3 generations of our family (aged 16 to 82) have just returned from the wonderful Hotel Bahia. The style, gardens and vibe set this apart from other local hotels. The gardens and furniture also meant there were plenty of places to lounge in the heat of the day. We didn't have any bad weather, but if we had, the lounge and bar were beautifully and comfortably furnished and would be ideal to relax in. The proprietor and staff made us feel welcome, they are so friendly and helpful. We had half board and were really impressed by the quality of the ingredients and cooking. There was a wide selection at the buffet breakfast, catering to all tastes. We so enjoyed taking our coffee onto the shade of the cool veranda after breakfast each day, glimsing the sea between the trees oppposite, which separates this hotel from the beach. During the day and evening there were plenty of spots to hang out in, and enjoy the pool and we felt very at ease, which is not always the case in hotels. Each night we sat down to a freshly cooked 3 course meal (every day there was a different choice of 3 starters, mains and a buffet dessert), there was also a bar area which served food near the pool and a lot of guests chose to eat there. There are plenty of other restaurants minutes away on foot with good choices. There is a little Spa supermarket a few yards away and a bus stop just a little further that has regular easy-to-use air conditioned buses into Palma central bus station which is a few minutes walk away from a fantastic indoor market (7am-3pm, mon-sat), 'Mercat de l'Olivar', with its fresh produce, wine, tapas and oyster bar, and a short stroll down through the historic streets to the port and Cathedral. We were leaving on a Sunday afternoon so booked a table at the bar the day we left and so were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic lunch with good live jazz music, which seems to be quite a draw on Sunday afternoons (for good reason).

Some other people may feel this hasn't got the most modern decor, but for us this was the attraction. We loved the decor and it all added to the feel, which is cool and relaxed rather than fussy. Some rooms have better views than others and outside space varies, but we found that when we booked the hotel staff happily took on board our requests about views and space and ensured we had all our needs met.

Staff was very forthcoming. We loved staying at the pool and being served by the very friendly waiters. Beer was the perfect temperature, food was fresh and well prepared. Facilities were very well maintained, air conditioning worked very well and quiet (we've had very bad experiences with that before in Mallorca). The owner Juan was always hanging around, chatting and having laughs with guests and making sure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves, without being intrusive.

Our wish for 2 rooms close to one another wasn't fulfilled at arrival, it would only be possible 3 days later, we were actually in 2 different buildings. But since one of the rooms was very nice pool front and with an extra sofa, we preferred this arrangement and stayed like that until the end.

Generally nice hotel with a style and history. Helpful and nice personnel, good breakfasts, cozy pool and garden around, big comfortable beds. Met my expectations - everything looks exactly like on pictures:)

Few things were not ok, but didn’t spoil the impression too much: towels - some of them were dirty or ripped, but got replaced immediately once we asked, maybe worse to revise and replace them for new. Parking is tiny only for 4-5 cars in general, first come first served. On our last night air conditioning got broken what caused water running from ceiling in bathroom - just made me think that the whole object needs revision. Also noticed small ants on the floor in our room

Breakfast had a good selection and quality! Staff were friendly, especially the night manager who checked us in and, especially the older gentleman in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was really high quality! Pool was nice and we always got a sun lounger. Location was good and so close to the beach, shops and bars.

I had an amazing time here. The beautiful pool, garden and lounge areas make this hotel a hidden gem! Super nice atmosphere, super friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and lunch. Too bad that I missed the Sunday afternoon jazz band. Airconditioning was working well. I would definitely come back.

The rooms are becoming a bit older and the tap was dripping, but this didn't hinder me from having a great time.

The staff were incredible, helpful and very friendly. The hotel is very close to the beach and is a delightful retreat. Beautiful gardens and a lovely swimming pool. The rooms were very nice with incredibly spacious terrace and cupboard space. Overall a lovely hotel.

That people put towels out around the very limited seating of the pool. Most of the day nobody was sat on the seats but towels and possessions claiming them. It would be good for the management to add a policy that seats can only be kept when using them and not leaving towels on them so others can't use them.

I really loved the stay we had. Staff were friendly and always available to help. Had great massages on two different occasions, the room nice and cosy. I loved the decor, very quirky and had lots of character.

That the indoor pool and spa area was shut. I didn't see this stated anywhere so was disappointed that we couldn't use it

Loved the hotel as a whole, the way it was decorated, the garden and the pool. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

There wqs no kettle in the room. On arrival there was no water in the fridge. The pool side toilets were not the cleanest. There was no external light in the part of the hotel we stayed in. You had to pay extra for the seif
