Nice clean room which is meters away from the beach, with the restaurant / bar being on the beach itself. Loved having breakfast here. Not too many restaurants in the area, but Railay beach is a 10 min walk away, through a bit of a rough trail. Can walk it at night, but you need a torch or headlamp.

The room was big and clean, just 1 minute from the beach. Pleasant environment and very nice staff.

I got food poisoning from the restaurant (the right one facing the beach), be carful when you eat there!

Everything! This was a hidden gem that we booked on a whim. The bungalows are basic but good size and nice and clean. When we arrived there were beautiful monkeys running about in the trees outside the building, there was a huge monitor lizard behind the bungalow and at dusk you can watch the huge flying fox bats come out to roost. It was a nature lovers paradise! The view of the surrounding cliffs is just gorgeous also. We will definitely be returning. Breakfast was decent, bargain for the price. Staff at the hotel were wonderful and so helpful. Staff at bar and restaurant were less so in comparison but no big deal. We just adored this place.

Nothing!

The staff are extremely friendly, the property is absolutely beautiful, the breakfast is great, and the villa is better than expected. I highly recommended staying here.

Tonsai bay is secluded and so you are limited to a handful of food options unless you take the boat to Railay beach or walk to Railay west during low tide or through the jungle path(not recommended if you have young children). There’s no pool and so you will have to swim at the beach during mid to high tide.

We upgraded to the deluxe villa which is certainly worth doing! Room 101 or 102 but looks like they are adding more. These are very modern and pleasant! Would advise this! We loved the location! Was amazing to be so close to the beach!! Read some reviews about ‘Tonsai Belly’ so played it safe at dinner but to be honest, it’s Thailand, it comes hand in hand - we felt fine and had a nice meal! Saw lots of monkeys and a Komodo Dragon too on our walk to Railay beach. Just stayed for one night so we could be close to the beach for abit and would highly recommend doing so!

The drains smell abit and the air con is indeed rather loud but these are minor inconveniences. Could do with a sheer curtain as the rooms look out onto the mail walking path between the rest of the hotel and the beach

Great location right on the beach with a great vibe, nice restaurants and a short walk to Railay for more activities. Overall excellent stay and the staff were so helpful in organising onward travel to our next destination. The island itself is not too busy which is brilliant and the beach is beautiful! Yummy breakfast.

AC was loud and disturbed sleep a little, but it kept it cool! It can be difficult to get to other places depending on the tide as Tonsai is difficult to reach at low tide and so it costs more to rent long tails etc.

We loved the peace and quiet away from the main tourist area. The location was amazing with the beach front views. The staff were friendly, lovely and very helpful. Their big smiles as we arrived was a beautiful welcome. The rooms were extremely clean. The air conditioner was a blessing in the evening. We did not need the air conditioner in the rooms during the day as we were out all day. It is better they save on electricity and help the environment.

The restaurant was on the pricey side but it was worth it for the idyllic scenery. We enjoyed watching a storm roll across the islands out at sea. There is confusion, even with local taxi drivers, where to take the ferry/boat. It is best to take the boat from Ao Nang Beach and NOT Ao Nam Mao Beach. Let Tonsai Beach Resort staff know your arrival time and they will meet you at the beach to take your luggage. This saves walking along the beach with heavy luggage.

Quiet and beautiful bay only accessible by boat. Popular with climbers, but there were all kinds of people as well, including families. The beach was not crowded at all, compared to Railay Beach. There is a whole village kind of hidden in the jungle behind the resort. The hike to Railay Beach is very interesting. In the room we got a bunch of free snacks and water.

The mattress was a little too hard for our liking. The sand on the beach is quite rough and rocky, so we had to buy water shoes in Ao Nang.

This is the only resort with beach access. It has a chill atmosphere, perfect to rest for some days. Right at a beach is the hotel restaurant with delicious food for everyone. The staff has been really helpful, when we got sick (from a restaurant outside the Resort). Thank you again! Be aware: You can only access by boat.

You need to be okay with insects. This resort is clean, but sometimes an unwanted little guest can sneak up in your bathroom.
