The hotel is very well located. It is located close to many sights, shopping streets and buses. Also very close to the beach. A really great location. Furthermore, the room was good. It was spacious enough for 1 person, plenty of closet space and a spacious bathroom. Sound-wise it was really good too. It's the first time I've barely heard any sound/noise. I didn't hear anything from the street (I think this street is very calm at night, no party clubs around) and maybe I was lucky with the other hotel guests at that time, that they were quiet :) But I certainly could no complaints about noise pollution. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't say anything about that. You can leave your bags if you have a late flight. The bags are behind a close door, so they are safe. But overall very satisfied with the hotel!

Everything was good!

I was only staying overnight so that I could take some time being a tourist the following day and I chose Carlos V due to its location, car parking and value for money – a great combination of what a city tourist requires. And I was not at all disappointed. It is a fabulous location virtually adjacent to the Alcazaba, Teatro Romano and Catedral. I arrived at the hotel much later than planned due to a number of “discussions” with my satnav which I eventually turned off. Once I’d ditched the satnav, and with the help of a taxi driver, I found my way to the ayuntamiento and followed the route through the restricted pedestrian areas provided by the hotel and parked the car right outside the hotel entrance. I checked in, was handed the key for the hotel's garage (50 metres away), parked my car and was sitting in Uvedoble Taberna opposite the Teatro Romano with a glass of Ribera del Duero in my hand within ten minutes. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, my single room comfortable and clean and the ensuite had lovely powerful hot shower. Located right in the centre of old Málaga, Carlos V was indeed a gem of a find.

1. The staff were very professional, welcoming, helpful and informative. 2. The breakfast buffet (excluded from rent) offered a wide-ranging choice of nutritious and delicious food and drink. 3. The hotel is located barely a 5 mins walk away from the cathedral, amongst a network of shops, cafes and museums.

The single room overlooked a small internal space so the view was bare walls and didn't receive enough natural light for my liking. However, I didn't plan to spend much time in the room so this wasn't really an issue. I was out in the beautiful city of Malaga throughout the day and only needed the room to rest overnight.

The location was excellent - close to the Alcázaba, the cathedral, the port, public transport etc. The room was fine but faced a wall which meant it was quite dark. However, on the positive side it also meant it was very quiet on a night, despite being close to bars, restaurants etc - it also had a very efficient fridge. In any case we chose this small hotel for its location as being in the heart of Malaga, we didn’t expect to spend much time in the hotel. The staff were friendly and informative. We opted for the breakfast which was simple but fresh and sufficient for our needs.

The location was fantastic. Very central and very quiet. I stayed in a single room with a very comfortable bed, so with a good bed and it being quiet you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. Only a 10 minute walk to the train station to get the train to and from the airport. Staff very friendly and helpful. I did not book breakfast but paid for it on one of the mornings I was there. It was a good continental breakfast - good value for money.

The single room did not have much day light coming into the room so it was quite dark but this did not spoil my stay. As I was only there for a few days sightseeing I basically only used the room for sleeping.

This is my go-to hotel in Málaga. Each year, I usually pass through Málaga three or four times. I am always happy to see the staff, Jesus, Alvaro, and the breakfast room attendant, who used to be Carmen, are all very sweet and professional. The rooms vary considerably, but aside from hallway noise, they are free from the raucous sounds of Malaga's fun-loving streets. In addition to the staff, the location is fabulous. Cathedral on one side, Roman amphitheater and Moorish fortress on the other. I have tried both Airbnbs and other hotels in Málaga, but I always return to Carlos V.

The funny velvet chairs in the rooms are odd, but they are reasonably comfortable, and they could be worse.

The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and functional and the aircon worked well. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was fine with a great shower. Parking was good although very small spaces. The location of the hotel is excellent with all the attractions of the old town on iys doorstep and also an easy walk through the gardens to the port and onto the beach.

It would have been nice to have had a coffee machine/kettle in the room or at least in the seating/breakfast area.

Both the central location and the private parking nearby were very much to my liking. I also enjoyed some very nice restaurants within 50 or 100 meters from the hotel. All the great sites to visit were only a few hundred meters away: the Alcazaba, Roman theatre, Malaga museum (very quiet), Picasso museum (very busy) and the cathedral. Being so nearby enabled me to visit them early and avoid the biggest crowds. Room was small, but had all the necessities and was very quiet and clean. Staff very helpful. Breakfast pretty good.

Location, location location We took a 4 night break to Málaga and we're so impressed with this small hotel. If you want a clean, comfortable room smack in the centre of old town Málaga, here it is. Walk out of the hotel door onto the pedestrian area of central old town. 100 metres to your left is the stunning cathedral. 200 to your right the entrance to the magnificent fort. We found the bars and restaurants were reasonable for a tourist city and full of local people. We were worried about Málaga being like other Anglicised Spanish resorts, it's not. It beautifully retains its heritage and identity. Which is the reason for our visit. Caminito del rey is a short train ride away and a wonderful experience for your trip. We used the A bus from the airport on way in which cost €3.5 each and dropped off a couple of minutes walk to the Carlos. Taxi back was €27.00 but was 04.00 for early flight.

Can't really say we didn't like anything. Tea/ coffee in the room would have been great. The breakfast was adequate.

We loved staying here. Opposite to big and flashy, this hotel was small and authentically charming. It is centrally located on a pedestrianised street, which we were authorised to access by car to off-load our luggage outside the hotel’s front door. Close to visitor attractions and many cafes. Safe and secure underground parking available about 50 metres from the hotel and was easy to access. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
