Great location - Salamanca neighborhood is fantastic for shopping and eating out. The hotel is nicely designed, giving off a retro-chic vibe. The breakfast is very descent. The staff is polite, friendly, and helpful. Overall, it’s good value for money.

The first night there were some issues with the room, due to which we had to pack up and move to a less comfortable room (smaller and noisier). The second night, however, we were moved again to an upgraded room to make up for the inconveniences. This was an example of good service that was highly appreciated, and it indeed improved our experience. It is worth mentioning that the first room that we were checked in had the toilet in a separate tiny closet-like room, not in the “main” bathroom, which I found uncomfortable (although that may be a matter of preference). The parking is expensive - it is in a public garage around a 4 minute walk away. The hotel provides a 9% discount for it.

It’s have become my home in Madrid , great boutique hotel , excellent location in Salamanca’s heart , near stores , restaurants , and minutes from historic center , and most important VERY nice staff , very friendly and always in a great Mood to serve guest , definitely a must !

Rooms : very comfy bed , excellent bathroom & Shower ( Rain shower!) but need more confortable seating furniture within the room , don’t like to spend time seating on the bed while in the room, also amenities very limited , but understandable due to the nature of a boutique hotel

We couldn´t ask for a better location, it was close to everything, safe, lively and chic neighborhood. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options and fresh ingredientes. The bed was extremely comfortable, sheets and towels as well. Star quality staff services, everybody was friendly and helpful all the time. It was our 25th anniversary and we got a beautiful cake and cava, we felt very special! Can´t wait to be back

Honestly, we loved everything!

Location is great. Hotel is located in beautiful area called Salamanca. There are lots of stores from luxury to department stores. Hotel is very clean. Rooms are big enough. Shower was amazing and the bed is so comfortable. Neighborhood is quite elegant and at night there is no noise. Staff is very kind especially Irene is very helpfull and kind. Breakfast was also full of great options and tasty.

Absolutely beautiful hotel located on a quiet street but close to everything! The room was spacious and gorgeous with a very comfortable bed. We really appreciated the blackout curtains for sleeping in and the rain shower was so luxury! Our patio was amazing and we enjoyed many evenings up there relaxing and taking in the city views. The staff was also so kind and helpful, we would definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and a good size, the bed was comfortable, it had a nice outlook, with opening windows to the small balcony, great shower, handy safe, and fridge/minibar. The wifi seemed fine. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, nuts etc, and dishes to order, with staff there very friendly (Fernando). There are several metro stations not that far away, but most convenient are the many bus routes, mostly very frequent, making it easy to get to museums and the lively tourist areas (which we preferred to visit for eating and drinking as the local places seemed more up-market than we like). There is a supermarket round the corner. The area is not too noisy,

The air con was not operational because it was winter. This meant that at night the room was a bit warm - even though it was February - and stuffy. Though the area is not too noisy, and opening the windows fine during the day, there were a few restaurants bars with street seating, which were fairly noisy on a couple of late evenings. So we didn't feel we could keep the windows open at night.

Breakfast was amazing! Great way to start the day. We also loved the location. Not in the center of town but within walking distance of the Prado and other museums. Cabs are relatively inexpensive, so we liked being slightly outside the hustle and bustle of "downtown." Also, we were surrounded by terrific restaurants and boutiques. The hotel itself was beautiful, very art deco but in a modern renovation. We loved the lounge where we could stop at the end of the day or evening for a cup of tea or coffee.

The hotel was very high-tech -- everything operated in the room by a touch screen. Took a few days to get used to for us baby boomers. Others probably wouldn't even notice.

Loved this hotel! The location was in a quiet and desirable area of Madrid, yet close to restaurants and shops. The staff went above and beyond. They are very attentive and know what real customer service means. It was a very pleasant experience dealing with them each day. The hotel is kept extremely clean. The decor is quaint and goes with the area. The breakfast was wonderful. It offered a wide variety of items in a lovely setting. This hotel goes above and beyond in all respects, even compared to overpriced luxury hotels I've stayed in recently. The value is incomparable. I wholeheartedly recommend it for any traveler. I can't say enough good things about ICON Casona 1900. From now on I will choose ICON hotels, knowing the experience I'll have.

There is nothing I can think of that can be improved.

Great room with large balcony/terrace that is definitely worth the extra money! The hotel is located in a very upscale neighborhood just outside of the city center, but very conveniently accessible by public transport (metro & bus). During the nights the street is calm and the good sound proofing added to that really allows to sleep well (even for us as light sleepers). Wonderful extra touch of welcome drinks offered by Cindy of the staff!

If we are really pushing ourselves to find something: the seating on the balcony could have been a bit more comfortable and the leds of the electric wall controls give just a bit too much light during the night, but that's easily resolvable by putting something in front of it.
