The staff was amazing, so nice, polite and very helpful. Even when peeking in the kitchen you were greeted with a happy "Hello". The staff at reception, at the restaurant for dinner and the breakfast buffet really know what customer service is. Our room was under the roof, very spacious with a very spacious bathroom and a nice long soaker tub. Everything was really clean. The bed was comfortable with a huge pillow. And there was a little Biberli instead of a chocolate on the pillow. Loved it. They also have binder with all the necessary information in multiple languages. It was not updated yesterday, but it was very comfortable and we were made to feel at home. We value cleanliness and it was very clean. Also loved the AC unit and the great windows with the shutters. We had dinner in the restaurant and all our food was delicious. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of cold cuts, cheeses, jams, wonderful fresh breath, whole cooked eggs, cereal, yoghurt, juices, fresh fruit etc - very nice, fresh and delicious. It was very quiet at night.

It's right on the street into town but with the windows closed and the AC running you didn't hear the street. If I would nitpick I'd say I like my sheets softer and I'd like a lighter blanket but that's all the negative we experienced.

Fantastic, huge room. The bathroom was the size of half of my apartment. Great amenities, nicely furnished. I enjoyed the bathtub! Breakfast room was lovely, breakfast was ok. Very quiet in the room. Good location. Would love to stay here again!

Herisau is a very interesting market town and the hotel is very near the centre. It is well placed for activities, such as walking, in Appenzellerland. Very good breakfast

Fewer cars on the road woould have been good. But it wasn't that bad and didn't stop me from sleeping

Great breakfast, practical clean and functional room. Price very interesting. Location was reasonably accessible from St. Gallen (train every 15min + connecting buses).

This was a gem of a hotel for our St Jakobsweg days end. Conveniently located to end and start the walk. While there was no dining option due to covid, they had take out suggestions. We opted to have a smorgasbord of goodies from Coop. The lounge area was set up with self service plates, cutlery and glasses. Gratis water and Coke was provided. It was very comfortable for our little group of 3 to dine. Even though my room was on the Main Street, I heard no noise and did not see any light through the windows. Breakfast was very good with hard boiled eggs, a meat and cheese platter, yogurts, breads and some fruit.
