The view from the room and bathroom is absolutely stunning! This is the main reason to come here. The windows are floor to ceiling and it's great to be in bed and watching the scenery. The staff were very nice, professional, and quick to help.

The breakfast was mediocre, both in terms of taste and also in variety. I personally would have preferred more savory options. We had lunch once, too, and were not impressed with the taste. Limited wine selection. The laundry was surprisingly expensive! The location is a bit further away, you definitely need tuktuk if you need to eat or buy something.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with an exceptional view, away from the hustle of the city. Room was a fantastic size and we had a great view of the pool and river. We arranged two transfers via the hotel and both were easy.. Pool area very relaxing and massage was great. Whole hotel very clean and quiet. Located away from town but an easy 30min walk and you are at the lake, very easy to get a tuktuk back. We found there were always tuktuks outside to support travel to and from town

I don't know if the hotel can fix this or if this is a Booking.com issue, but prior to arriving I received a lot of spam messages with links. The hotel did contact me to warn me which i appreciated, but I am writing so others don't get caught out. Other than that the stay was perfect

Location, view, friendly restaurant staff and meals.

I got 2 bad experience at the same place in the hotel. 1 is when I'm arriving to the hotel my car got hit the small wall and car buffer got damaged. This happened because nobody was at there to assist me to park the car. 2nd one is when I'm loading my luggags to the car to leave, 2 rusted iron plates where put as very unsafely in the parking area, got hit my leg and my leg was bleeding. Hotel management admitted both scenarios happened due to the carelessness of the staff. Only action took from the hotel management is, they just asked whether I need medicine or not. I didn't see that they cared about my accident seriously. Didn't take any action for getting the tetanus vaccine at all. I have been at Mount Blue hotel for 3 times, but this time it made me disappointed.

The view was amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant staff were incredibly attentive and kind. We have New Year’s Eve menu and breakfast in the restaurant and both were very good.

The jacuzzi was actually a hot tub / bath because the jets didn’t work and hot water wasn’t plentiful enough to fill it so we resorting to topping in up with boiled kettles! The view is amazing but transport is a little difficult as tuk tuks / taxis don’t know where it is or want to collect you from there. Make sure you have google maps ready to give directions to your driver!

The location is outstanding with a wide view of the valley with mountains. The rooms were nicely oriented, and the view was breathtaking. The food was good but not a huge choice. The restaurant staff and reception were all super friendly and welcoming.

We were not aware that they don't do housekeeping if they are not made aware when you check in, which is totally opposite to the standards elsewhere in the world. The pool cleaning boy was always on the phone and does not care if the guest is waiting for getting into the pool. I had to give up and leave the pool since I could hardly conversate with him.

It is a beautiful property with absolutely stunning views from every angle - room, restaurant, pool. The rooms are lovely; clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also top notch with several items to choose from.

We had an extremely difficult time communicating with staff. We had already been traveling throughout the area for the past several weeks, so this was beyond simply a language barrier. Staff would nod, agree, and repeat requests back to us, and yet no action would be taken. This happened many times and it was frustrating. We paid extra to stay here as this was our last night in Sri Lanka and was really looking forward to this experience. The hotel could be completely 5 star if the service could match the property.

Unfortunately, what makes it so attractive- high up on a hill side with magnificent views - it's also a problem. Hard to get transport from. Not impossible, but you must be prepared to wait a whole for a tuk tuk or a car to take you into kandy.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and safe. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed for 25 nights (long trip) while we volunteered at a nearby orphanage and the staff never failed to make sure we had every we needed. Would definitely be back. And you can't beat the view anywhere.

The road getting up to the hotel is very steep and nnarrow. Not the hotels fault but not my favorite thing.

We had a great stay and received a very warm welcome upon arrival. Incredible panoramic views from the bathtub and the shower and balcony views were also amazing. The pool was great, although it would be handy to have a bit more seating/a few more beds. We found you had to tuktuk into town - which isn't a problem, just something to be aware of.

We felt this property was quite expensive, compared to some of the other places we stayed in Sri Lanka in terms of cost versus quality/facilities. We had lots of ants in our room that had come through a gap between the door and door frame. Obviously just one of those things that can't be helped, but we did speak to reception to ask if they had anything to get rid of them - insect repellent or similar. A young chap came up and brushed the ants away with a towel but there was obviously still a trail coming in. Fortunately we found the last of some citronella oil in our bag, so we were able to spray this around the door frame and this stopped any more coming in.
