The Parador de Caceres is located within 5 minutes walk from the main city center. Caceres is known for it's Archaeological Roman ruins, castles, old buildings, museum's, narrow cobblestones streets. Lots of uphill climbing, so you need a good pair of tennis shoes. My wife and I love this city because it is small with a population of 85,000 thousands plus. The city has a lot of fortified fortress and castle's where the Romans, and later the Arabs Muslims, defended the city. So there is a lot of ancient history. Plenty of Museum to visit. The Parador staff and service were excellent. It's worth paying for the breakfast. A huge selection of foods to choose from. The building could have been an old convent but was modernized to resemble a Roman architecture. To us it was too modern. We preferred the Parador in Merida an original Roman Architecture. Although, my wife and I would have preferred for the Parador in Caceres to be closer to the city center where all the restaurants with great Gastronomy and entertainment are located. Especially at night if you like their Tapas. We spend two nights, 3 days and it's enough to see everything.

Away from the City Center within 5 or 7 minutes walk. The city itself is all cobble stones and like a "laberinto" Labyrinth. So we got lost all the times and have to ask locals for directions to the Parador. If you do not mind and climbing and going downhill on the streets and have strong legs then it's not a problem specially for young people unlike us in our seventies. The weather in April 17-30 was great. The mornings cool 9 or 10 degrees Celsius to about 15 or 16 in the afternoons. About 50 degrees Fahrenheit in the mornings to 59 or 60 in the afternoon. We wore a light sweater in the mornings and evenings. We do recommend this Parador for the value you get for the money you pay. Much better than staying in a hotel. We will return in the near future.

What I like of every Parador is that you come to “your house” every time you get there, but there’s no staff at all. You’ve got to wait a lot and it doesn’t have the feeling that paradores used to have. I’s the second parador I find like this.

The hotel is well situated in the old town and has a wonderful feeling about it. The evening meal, although only starting at 20:30h, was excellent and the wine list extensive. It was wonderful to stay in such an old and well refurbished building.

The only issue is that if you have a larger car it is not easy to get out of the car parking area. We have a small Mercedes and that only just fitted between the buildings. Otherwise there is nothing negative to say about the Parador de Catheres.

A beautiful building in the heart of the old city. Our room was spacious and overlooked the garden. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Parking is extremely difficult at the parador. The staff were great at suggesting alternatives but these come with an extra cost. The old city is beautiful but the streets are cobbled and extremely steep. Our visit coincided with the filming of House of the dragon, which restricted our access to some of the sights.

Great hotel in tricky location. Their recommendation to park outside the old town and get taxi to hotel is bang on. Huge car park and 5 euros taxi fare with taxi rank 2 minute walk from car park. Hotel is beautiful, staff super friendly and helpful. Dining area is lovely for both breakfast and dinner, we loved the music very atmospheric. Caceres is stunning, just walking around especially at night is a real joy.

When we were staying in the hotel, my husband became very ill. All the staff were exceptional. One member stayed with me as the paramedics arrived. Everyone was kind to me, and helped me navigate doctors/ hospitals etc. One member drove us in the Hotel vehicle to the hospital, and spoke to the Doctor on our behalf. We found the service outstanding (and sadly we know this is unlikely to be the same in England). Please pass this message on , and send our grateful thanks.

The rooms were very good, large and comfortable, airy and modern with historic charm. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

One of our rooms had a modern tv stand almost in the middle of the room. While this was a great location to watch tv from bed, the setting felt out of place and in the way, taking away from the overall historic room atmosphere. Some areas of the Parador (connecting alleys, back rooms) looked a bit neglected and did not keep to the overall style of the building and what one would expect from such a hotel. Both issues above could be addressed by paying some more attention to the details of the decoration.

The room we eventually had was fine. The location and staff were fine. Dinner was excellent.

The room we were allocated was small dark and had a bedroom window exposed to the landing. After complaining we were shown several alternatives, all much better and the same cost, and were happy with one of them. The staff were very obliging and helpful. The parador has some quirky corners being originally a combination of two buildings.

Superfriendly and helpful staff, willing to help all the time, superfast serving any request. Great facilities in an impressive old palace. Big room with a very comfortable bed. Impecable clean. Great quality breakfast that you can have on the terrace. Location is great, in the middle of old town, with plenty of landmarks that you can walk to. Great value for money

The great location makes it a a bit difficult to reach by car. The hotel does a great job providing you detailed instructions on how to arrive and park, but you can be a bit confused when you drive there through narrow streets. You need to ignore a couple of traffic signs to drive out
