The best thing about our stay was the breakfast - if you like Turkish breakfast, this is for you! Shout out to the lady (I forgot her name, sorry! She had dark hair, a fringe, ponytail), she was so friendly and welcoming. As this was my second time visiting Cappadocia, I wanted to stay in a higher quality hotel than a lower standard one which might be more "Instagrammable" or have better views of the balloons. The hotel is perfect for those who don't like a hike as most of the hotels are on a hill but this is just off the main strip in Goreme. Our room was spacious and clean, it even had a little nook for sitting. We requested for a quiet room and I am so glad they gave us room 50, which was located on the opposite end to the main entrance (right next to a back door out to a dead-end street) - much appreciated!

A couple of things which dropped the score: 1) The shower cubicle door did not close which meant our bathroom floor was always wet. 2) Bathroom sink had a constant sewage smell when it was dry/not in use, probably due to the pipework. 3) Purely a personal preference - the bathroom toilet was black which made it impossible tell if they were actually clean or not. 4) My room was not a cave room but yet it offers a cave feel as it was really dark. I had to go outside to apply makeup.

This hotel is secure and in a central location that is perfect for solo female travellers without a car. The swimming pool is small, so great for a relaxing dip, but not appropriate for exercise (although travellers can use larger pools at other hotels for a fee). There is a nice selection of contemporary European fusion food at the hotel restaurant and many good Turkish and International restaurants nearby. All staff (reception, dining, housekeeping and technical) were highly professional and provided an outstanding, faultless service. English is spoken fluently by reception and adequately by most staff.

A few of the rooms have very little storage space (i.e., only a hanging rack with no wardrobe, draws or cupboards) which is fine for a short-stay solo traveller, but maybe not for a couple staying more than a few days. I would advise prospective guests to check the room specification with the hotel prior to booking. The hotel is arranged over several levels that are not all accessible by lift which may not be appropriate for the elderly or travellers with physical disabilities. Again, travellers with limited mobility are advised to check prior to booking.

Breakfast was extraordinarily good with a very attentive and kind waitress Fatma, who made our stay unforgettable. Spa facilities are nice and the view from the hotel terrace in the morning for looking at the hot air balloons is marvellous.

Some spa employees watched videos with highest volume in the spa area, while they were waiting for their clients. Should not happen in the spa area, where people want to relax.

LOOK NO FURTHER!! Book this place ASAP... and try to book the balcony room! I'm pretty sure there's only one balcony room and it's the best room in the whole place! The view out the french door is of the city below and one of the giant fairy chimneys!! Plus, you can watch the hot air balloons in the comfort of your bathrobe from your own private balcony! It's magical! Also worth noting, the service at Carus is EXCEPTIONAL!!! We felt like royalty! Fatma (the breakfast manager) was super attentive and always made sure we had anything we wanted from the moment we walked into the restaurant in the morning! The dinner manager and staff were equally as great! And the reception staff spoke perfect English and helped us multiple times with questions. One night, while watching the sunset from the rooftop terrace, we met one of the owners of the hotel. He had an adorable dog that we wanted to pet. When we went back to our table, he walked over and said "drinks are on me tonight!" Then 10 or 20 minutes later, one of the servers came over and said "The boss would like to offer you a glass of Turkish wine!" We couldn't believe how hospitable and generous he was!! On our last night there, we sat in the gorgeous lobby and chatted with a couple of the reception staff, while petting the hotel dog Kara! When we got up to go back to our room, they asked if they could send us a fruit plate to enjoy! We felt soooo cared for and special while staying here!! I really can't emphasize it enough! Oh and the hotel room and grounds are absolutely stunning and immaculate! We were taking pictures right and left because everywhere you look is beautiful! Best hotel we saw while in Cappadocia, by far!

The location was very central to the town, and the decor and setting were modern and beautiful. The daily breakfast was generous and the rooftop views can't be beat! Fatma was particularly helpful and offered great service at the restaurant.

Likely due to the rain that occurred right before our arrival, the room was musty and damp (although this is to be expected staying in a cave). We couldn't use the rooftop the first night due to the rain. While the service was good, we didn't experience the same top service others have referenced in their reviews.

Beautiful amenities, incredible views from property especially the rooftop restaurant/terraces. The management and staff members were extremely helpful and friendly! We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends, family or anyone who is looking for the best stay in Goreme. You’re walking distance from literally Everything! We had a car rental, so the hotel provides designated valet parking in front of their hotel. They also will help organize day trips and activities for you during your stay. The spa amenities were great! Loved the pool and sauna.

Nothing. Everything was great.

The property was located within walking distance to all that is needed during your stay which is great. They organised our balloon flight and transport to with morning wake up call which was super helpful also. They assisted with my wife medical needs obligingly and respectfully. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms meticulously cleaned daily and replenished with bottled drinking water and alike. Staff were all friendly and extremely hospital. Breakfast was lovely and well catered for. Breakfast staff were very attentive to guests needs - well done. Motel is just stunning at night time and lots of lovely quiet areas to sit and relax during the day/evenings and admire the view.

The music speaker for the restaurant right outside our bedroom window was a little noisy when trying to sleep. May not be necessary especially when no restaurant guests were sitting in the outside area of the restaurant to listen to it.

The hotel room is comfortable and they provide fantastic services throughout the hotel to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The hotel pool is quite pleasant to relax after a hot day outside. Breakfast is great and the staff are very attentive. The hotel restaurant has an amazing view.

Understand Goreme is a very touristy town but wish Haruna Restaurant (hotel restaurant) will offer a more authentic menu. As the price range is quite high compared to other restaurants around, we struggle to justify dining there when the menu looks too tourist centric. It does however offer an amazing view and wonderful atmosphere.

Room was spacious. The doctor was very rustic and pleasant. Our room had very easy access to the street and to the very nice terrace that was a gathering place in the evenings. The Euro cup was happening when we were there so it was nice to go up there and watch a few matches with others. The shower, although small, but had the water pressure i have never experienced. I also liked the fact that the bathroom was separate room divided by a small hall way.

I would have preferred an extra electrical outlet bcz between our watches, phones and tablets, my husband and I had to take turn charging our electronics. The sink area with the wall mirror was very very dark. We had to use my phone flash to apply a little make up or for shaving in my husband's case. I did inquire about it and was told it is the "cave" vibes!

The hotel is amazing cant fault it location is bang on in the middle with walking distance to anywhere you wish hotel also provides day trips to open air musuems day tours and all sorts the travel compony they work with are great and have many option to choose from the hotel staff from receptionists to cleaners to waiters and chef are all amazing, and I must highlight the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Fatma From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she offered insightful recommendations that proved to be spot-on. Throughout the meal, she was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were always full and checking in at just the right times. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor truly elevated our visit, making it memorable. Fatma is a true asset to the team, and her outstanding service deserves recognition. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!
