I've stayed in the area before, and it's my go-to when arriving in Taipei. It's close to the train station, very centrally located in a vibrant yet safe neighborhood full of food and shopping options. The staff was very friendly and helpful, greeting everyone with a warm smile every time and always up for a good chat. The hotel is basic but clean and well-maintained, offering free coffee and tea 24/7.
Unfortunately, there was only a room without a window left. We made the best of it, but it did feel a bit claustrophobic. The prices fluctuate significantly between weekend and non-weekend rates.

The location was good. Not difficult to find. Close to public transportation. A lot of restaurants around. Staff was nice, friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Soundproof room. There were shampoo and shower gel so you don't need to bring your own. There was a small coffee bar where you could have some coffee and water. Slippers were provided for free.
The noise of the bathroom ventilator was a bit too loud. The standard twin room (No window) was too small for 2 people with big suitcases. If you have big suitcases, I would recommend to book another room type. We had 2 small (20") suitcases and there was no space left.

The WiFi signal is super strong and great for video calls. The room is small but the size was perfect for a solo traveler like me. There was a desk and roomy bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable The staff was super nice and helpful. Really enjoyed the complimentary tea and instant coffee. There is a community fridge you can use to store your leftovers The location is great! Couple minutes walk from the subway station. Lots of good food and drink on the same block. It’s very convenient!
The shower door didn’t close all the way so the water would leak out. I didn’t realize that on the first night so the bathroom floor got quite wet and made the air damp. The rest of the nights I was able to control the water leaking out so it was better

Location was very central, being very near to the Taipei Main Station for me to catch my morning flight (trains start at 0600, I took the 0615 train to Terminal 2 for a 0920 flight). The bigger plus point was that it was near many eateries and I had a chance to try the famous Michelin-star Liu Shan Dong beef noodles two streets away. Room cleanliness was great which was a big factor for me, AC was nice and cold and adjustable. Check-in was seamless, you can leave your luggage with them in the meantime until 4pm when your room and card is ready.
Shower space was a bit small and I was trying my best not to point the showerhead against the door while still being able to wash down... still, there were small gaps through which the water ended up spraying through. There was a slight musty smell after running the shower, I just closed the bathroom door to shut that in. The room though advertised as for 2 persons seems too tight especially if you need to unpack, but since I was on my own this was fine. I couldn't get Netflix to work cause I couldn't figure out the remote pointer :(

Central to a couple Main Station MRT entrances. Will still have to walk a little bit from airport MRT. Very central, next to a couple good food options. Staff was nice, luggage hold was smooth. Price was good. YouTube and Netflix add-on to TV was a plus. Entry via elevator on 2nd floor - access elevator via hallway lobby between the stairs down to Cosmed and rice roll (yellow signed food stall). Good stay for one person.
Windowless option is cheaper though I recommend the window option to help plan for the weather of the day for any stay in Taipei. Like other hotels, no early check in options

This was a nice find and the location was fantastic! It was a quick walk to the MRT exits, though there's a bit of a walk underground until you actually enter the MRT. I also didn't realize TO Hotel is right by Mitsukoshi department store and several fun places to shop so that was nice. POYA is right next door, so if anything is needed, one can just go downstairs and get something. It's definitely convenient to stay by Taipei Main Station, though I would say the prices are higher and the places are smaller. The room itself was bigger than I expected and super clean (and I'm picky). The bathroom is really nice and modern, though for bigger people it might be a bit small. Even I had to sit on an odd angle when using the toilet, since it's so close to the wall and the part of the wall sticks out a bit. I didn't expect it but the towels and sheets were changed everyday unless I hung up the do not disturb sign, so that was nice. There was a mark on one sheet though, and the next day I noticed the duvet had a hole. For some reason, the towels all show signs of fraying. It's a modern hotel, but the towels look like they should be changed out. They appear and smell clean though, so maybe the hotel washers are just super strong... Overall it's quite clean and new looking. The desk appears old but I think that is the style of the place. The fridge is a really nice medium size and has a freezer. There's a larger fridge in the hallway with the water dispenser and coffee, so probably not all rooms have a fridge. There is no wardrobe, but it was nice to have a coat rack to hang jackets and even some laundry. The window is a nice size but the view is just a cramped alley and almost no sunlight comes in especially since it was grey and rainy most days I was there. I ended up closing the blinds most of the time so that I wouldn't have to see the awful view.
The first thing I saw when checking in at night was what appeared to be a homeless person in front of the TO hotel entrance. It kind of freaked me out actually because I didn't know if the homeless person would make a move at me if I tried to enter the door. Every night, the homeless person was there. Either the manager doesn't have the heart to ask them to leave or none of the workers there reported it. How could they not know? The door is glass. Were they all too kind hearted to ask the homeless person to move? I feel bad reporting it, but it really made me uncomfortable to have to go past the homeless person every night I returned to the hotel. They sit on the bench right in front of the hotel security door.

The location was excellent. Very close to the station and also easy to walk to the markets. The staff were very helpful. There was a loud noise one night in my room and the guy working there showed me 3 rooms I could move to. He was really kind. It looked shabby on the outside but inside the hotel was clean and well presented. It reminded me of an airport hotel because of no windows. I didn't hear any noise from the rooms next door. Bed was comfortable also.
Just the loud noise from a pump somewhere that came on one night.

Very clean, perfect location. No meal service but plenty of local restaurants nearby, the main reason why I visited Taiwan. Just several minutes for all public transportation to all destinations. Located in the middle of the private education institutes area so much quieter than Ximending but just ten minutes walking distance from it.
No refrigerator. The hotel uses several floors only from the 2nd floor. it looks like it was renovated recently but the building itself is not maintained well. Looks like all other downtown buildings are the same, so not critical.

I was sold on the very convenient location to Main Station. Located outside the Taoyuan MRT (airport line), look for the Mcdonalds. Room Staff were considerate and helpful, and kept a welcoming space back at base after a long day, with a bed made up which was a small & thoughtful gesture. It is small, it does the job and exceeded my expectations.
This was my 2nd stay here, I did not like the lack of options to store suitcase. In a previous visit (first time) I did arrive at the hotel, however there was limited direction or reassurance where to store luggage. It was a morning flight arrival, there were limited locker options as well in the area. Only an area of improvement is a suggestion for where to store luggage, direction for first time foreigners staying at the hotel. It is a small pet pieve, if flight is an afternoon arrival, it is not an issue.

The only reason it was not ranked higher was because of the value for money. The room was quite small, which would have been fine in and of itself. However, I ended up with an internal room that was windowless. With that in mind, in my view, the room should have been cheaper. Location was great and facilities were all fairly decent too - save for the lack of windows.
Lack of windows. If you are going to be in a windowless room, it should be cheaper than one with windows.
