I loved almost everything about this hotel. It’s a small, older b it upgraded in the right places (the room) boutique hotel , beautiful inside, great location for me (a bit further from the masses but still close enough), a great bar and restaurant which opens out to the boardwalk along the sea. The room I had was an interior single and tiny (I referred to it as “mi caja” (my box) but very well laid out and had everything I needed. Super clean. Great staff.

I feel so bad even complaining about this property because I loved it so much but one of its innate charms is also one of its drawbacks. It’s an older building, thin walls, and an old elevator that is so loud (the doors mainly) that I lost a lot of sleep the first night and it basically ruined my whole next day. (I don’t function well on 4 hours of sleep) I tried earplugs. They don’t work. You can hear people showering and talking in the room next door and people walking above, too, but that was tolerable. I just had to make sure I was in bed somewhat earlier than I would have normally preferred. This is a more sophisticated property so most people are going to bed at a reasonable hour as well. I definitely caught a morning with a lot of early checkouts on my floor!

The hotel location is amazing, right next to the beach! The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was happy I got to check in 20 min earlier then when I was supposed to. My room was quite small, as it was a single, but I knew what to expect when I booked the room. It was very cute, comfortable and clean, which is the most important. The hotel offers 3 bikes that you can use - a great added touch as San Sebastián is very bike-friendly. Overall my stay was great. The bed was especially very comfy.

When I entered the room there was a pretty bad smell, probably a cleaning substance used. Hopefully that could be changed. The smell slowly disappeared over time. Another thing that was not so great was the fact that my room didn’t get any natural light. I understand that this is the way the building is designed and overall it didn’t bother me that much, as I was out most of the time. Still, some natural light would have helped. A small fridge would also have been appreciated.

Reception staff very helpful. Central location. Great views

My rate didn't include breakfast so I went to restaurant the following morning and just requested a pot of boiling water and a small bread roll for which I was charged €16!!! Complete rip off in my opinion

Location. Especially staff. Bar, restaurant and reception were so nice. Especially the night guy. He was so pleasant.

As we were staying for 8 nights we needed lots of quiet and rest. Not on the fifth floor. The noise from movement on the floor in the room above us was really bad. So into our third day I asked to be moved. I know it’s not easy for a change like that. But with a little gentle persuasion we’re moved to the 6 th floor. Room was so small. It was so comfortable and with a balcony. We really enjoyed the rest of our holiday. Would definitely go back to Niza

I want to write a lot and positively about this hotel. I think that the first impression of San Sebastian very much depends on the place where you stay in this magical city. The hotel is ideal for the best experience. An ancient building with high ceilings, an authentic elevator and crazy parking below sea level (don’t repeat our mistake - parking needs to be booked in advance) Only thanks to the nicest staff at the reception we were lucky to get the last place in the hotel parking. Comfortable beds, small balconies, nice modern bathroom. Before the trip, I read a lot of negative reviews about the hotel restaurant. Lies! Yes, it’s true that the restaurant is tiny, and yes, it’s true that there may not be any free tables. But all this can happen if all the guests come for breakfast at the same time. You can enjoy the morning breeze for 5-10 minutes on the promenade, taking just 10 steps from the restaurant. And tables will appear. The staff constantly replenishes food in the buffet. The croissants at this hotel are divine. The dinner is delicious, there is not a lot of choice, but everything is very high quality. I recommend, as with parking, to book a table for dinner in advance.

Everything was excellent

First and foremost a big, big thank you to the client service desk and Biarritz restaurant staff. They were all exceptional, professional, kind and knowledgeable. Our dinner at Biarritz restaurant was delicious. The Niza hotel is ideally located, on the beachfront and walking distance to every attraction and site. It was a joy to walk out the hotel door and directly onto the beach - the best location! We had the good luck and delight of being in San Sebastián on his feast day - a week of spectacular fireworks on the beach and concerts to celebrate. Our stay at San Sebastián and at the Hotel Niza is unforgettable. Thank you.

A safe and fridge in the room would have been appreciated.

- the location was excellent, beachfront and an easy walk to the old town - the original lift was very quirky - bright fresh clean room - easy and safe parking

- no air con so had the window open and street was very, very noisy. Would have been the same if window closed. Disturbed our sleep and I’m not a light sleeper - one member of staff very curt and quite unfriendly, very unusual for spain - we found San Sebastián on the whole very expensive composted to other large cities in spain

Location was great, right on beach and close to bars. Very stylish reception area and classy decor. Great lift!! Staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and excellent value for money. Room was good size, comfy bed and lovely view from balcony. Big fluffy towels, nice toiletries and excellent hairdryer. Good to have hotel parking but car park not for the faint hearted if you have a largish car. Netflix available on TV.

No air con during extremely hot weather, although having window open helped. However it was very noisy from the bars and beach below into the early hours of the morning and then again from about 6.00 a.m.

Excellent location, friendly staff, supersoft towels. It was great to have a balcony, but no furniture to sit or have breakfast outside.

My room was facing the street and it was quite noisy, even if my room was at the top floor. For me the single bed was a little too small. The hairdryer was not working. The elevator is antique and even though it's a great experience to use it, we got stuck between two floors once.
