not too far off but hard to get to from inside the town and it was very dark inside the garage. ...just confusing but do able. Top floor room had no windows just a skylight which we had to keep closed to keep room from heating up.

Lovely hotel with old features, the room was lovely and cool. Beds comfy. Breafast was aqdequate . Staff very helpful.
The plumbing in the room was so noisy even when the next room used their bsthroom we coukd hear it..no view out the window just looking down onto the roofs and aircon units. The parking is a little walk away. Bit of a nuisance for us older guests having lug luggage through the streets .

Just on the edge of the old town, nice and convenient for everything. The hotel has some old charm to it but is modern and recently renovated, by the looks of things. We chose a room with no view on purpose but we were offered a view. The street outside can get a little noisy late at night, due to a few bars etc being closed by. Great place to stay.

The location was excellent - right up the street from Plaza San Juan (great food/people watching scene) and within a block or two of the Pza Mayor. I liked the size a lot too - it felt intimate and they called me by name, but the arrangement of each floor was such that it felt very private. Nice large bathroom.
It was a bit pricey for a two star hotel but we were there on a holiday weekend so I guess that's it. We were fine with it, but it wouldn't be the place for you if you want a "fawning" staff - they were basically in the back the whole time and you had to make an effort to get their attention.

it’s location. the friendly and helpful staff. the decor ..building appropriate but allowing free movement in the bedroom and common areas. lift access .
room for breakfast was a bit cramped for the number of guests Bedroom window looked onto pipes and neighbouring wall very close. this wasn’t a big problem as we were out all day, but didn’t allow for air circulation which I prefer to air conditioning at night.
