The location of this hotel was perfect to visit Girona for about two days. It is positioned in the direct vicinity (perhaps a 5-min walk) to the railway station and within an enjoyable 10-15-min walk from the historical downtown. The receptionists were all very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to - finally - hear Catalan (and not only Spanish/Castellano) during this trip over Catalonia also amongst the employees of the hotel. The room was fairly simple and, frankly, quite outdated on its looks, furniture and devices. Yet the price / quality correlation was reasonable. Overall, I found my stay in the room very convenient and pleasant. I am grateful for a bathrobe too.

The minus of this hotel for me is its breakfast. There's nothing dramatic about it. But it's a way too simple for the price and in comparison to other hotels I've stayed in Spain elsewhere in the same category. The choice is poor. The coffee machines are weird and a cappuccino option is quasi non-existent. I am a huge fan of the Catalan pa amb tomàquet (tomato bread), which they had, and which - luckily - didn't leave me hungry. Otherwise, there is nothing I would have eaten for breakfast there: neither pastry nor fruit salads tasted fresh or good.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to find us a room as soon as we arrived but unfortunately we arrived at about 11.30 am and there were none available. However, they looked after our luggage until we returned a few hours later. We were first given a room with a shower over bath but when we enquired whether they had any rooms with a walk-in shower they changed it straightaway. Fabulous shower, spacious bathroom - enough room to put toiletries etc and big, fluffy towels. The room was a good size, had a mini bar, very comfy bed and a number of pillows of different shapes and sizes. There was a good amount of hanging space and the aircon worked well. There was also a safe. There must also be very good sound proofing as there was never any noise of other bathrooms or other guests walking on the corridors or on the floor above. A bonus was the soft-close doors on the rooms which ensured that doors did not bang. The hotel has a very nice restaurant, Indigo, where you can enjoy meals inside or out. The food is very good. It also serves late into the evening. There is also a bar/restaurant which serves during the day but closes earlier in the evening. The bus and train station are only a 5 or 6 minute easy walk away and the hotel is well situated for both the old and the new town. The bus to and from the airport runs regularly - or at least ties in with arrivals and departures of flights and costs 2.5 euros each way. This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel Carlemany and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Girona.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The location was great...just a few minute walk from the old town! The room was very clean and adequate. The staff at the front desk were helpful!

The room we had was clean and lovely but looked nothing like the pictures you have on the site...wasn't the very modern room that you are showing above...was very generic "big hotel" room. Not sure where the disconnect is here?? It was a bit disappointing as I was looking forward to seeing it. I'm an interior designer and love to see great styles and design when I travel. Other than that is was great! :)

Spacious and nice room - similar to photos on booking. Comfortable bed and pillows selection! very nice bed lining. Nice and spacious bathroom with comfortable switcher of the light(per zone).

Our room (322) was in front of the door of housekeeping storage, so at 8:30 they started to use it and it was very noisy. After we made this comment to reception, for 1 day it was silent. No tea bags were refilled after we used the ones. It was my BDay and there was nothing in the room to congratulate (some small detail like a chocolate, bottle of water with a congrats signature would be very much appreciated). I’ve spent my BDays in another 4 star hotels and they were more attentive.

Friendly and efficient check-in process - they were even able to check us in one hour early. Bathroom was fresh and spotless with a large shower and nice bath linens. Bed was firm and extremely comfortable. Room very spacious by European standards. AC functioned well, nice high-speed WiFi. Easy walk (5-10 minutes) to old town Girona, plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Very easy / short walk from train station.

Rooms facing front of building could be noisy due to street traffic. Otherwise, no other significant complaints!

Spotless room. I didn't have any meals in the hotel, nor did I partake of the minibar. The location was excellent and a short stroll from the train and bus stations. It was also a short stroll to the central tourist attractions e.g. Cathedral, bascillica, jewish quarter, castle walls, river

The Smart TV was confusing. It kept flashing up some sort of notice. Initially I thought it was a pay to view TV but on phoning reception found it to be free to view. That notice was a bit of a pain but I didn't spend long watching TV anyway.

Excellent breakfast, just right to set us up for a day of cycling. Great bar for post ride beer. Really comfy rooms and easy access to bike garage. Hotel location perfect for many cycling routes and then many restaurant options in the evening.

They changed towels every day with no option to ask to keep them, which I just felt a little uncomfortable with.

The staff were helpful and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. The towels large and soft. Nice breakfast every morning with a variety of choices and great staff readily refilling supplies. Easy access to parking! I appreciated the AC!

Stained carpets and frayed bedding . Rooms looked a little tired. Small elevator that shut on me several times:

Strange place when you arrive, telephone booth from the 1980’s still in the reception, dark, gold, outdated foyer and lifts. However, when you arrive in your rooms there are chic, modern and have all the facilities you expect in a newly built hotel. The location and parking facilities are the best in the city, 5mins walk to everywhere to need to see. the staff are helpful and pleasant but not on top of you. we requested a clothes iron and it was delivered within 5mins. We would highly recommend this hotel for a Girona city visit especially if you have car.

Beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, very good location, TV in a lot of languages (French, Spanish, English, Chinese,... )

Parking lot isn't included and is quite expensive (even with the client discount), 14€ for one night for us.
