Our 3rd stay here but we had to change rooms the first night as there was a problem with the electrics, but we were glad we did as the new room was much bigger and given we were staying 8 nights we needed the space. The first room 201, is small with an accessible wet room rather than the lovely larger bathroom that we had in 206. The views are good from all rooms we've had but I think the 2nd and 3rd floors are the best. The staff are lovely, breakfast very good, housekeeping excellent, beds very comfortable. Plenty of towels and toiletries. 2nd room was missing a hairdryer but one was found immediately. Reasonably priced mini bar and free tea/coffee replenished daily. The views from the bar/terrace are lovely. The hotel is next to the castle and also on a bus route, which we used frequently, very cheap to get in to the city centre

The first room we were in was too small for an 8 night stay in my opinion and only had 1 armchair it was more suited to 1 person with limited mobility not 2 although it did have a double bed. The pool is a little on the small side and a long way from the cafe/bar if you want a drink. One of the sockets in the room didn't work but there were plenty of others.

Great location, with a wonderful view of the city of Malaga and along the coast. Rooms were spacious. Staff very helpful and friendly. It is possible to walk to the city along a tree lined path. The walk takes about 20 minutes, it is steep in places - wear appropriate footwear. There is a regular public bus that stops outside the entrance gate to the hotel. The bus costs 1.40 euro to travel to the centre of Malaga and takes about 10 minutes. The food at breakfast and in the bar was delicious. We will be back.

The hotel is amazing, beautiful location. The room was elegant and the view incredible. Great balcony and the bed was really comfortable. Hot shower, everything you need in the bathroom. Staff were lovely and friendly. Slow service at the bar but we were on holidays, not in a rush, but on occasion we did leave and just headed into town as we were waiting so long to order a beer. Food was lovely, the breakfast is expensive so we chose to eat in town most days. We will definitely return to the hotel and I would highly recommend, It is a hike back up the hill but lots of affordable taxis. Oh and the pool area is great also :)

Stunning and unrivalled location, surrounded by pine forest and nature! Impeccable, quiet and comfortable rooms with amazing views over Málaga Port. The pool area is very peaceful and pleasant, and the restaurant and bar terraces are just fabulous, with what I think must be the best views over Málaga City and beyond! The Gibralfaro Castle entrance and public transport into Málaga City is just a few hundred metres away outside the hotel gates.

In spite of the fantastic setting of the restaurant terrace, I was a little disappointed with both the menu and the service, which in my view, could benefit from some attention. Some of the plates are quite expensive for what they are, and the staff (although polite) seemed eager to finish their shift, which makes you feel a little unwelcome. The same attitude with the breakfast service.

Absolutely incredible views of the entire city from this gorgeous hilltop location. Whilst at the port you look up and smugly pat yourself on the back for your 'home' being this delightful little place that everyone admires. Lovely pool although the weather was very unseasonable and we were unable to sample it. Staff friendly and although very small, the hotel feels homely. Cleaning excellent.

Very remote location beside the Gibalfaro with no supermarket or restaurants nearby. The closure of the main route up to the area also makes access very difficult, so it was a costly taxi ride up the hill and a long (although pleasant) walk down through the pines with great views over the city. Room very small but sufficient for a few days. Unfortunately we did some noise from the restaurant at times - especially as our room was right beside the creaky doors.

Very nice hotel Bit pricey but worth it for the view and the ambiance Brilliant views from the whole hotel Lovely breakfast and dinner on the terrace If you stay you can book this but it is a fair system so pick the night that you want the terrace view We were fortunate to have 5 terrace experiences We had the breakfast and dinner package Staff are very good and very nice Easy walk downhill to the town centre Bus 35 back up the hill €1.40 per person

Hotel is a bit old but ok Nothing would stop me returning

The hotel is set high in the town with a steep path down into the city that took around 20min. Lovely views from path and hotel. It was great to come back via the bus and nice to come back to the hotel pool.

The upstairs restaurant is a little confusing. The menu didn’t translate well from Spanish to English. The reception staff assured us that they would look into this. Breakfast is buffet for 20euro or you can al carte but still pick want u want from buffet or order eggs and bacon and get charged what u pick from buffet. The bed was amazingly comfortable with a lovely balcony area too.

Superb position overlooking the town and port. Excellent evening meals - good choice and very good quality. Staff very friendly.

Wash basin needed plunging to remove popping noise. Very noisy gatherings with loud drumming near the nearby Gibralfaro entrance ruined Sunday pm sunbathing by the pool. The pool is overlooked from the walkway down to the Alcazaba. It is basic but clean and adequate.

I regularly return to this hotel and it never disappoints! It offers a perfect location as is a short walk downhill to the main attractions of Malaga centre (10-15mins) yet offers spectacular tranquil sea views of Malaga and is one of the few hotels in the area with an amazing pool area complete with sea view. There is a regular bus outside the gate of the hotel and staff are incredibly helpful.

Honestly I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like. One recommendation is to perhaps develop the bar food menu but restaurant food very good.

Have stayed in the city centre and now up the hill. Up the hill has amazing views of the city and is quiet. Taxi downtown is approx €7 each way. Room was very nice, we were on the bottom floor so we heard the staff coming into work in the morning. It was a nice room but I think we might prefer 3rd or 4th floor next time. I did ask to view the "superior rooms" but there were none available to view. Parking is easy. Lounge and balcony areas are superb. Didn't use the rooftop pool but I will next time. Staff were really nice both in the bar and in reception. Especially the gentleman at reception who checked us in and out

Ever so slightly dated but still nice. Breakfast at €20 is a little boring by today's standards but still nice. We were on the 1st floor and there is a walkway outside the balcony area which is used by staff arriving and leaving for work. Because the room was warm (yes even in Nov/Dec) we had the balcony door open and could hear the comings and goings.
