Great value, we booked a private pool villa and it was such a great decision! The villa was very private and we really had a fantastic stay. Staff and housekeeping were very nice, location was great, right by the beach, and still in downtown Chaweng, just a short walk to the shopping centre, restaurants and nightlife. I am so pleased we found Montien House.

The only thing I would point out is that the beach outside the resort is located in front of the breaksea barrier, so the water is not the best for swimming, its more of a lagoon, and not as nice as it is further down Chaweng beach, but an easy few minutes walk and you are at the best part of the beach, so really no issue.

This place is right in the heart of all the action in Chaweng.. Got here in Early December and Samui was still quiet from Covid. It has a nice pool over looking the ocean, easy access to the beach, and walking. During high tide going to the left gets a bit tricky ... Dinning area is nice and the food was good. Happy hour is good. The staff and house cleaning is great and they will help out with all sorts of things

So, it is Chaweng.... you need to know that every alley, every hotel every part of Chaweng is PARTY ON!! But the nice thing is that Covid has cause a few places to remodel or close, this hotel has a few clubs around it, so if you are looking to not hear any noise, say after 11pm then maybe you need to get out of chaweng.. I had a great room 102, so I barely heard the disco but I would stay here again, just lettting you know... it is Chaweng...

The staff at the hotel was so amazing and accommodating! They offered to call transportation to all areas around the island and could even help you book tours and other things to do. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from the breakfast area, and the food was delicious as well. The location in terms of the city is pretty good since it’s next to a lot of bars, restaurants, and shops although the mall and night market is a bit of a walk it’s definitely still walking distance.

Although our room was nice, they were ants everywhere and they would get all over our stuff. There was a cute little pool, but you couldn’t really swim in the ocean right in front of the hotel because it was a little gross and dirty, so we had to walk a few minutes down the beach to get super clear water.

This is not the first time we have stayed in this hotel. That's why we knew where we were going. We asked to be moved to the second floor, as the room on the first floor is damp. The room was spacious, and everything was fine with us. The breakfasts are wonderful. Sun beds by the pool overlooking the sea are available in the morning. The hotel is located in the center of Chaweng's life, there is everything you want within walking distance, but you don't hear any noise in the room. The staff is very friendly. Maybe we'll come back here again.

The only negative was that the water smelled musty. Therefore, teeth should be cleaned with bottled water.

This hotel is located right on the beach with gorgeous views. It's also right off the main strip of Chaweng Beach. If you want a place that feels quiet and secluded, but close to the action, then this place is perfect. I actually came here for 1 night and ended up staying for 3 weeks. I just love how one minute you can be chilling on the beach, then you walk 5 minutes to the main road and you are right where everything is happening in Chaweng. The stafff are all so nice and friendly, the whole property and rooms are well cleaned, there is an amazing bathroom that is very spacious, hot shower, closed in shower doors to keep water from the floor. It's really just the best. Stay here! You won't regret it!

We have stayed several times at Montien always in a cottage. We like them, the cottages are big enough with a terrace nested in a lush tropical garden. Breakfast is very good at the restaurant overseeing the sea. Staff is always very kind and helpful. Apart from the occasional planes overhead the Montien is in a quiet part of Chaweng. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, markets, massage around…you are in the heart of Chaweng. We recommend the Montien which is very good value for the price.

Strangely the beach in front disappeared at high tide every morning and is still much narrower at low tide than it used to be.

I love this hotel. I was originally staying inland in koh samui, just a block or two off the beach, and I was just SO HOT. I came to this hotel for 1 night and was right on the water, with a breeze constantly blowing, and I fell in love with the place. I liked this place so much that I asked if I could stay here long term and I ended up staying for 3 weeks. The rooms are some of the nicest I have stayed at in Thailand with an amazing shower with doors on it! The beds are very soft and so are the pillows. There is a pool right on the beach and the property has a beautiful garden you walk through daily. What more could you ask for? The food is so so, but that's hardly at the top of my list for what makes a place good. We just went out to the millions of restaurants around and weren't bothered by it. The staff are all very friendly as well!

the food could use some improvement

This is probably the best value for money I got in Koh Samui so far. I stayed in a villa with a pool. Everything was so tastefully done and clean. The pool bar is amazing, with high quality cocktails.

The only thing that shocked me was that the hotel cannot arrange a taxi to the airport, unless you pick the time that suits their transportation company. So we had to take care of it ourselves. In general, I found the service at the reception somewhat formalistic, but this seems to be a general trend in Thailand and worlswide, sadly... But the restaurant service was warm and welcoming, cudos to them!

the mosquitos, the staff, the location, the pool, everything is as described and mentioned by others reviews.. so no suprises for us at all.. we will stay again if we had a chance..

This was a return visit. The location is very central, perfect for us. We were offered free breakfast by the hotel as returning guests. Good choice of food for breakfast. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were cleaned every day. We stayed in small wooden bungalows with lovely gardens. The gardens provide the feeling of privacy when you sit on the balcony. The friends we travelled with had been to Chaweng previously and they also enjoyed the hotel and location.
