This hotel is quite good value. The staff were friendly and the pith-helmeted doormen/keepers of the classic cars were especially eager to please going above and beyond. They provided an excellent face of the hotel. the building is an interesting take on colonial architecture though it is in no way a genuine historic building. The spa is excellent.
The entertainment options were a little limited. A DVD library in this day and age seems a little anachronistic. I'd rather be able to stream from my device to a smart TV. The globe in my bedside lamp blew twice. This is a minor inconvenience but it's reflected in the low score I've given for lighting.

The hotel is a true "boutique hotel"; it is of a reasonable size, well designed in the elegant Thai style. It is well located, in a quiet area of Chiang Mai. It is far enough from the tohu-bohu of the city, close enough to reach the city centre conveniently in a short time by tuck-tuck or taxi, or in a comfortable walk of 20 minutes. The hotel also provides free transport to the city centre in a vintage Mercedes that is a wonderful experience in itself. There are restaurants of various quality around the corner in addition to a wonderful daily night market, which provides not only artisanal items but also a diversity of souvenirs and many food stalls. All staff is exceptionally professional, friendly and helpful at all times. We were treated with courtesy and respect from our arrival to our departure, each staff member was generous in making our stay most comfortable, which did not mean to go beyond the obvious to made us feel welcome. The rooms are well appointed, a little outdated in their decoration maybe, but the Thai flair was everywhere, which we personally appreciated, given our wish to experience the culture rather than international atmosphere. We sincerely valued the comfort, the cleanness, the equipment and the view from the balcony. The king bed was very comfortable, bedlinens, towels and bathrobes of very good quality. Breakfast was served, both buffet and menu, providing a range of food, both Thai and international. We do not share some reviews on internet that complain about the lack of diversity; we enjoyed every of our 10 breakfasts and never felt that anything was missing. The bar is worth a visit, inside and outside on the veranda; it is very well decorated and the range of drinks on offer is generous. There is a friendly and experienced tour operator on site. We booked a tour with him and were not disappointed: while using a common itinerary, it also provided us with some extras upon our request.
We liked everything in fact. Nevertheless, we can provide some areas for improvement: The swimming pool is well presented and clean. However, it does not benefit from the sun and the water is very cold. A cold plunge is nice after a long day of sightseeing, but this was too cold for us. In addition, the lounge chairs should be provided with comfortable mattresses. When it comes to the restaurant, guests must book 24 hours in advance and select from 3 or 4 menus at the time of the booking. Room service is closed after 4.30pm. While the context of the limitations is understandable, and there are many restaurants around the corner, we’d loved to eat lightly at the hotel on some evenings rather than walking to restaurants outside.

If you want to stay where you are treated like royalty then ping nakara is the place for you . from the moment you arrive to the moment you say farewell you are treated like a long lost friend. we stayed in a grand deluxe double and it was very luxurious , spacious and comfortable . breakfast next to the pool had plenty of choices. when we returned in the evenings we sampled a few cocktails, the barman definitely knows his trade . they were amazing . we don't want to leave this little piece of heaven and return to the u.k. 😔 all the staff make this a very special place ❤️

What a beautiful boutique hotel ! Just like the pictures, you arrive at a wonderful "colonial"style hotel with excellent staff all the way and classy spacious rooms away from all the touristy buzz of chiang mai. Nice pool although just a few sun hours and a bit chilly water. The whole hotel is immaculately clean. Breakfast and staff is very good ! The more than friendly staff at reception and parking lot are happy to bring you to and around the city centre with the beautiful oldtimer mercedes(upgraded;)) Don't forget to tip them ! Bar staff is always ready ready for you !
We didn't visit the spa because of the huge difference in prices.

Colonial style building just 19 rooms so a lovely change from modern hotels. Near to a number of restaurants and the night market. Good swimming pool which was in the shade in the afternoon. Breakfast was a little more modest than larger hotels but was lovely, some buffet and then hot choices to order. Lovely staff. Hotel happy to look after our luggage while we took a trip for a few days further North.
Both good and bad but was too far to walk into the old city in the heat. Taxi or tuktuk only thb150 and could probably have bartered that down a bit. It was just outside the pickup zone for a tour we did but we contacted them and our pickup was added. Colonial style bedrooms with teak were quite dark in poor external light conditions. As is common for the area you need to be prepared for mosquitos this time of the year.

The building was interesting, colonial in style, and very different from regular modern hotels. We had a very nice room on the third floor with a lovely balcony. Bed and bedding very comfortable although the single beds were a bit small. Breakfast nice and a great option was the northern Thai set which I enjoyed . All the staff were friendly and efficient, and made us very welcomed. Location was good.
The only snag is that the shower cubicle requires deep cleaning as it was rather mouldy and some cracks have appeared.

The hotel is beautiful. Breakfast nice. Room were very pretty. Many elegant details, like the driver in vintage Mercedes for short complimentary rides. Pool was beautiful and perfect for cooling down..
Unfortunately the air conditioning in our room was not working right. The room was at a temperature of 29C in the coolest setting of the air conditioning. With a heat wave outside of 40C that feels like 49C, getting to a boutique hotel at 29C was not good enough to cool down. The manager offered us to change to 2 other rooms, but all were at the same temperature. Thanks God at night the temperature was a few degrees lower and we could sleep. The manager promised to check on the repair. So when you go it should be ok.

This is hands down one of the best hotels my partner and I have ever stayed in! First off, the hotel itself is gorgeous—charming colonial architecture that looks even better in person than in the photos. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious. We slept soundly and felt rested and relaxed. On that note, the spa is wonderful, highly recommend getting a message there. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, especially the Thai food offerings. But beyond all that, what really stood out was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We felt welcomed and at home. Will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Chiang Mai!
No complaints! It was a perfect stay

Very charming boutique hotel in a colonial style with great old fashioned facilities including a colonial library, and nice swimming pool. Good breakfast with lots of fresh options on demand. Great staff, nice large rooms, super comfortable beds. Good location near the night market, a 20-min walk to the old town but the hotel offers a free taxi service there in a vintage 1955 Mercedes, really cool experience.
Rooms are a teeny bit dated, location is good but not the most central.
