The room size was generous with a lovely terrace overlooking the ocean, well appointed and comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom was good with a nice walk in shower. Lovely old building with nice architectural features. The breakfast was well done with a nice selection of choices, as was the dinner which was well cooked and not too expensive. Nice formal dining room with window tables overlooking the gardens. Good wine list. Exceptional size of unheated outdoor swimming pool great to use in the afternoons.

I stayed here for five nights - wanted to stay longer, but the property was sold out. During my stay, I left the property only two times. The hotel has beautiful gardens, magnificent views, a beautiful swimming pool, meaning one can meander around, read, write, etc. in quiet. The only real noise is that of the Canary Islands winds and an occasional ship docking at the island's main port below the hotel. My room was on the first floor, just above the main entry cloister, and had a spectacular view of the garden and the sea. Sumptuous buffet breakfast, which was included in my room rate. The dinner menu offers a good choice of local cuisine; prices are appropriate for the property standard. Lovely bar with outdoor or indoor seating. I'm dreaming of returning!

As noted by other contributors, there was a slight odor of sewage near my bathroom. I am sure that the hotel is addressing this based on other feedback. In any event, it wasn't so powerful for me to complain to the management.

Charming property in a wonderful location

The bathroom in our room had a terrible drain smell. Bed very uncomfortable and shower switches impossible to move. We changed rooms after the first night. 2nd room so much better including 2 sinks in bathroom as opposed to only one in the first room..same category room. You had to use a piece of paper to get towels at the pool…really! If having breakfast at the hotel you had to specify a time…7.30/8.30 or 9.30 the day before. Again, not great. The biggest complaint was the opening and closing times of the pool…10 to 6. Many guests are out during the day and come back to the hotel to relax and it was very annoying to have to leave the pool at 6pm before the gates were firmly locked! We would have also liked to swim first thing but not possible. Overall hotel was great and staff lovely.

We had an unpleasant smell of sewage in our bathroom. Although the hotel attended once made aware, I think it may be a common problem which didn’t go away. A cooked breakfast menu should be available on all tables or at least the waiters should make clients aware of what is on offer. The restaurant didn’t serve food until 7.30pm which was too late for us. Would have been nice if the pool was heated.

We had an amazing 7 night holiday at Parador de La Gomera, our room was fabulous with wonderful views of the sea and the gardens. Our room was spacious with all the facilities that we needed for our stay at the hotel. The staff are all great and work very hard to ensure you have a great holiday with them.

I didn't like having to leave at the end of the week but apart from that there was nothing.

Understaffed, restaurant food underwhelming, service often slow and food cold. Pretty dead in the evenings, bar closed at 11pm, then nowhere to sit. Annoying system for towels at pool and only allowed one smallish one. Despite there always being someone on duty at the pool and facilities for selling drinks available there, this was closed and had to trek back to the main bar for a drink. Sauna not working.

Beautiful building with castle vibes, nice rooms and super friendly staff. Nice view of the ocean, port and town down below. Breakfast was simple and good, coffee was great.

Rooms aren’t sound proofed that well. There’s no pool service at the pool, but why? Pet fee of 30 EUR per night, is a bit excessive considering the restrictive pet policy and pet amenities.

The hallways, lobby, common areas gardens, pools are authentic and beautufully designed. And it was extremely clean.

The hotel is a beautiful hotel but the bed in our room.was on wheels and was uncomfortable for such a beautiful hotel. We spent a lot of money to spend 6 nights here and I couldn't figure out why the bed was like a big camp bed! There was very little choice for breakfast and when trying to find staff in the middle of the day to maybe have a glass of wine and sit in the beautiful gardens, there was never anyone at the bar to serve you. Even tho it claimed to be open all day until 10.30pm. It's a very quiet hotel and the views are beautiful, but if you need to check out San sebastian for dinner then prepare to walk up lots of steps to come home. Or maybe use one of the taxis near the beach.

Hotel itself is amazing with stylish interiors in colonial style and large pleasant garden with city and sea view. Room and bathroom were really nice and spacious as was the balcony. Restaurant serves really good food and tasty breakfasts. I loved this place and I will definitely comeback if have an opportunity to visit Gomera again.

Location is amazing to stay in the hotel but quite far to walk to the city center (car is recommended). Old style bed was so high that as rather short person I almost needed to climb on it :D

The hotel is in a beautiful spot on the cliff overlooking the ocean and San Sebastian de la Gomera. The pool and jacuzzi area is great. Nice breakfast (albeit at an extra cost). Incredibly quiet - all we could hear was the wind from the sea blowing in the trees! Nice comfortable and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Lovely garden with beautiful trees and plants, and lots of seating areas. Lovely colonial architecture.

The bathroom could have been better - the showerhead was full of limescale, making water spray out in all directions. Also there was a gap between the screen and bathtub, meaning water would spray out onto the floor while showering. This was visible especially in the architrave which was swollen due to all the moisture and a damp smell. We spotted a cockroach in the bathroom on the first night too (I know this is normal for the climate and area, but I spent two weeks in another place in Tenerife and didn't see one at all). Also, the toilet cistern kept running. Considering the hotel price, there should really be better maintenance in place.
