We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children that booked three rooms at Bellwood. I had initially booked the hotel for the stunning views it offers, unfortunately we stayed during a cyclone. Despite this we had an amazing stay at Bellwood and it has become one of my personal favourite hotels of our stay. The hotel is beautiful with lovely large bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The staff were extremely fun and couldn’t have been more helpful. The hotel is a an extra journey from Kandy but worth the extra travel for its quiet picturesque location. The journey to and from the hotel adds to the experience of visiting Sri Lanka

Everything! The location, although quite a way out of Kandy, was perfect for us. Tucked away in the hills with beautiful views and stillness. We chose not to visit Kandy during our stay as we felt so relaxed and rested at Bellwood Hills. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous morning walk with Tharaka and we learned so much from him. Harsha was fabulous at making contact before our arrival, arranging transfers and anything else we needed. We were treated like royalty. The food, and restaurant views, were incredible, the waiters were so friendly and attentive. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough. We left feeling valued and rejuvenated ❤️ we will 100% return.

This isn’t a negative point but be mindful that Kandy is about 40 minutes by tuk tuk. DON’T let this put you off. Just plan your trip into Kandy mindfully, knowing you will come back to your accommodation for peace and tranquility.

We stayed for 3 nights here. It was our first destination in Sri Lanka. We were mesmerised by the view it offered from room. The balcony with vast valley view is just perfect. Food : we had Sri Lankan rice and curry here for the first time. And we realise now it was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. Excellent quality and value for money. Staff behaviour: really polite and always eager to help us. We had best time here. Room: it was a spacious , well decorated room with all amenities. The room was big enough and my daughter was running from one end to another. We loved our stay here.

There was nothing much to complaint about Maybe children play area with some slide, toys will add on.

The view is amazing. You will never have dinner with a better view! The staff is super friendly. I can not thank them enough 🤗. The food was excellent! Jacuzzi on the rooftop with breathtaking views over the valley.

It’s outside of Kandy so it will cost you 2000 rupees and about 30 minutes to go there. I was very happy to stay outside of Kandy as pollution is an issue in the center. The hotel is a bit dated. The gym is small. Overall it’s more like a 7/10 but the view and the value for money make it a 9/10 🤗

The property was breathtaking. Sat on top of a mountain about a 40 minute drive out of Kandy it’s an amazing experience just getting there. Upon arrival you are greeted by the most friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the start. Standout features are the hot tub and rooftop pool, as well as the stunning view from the restaurant. I ate the prawn curry for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The staff are very professional but also are more than happy to have conversation and have a joke if you’re anything like me. The Spa treatment was a lovely way to relax in the morning, and Havsha (the man on reception) organised everything for us for whenever we needed it. Weather it was the Spa treatment, a Tuk Tuk tour of the surrounding area with a fantastic scenic lookout, or even organising us a driver to Columbo, he did it all with zero hesitation.

There is nothing that we didn’t like about the property, which is the honest truth, we couldn’t find a bad thing about the place if we tried!

The Resort is even better than the pictures! We checked in late in the evening and had a tasty Sri Lankan dinner. The room was spacious, well furnished and had a small clean balcony. The view of the tea gardens from the balcony were beautiful. They have a large swimming pool, gym and a hot tub at the terrace area which is open 24/7. Food was good, esp. the Sri Lankan dishes. The staff was really sweet and welcoming.

The location from the Kandy lake is a little far. It's not inconvenient but definitely does add 30 minutes of hilly drive.

The staff here are an absolute delight. Large rooms, all with a balcony overlooking stunning views. Comfy bed. They also arrange a tour of the things I wanted to do in Kandy. The jacuzzi was an absolute bonus and I had a very nice massage. Thankyou to the wonderful staff.

Just be aware that it is in a more remote area but I liked this 😆 A little bit of maintenance is needed.

Beautiful hotel up in the hills out of town. Comfortable rooms and facilities including rooftop pool looking out into the Kandy valley. Staff could not do enough for us. Just when you start to wonder where the heck this place is… you come around a cnr and it sits majestically in the side of the mountain… amazing views.

If you want something slow to town (Kandy) this is probably not for you. About 15-20mins by car or tuk tuk each way into town but it is a lovely drive.

An absolute 💎. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish with great food and attentive service. The cherry on the top was a private barbeque on the roof with a stunning view. Can recommend this to anyone.

The road there needs a bit of maintenance, but there were piles of sand and stones, so that is probably being taken care of pretty soon.

Location was breathtaking. Fabulous staff who did their best. Comfortable room with great views and excellent bed.

Cleanliness could improve. The standard of food options could improve. I do understand the industry is just recovering from the economic situation. Hotel has great potential if improvements made
