Probably the friendliest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We arrived at 8.30 am expecting to have to wait until the afternoon to check in to the room, they had us in room and comfortable by 9am, breakfast at 9.30, just perfect. At reception the staff were on first name terms with lots of guests, and everyone had a smile on their face. Guests and staff. The room was great, little kitchen complete with a washing machine, fridge, hob etc. Nice pool, nice breakfast/ dining area. Beer and soft drinks available at really good prices. Probably even cheaper than the shop next door. Stunning sunsets from the balconies. We only stayed three nights, but plenty of other guests were staying for a month or more. It’s very quiet in the area, so once you’ve exhausted the local restaurants, maybe need a taxi to go further afield, but Thai taxis are well priced.

The sister hotel is where the beach is. It’s a huge hotel on the other side of the hill, transport takes you there. But, when you are there, the prices for any food or drink are extortionate. Really, they could halve the price of a beer, soft drink, any food offering and still be more than double the price elsewhere. I realise it’s a hotel price, but they really don’t need to fleece clients to that extent. Truly shocking. I’ve spent time in Switzerland and paid less for the same things. And that, when compared to the excellent value that Kantary bay offers, just felt wrong and a bit dirty as they know the location is isolated, so any choices are minimal. It’s a nice beach there. But not so nice that I’d ever go back to be fleeced again.

We have stayed a few times before so knew what to expect. Probably the most outstanding aspect was the friendliness and cooperation of the staff. They were all first rate and made us feel right at home. We also liked the breakfast and the general atmosphere of the hotel. We love the Kantary facilities but also value the beach and other activities at Cape Panwa that we were able to access. We will return!!!

The only aspect we didn't like is having to climb so many steps to access the reception area. We are getting older and steps are not are friends. We are thrilled that an additional elevator is being installed between the ground floor and reception.

With serviced apartments and polite staff, the property is both affordable and comfortable. Although the property is at the end of the road at Cape Panwa and therefore away from the action at west coast beaches, use of the sister property’s white sand beach (Panwa Beach), including their in-house shuttle and beach towels, is just a minute or two away. The inclusive breakfast buffet was pretty good too, with some healthy choices, such as cut fruit, grilled potatoes, and soy milk. We stayed longer than originally planned! Kantary hotels are, in our experience (having stayed at other Kantary properties), a reliable organization offering spacious condo-style rooms with kitchens, bedrooms, balconies, etc., which are fantastic for families and long-stay tourists. At the Kantary, here at Cape Panwa, we swam at the beach during mornings and evenings (on higher tides only), lounged under the beach umbrellas provided, drank cold refreshing coconuts from the restaurant, and enjoyed the ocean view from the air-conditioned apartment, away of the hot afternoon sun. Evenings offered us time to eat or buy fruits from the many oceanfront street vendors adjacent to the property, visit nearby restaurants, or have high-quality deserts from the bright little Kantary Cafe near the hotel's entrance. This is all to say that the room, beach, food, and staff were beyond our expectations, and we are no strangers to tourism or Phuket, having both lived and worked in the tourism industry over many years. Note that the reservation manager, "Khun Bow", and "Khun Chat" at the front desk, showed exceptional hospitality!

There is nothing that we didn't like! As mentioned above, the room, beach, food, and staff were beyond our expectations. I rarely ever say this about a property, but this was our experience.

The breakfast had good variety. Rooftop pool had very nice view.

The beach area is in the sister hotel accessible with a shuttle. No elevator for lobby area, difficult for people with mobility difficulties.

The 2 pools were both great and well maintained. No issues with sunloungers.Had a great room on the 4th floor Friendly staff and guests.mainly older age groups.Quiet hotel no rowdy groups. Old colonial style hotel.lovely gardens.Relaxing reading/coffee room. Have access to the sister hotels beach and beach pool, with free shuttle available.Nice restaurants and street food carts evey night.

The rooms are a bit old and outdated, upgrading is required..Apartments should have complimentary dish detergent and cloth.Kitchen sink only has cold water to do dishes. 2 teabags a day is not enough.Free shuttle is a bit slow. An ice machine in hotel would be a great idea.

The staff was helpful, the room was big and nice.

Breakfast was mediocre. The only big problem was the beach at Panwa (basically the only beach option nearby): after like 3 steps into the water it got so rocky and filled with corals that it was almost impossible to go through without hurting yourself or without special shoes. There is one "entrance", a special sideway built in where you can walk into the deeper water where you can swim but it ruins the whole experience quite a bit.

The warmest of welcomes despite early arrival presented with chilled drinks and made comfortable. The whole hotel is like a film set ('reminds me of Raffles' was husband's comment on first arriving in foyer) The breakfast room in particular is absolutely gorgeous. The staff, particularly those working in reception are outstanding in their hospitality. The grounds are gorgeous - as are the pools. The facility to use beach at Panwa, and the courtesy shuttles there are a massive perk. Loved the reading room and bookswap library.

The shuttle buses cd be a bit erratic. It wd be helpful to improve communication between shuttle drivers and reception staff informed so they could advise guests when a longer wait is to be expected.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and the room was beautiful. The view from the room was even more beautiful.

Location is isolated away from everything. The beach they take you to by shuttle has many shells and dried coral, its hard to walk on. Transportation is extremely expensive, and there are only 3 restaurants nearby. Also found a used razor head in my bathroom that was not mine which was gross.

Kantary Bay Hotel We spent 13 nights at the Glorious Kantary Bay Hotel, Phuket in December 2023. We are now planning our next holiday and will once more be staying at the Kantary Bay Hotel. I have stayed in many, many hotels, but none have made me feel the way this hotel has. This hotel is filled with love. It is obvious the staff enjoy their work, and it shows in little touches, attention to detail, the plants, the gardens, it all just feels so loved and cared for in a way other hotels fail. Our room was on the 3rd floor, I had requested a quiet room on a high floor, and I appreciated that the hotel acted on my request. There is a lift, but we only used it a couple of times. The room was great, really great! There is a bed area, the bed very comfy, a living area with a comfy sofa, armchair and TV. The free Wi-Fi was faultless. A kitchen area, with a sink, a hob, a fridge, and a microwave, plus all the pots and pans you could wish for and a small dining table and chairs. I absolutely loved it. We were there on a Bed and breakfast board; the breakfast didn’t disappoint. Absolutely everything you could wish for with good coffee and a rather wonderful egg man that could do anything that it is possible to do with eggs. The public areas I can only describe as Art Deco meets colonialism meets Thai, deliciously put together. Again, it is the little touches of love that set this hotel apart from the rest. There are 2 pools, one just off reception and another rooftop pool. For anyone who finds amazing sunsets irresistible, this is your go place, utterly spectacular. The gardens are not massive, but I enjoyed spending time there. Ther are huge butterflies, amazing insects, I saw hummingbirds, ferns palms, and so many orchids. All put together in an amazing hotch potch of planters, these gardens are truly loved. I spent ages just snooping around, seeing what was new, what was in bud, wondering at the sheer perfection of tropical flowers. Lastly, I must mention the staff, who

I didn't like leaving! I cried, I cannot wait to get back at the end of the year.

This is one of the best hotels in Phuket - the price-to-quality ratio is probably one of the best around. You get access to two swimming pools, a great area around the hotel, and even a night market next to it. The staff is always smiling and ready to help. Good WiFi, great rooms, and lots of additional small touches make this place a hidden gem. There is also a shop in the hotel and a small cafe/bakery. Breakfasts are large, with a massive selection of foods. With this hotel, you also get access to the nearby Cape Hotel - and there you'll find an amazing private beach, access to a swimming pool, sun loungers, and beautiful gardens. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. You could say it's "European" standard - nothing is missing. It's one of the best hotels we've been to; we really felt like family. It's always nice when in a larger hotel, the staff remembers you and is happy to talk and help out when needed. It's a true gem in Phuket. The hotel is very well located - it's on the quiet side of the island, yet walkable distance to dozens of restaurants around. It's a quick taxi ride from all the top spots. We left something precious in our hotel room, and the staff quickly found it and sent it to us with a courier - we are extremely grateful for this.
