Its proximity to Old Chiang Mai City, the International Airport and most other tourist spots. The facilities are well-maintained and clean. There is a small pool but we didn’t use that. Eating area is a cosy setting. The staff were responsive, polite and helpful. Customer service was prompt in responding to my request through booking.com to change a double bed selection to a twin bed one. During our stay, the reception staff were helpful when asked for suggestions to good eating spots/ shopping centres. Breakfast was standard daily consisting of 2 eggs (choice of poached or omelet), some salad, chicken sausages, bread slices and watermelon slices together with a small portion of local dish of stir fried noodles and dessert. There was free flow of coffee and bottled plain water (beyond the standard 2 bottles/room daily) which meant we did not have to purchase extra bottles of drinking water from outside. The refrigerator was always stocked up. Really appreciative of that. A quiet neighbourhood, so we were able to sleep soundly.

The minimalist open design concept took a bit of getting used to. There were metal frames next to the bed and above the bed to hang clothes. The wash basin was next to the bed, outside the washroom and shower. We had to be careful not to have water splashed onto the floor while washing our face. My travel mates were uncomfortable having to pull open the heavy door after toilet use to wash their hands at the wash basin. As for breakfast, it’s good to indicate on the website what to expect so customers can decide whether to take the room + breakfast package.

The hotel was very clean and we had a very comfortable stay. The room was a good size and had everything that we needed. It was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and we were always able to get a sun bed. The hotel offered their own towels and also offered complimentary water. The location was good and we were able to easily walk to different places nearby. We also hired a bike from a local bike rental company which enabled us to explore more of Chiang Mai. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged our transport to Pai for us at a very reasonable price. They also offer a laundry service which was ready within 24 hours, and they air dried the clothes on our request.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. We tried to book to stay again when we returned to Chiang Mai in a fortnight but sadly the hotel was fully booked.

- Located in a quiet and lovely area, I really enjoy walking through the alleys to explore local life. - Easy access to the old city, Khlong Mae Kha and night markets are all in walking distances. - The staff are very welcoming and friendly :) - Free coffee, tea, juice and snacks are available in the common area. - The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable, even makes me don’t want to go out. Just want to stay and relax in my room. - Overall the atmosphere is chill and very cozy, perfect for my holiday in Chiang Mai.

I got a room which is directly connect to the swimming pool on the ground floor, sometimes it could be noisy when people playing in the pool. For me it’s tolerable, but if you’re sensitive to sound or want a quiet environment, maybe it’s better to avoid this room type.

We stayed for 4 days and I did read a lot of reviews before going here. Best receptionist team ever! Very friendly, open and profesional. They serve a decent breakfast (eggs, coffee, ham, hot dog, salad, Thai breakfast and water melon). Coffee and water are all day complimentary for free. They cleaned the room every day and exchanged the towels, filled in the fridge with water and so on. The location is very good if you want some peace and quiet. It’s 9 mine away from 7eleven and great restaurants by foot. We had a room at floor 3 and was ok. The pool is enough to chill on the hot days. Bring ear plugs, see my comment below.

No soundproof what so ever. We heard the alarm clock of our neighbor. There is a problem with the doors, they get slammed and you can hear them loud and clear.

First of all, the staff were outstanding!! Always so polite, talkative and showed care for their guests. They also recommended plenty of local tours and fun things to do in the area. The cleaners were also very mindful of people arriving late at night and would take that into consideration in the mornings. The location was in a good area, with lots to do nearby including markets, cafes, restaurants, gym, washing facilities and much more. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone unsure, and want to thank all the staff for a great stay! Will definitely be returning in the future :)

We did have one night of noisy guests, but as soon as we mentioned the problem to reception it was solved.

Great value for money, friendly staff and comfortable, albeit somewhat simple, room. Simple but delicious breakfast. The staff was accommodating and offered us vegetarian alternatives and even a to-go bag when we had a 5am tour. The hotel is not within the walls of the old town but its location is quite calm and nice. Loads of smaller temples nearby, as well as a busy night market. A big plus is that drinking water is made available around the clock and free of charge. Coffee, tea and snacks too. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Asa and would recommend it for anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of extra walk in exchange of reasonable prices and cozy ambience.

Location is a bit tricky to get used to but it was actually not too bad - we appreciated the silence and quieter environment.

The big spacious family room. There was 1 King bed and 1 single bed. Fit 3 very comfortably and a lot of space for our luggages. I also liked how they had Netflix available and the tv fairly easier to operate than the swankier hotels we stayed in. The other hotels didn’t have Netflix. They also had free brewed coffee and snacks, and water. The ground floor/common area had the hostel feels but it had the facilities and feels of a hotel.

The location. It was a bit far and inconvenient to get to the central area/old city. Not convenient for our mum who is in her 70s to walk from the hotel to the sites considering also the heat during the day. Had to call grab or Tuktuk every time we wanted to get out of the hotel and go somewhere.

The staff in this hotel are simply the best! They were by far the most genuine reception staff we encountered in Thailand. They really care about your experience and how you are spending your time in Chiang Mai - they gave us some really really great suggestions for activities ☺️ The hotel is immaculately clean and the beds were extremely comfortable! We slept so so well here. The pool area is also lovely and the free water and juice are also a really nice touch ☺️. It is quite a basic hotel, but everything they offer is done to a very high standard! Wonderful staff, trustworthy and extremely clean. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

The location could be a little closer to the centre of chiang Mai but overall we found Chiang mai to be quite spread out but grabs are very cheap!

Great & clean pool area. Very friendly & welcoming staff who can help you with everything and anything including tours, food recommendations and renting a motorbike. Free snacks & drinks throughout the day too was great. The room was clean & comfortable like a hotel room but for a great price! We have decided to come back and stay here again on our way back because it was the best hotel we’ve stayed at our entire trip - would 100% recommend if you’re after a lovely & chill hotel. Big thanks to Mimi & the team at ASA.

If you’re a backpacker then it’s not very social and the location is just outside the old quarter which isn’t a problem you just have to grab or walk 15 minutes(ish) to get to the main places inside the old quarter

During our Travels (3months) this is probably the best Hotel. It’s modern and super clean. Has a lovely pool. The bed was the most comfortable we have had. Shower is powerful and if you turn it up, gets super hot. A/C is nice and cool. So clean, comfortable and a pool. Also the do a good breakfast. With complimentary Tea , Coffee, Juice and Water (all the time), and even some nibbles. Many reasons to Book. Now the part that puts it in a different league. The Staff! They are amazing, super Friendly and lots of local knowledge and advice; and speak very good English. We were particularly impressed by Mie Mie, who is on reception and greeted us every time she sees us. She is a great asset to the Hotel. And Arm , who is also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this Hotel is you are visiting Chiangmai.
