After our stay at Doruk Palas, I don't think I can ever stay in another hotel in Istanbul. Location is great - in Pera, just south of Galata tower, which makes it ideal if you like to walk (~30 mins to the main attractions like Agia Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc.). You also have the option of taking public transport - ask the guys at the hotel and they will easily hook you up with whatever you need. Pera is also a neighborhood with plenty of shops and restaurants, just a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was great, and the coffee is of a high standard (as it should be, in Türkiye). Tip: you don't need to limit yourself to whatever is at the buffet - the staff are always happy to make you eggs, in any form you want. But let's get to the most important part: (Mr.) Osman, the manager, was the highlight of our entire trip. If you're lucky, he will follow you into the elevator and walk you to your room. If you're even luckier, he will stay for a while and take a nap (he's super busy, and can always use some rest). Osman is a cat, btw. I cannot stress enough how amazing the owner(s) and staff of this hotel are. We got to know everyone very well in just a few days, and had a blast talking to them, finding out more about the city, but also about them on a personal level. The ambience they've created in the hotel is one of warmth and a feeling like you belong there, like you're part of a family- so much so, that we even met other hotel guests and even ended up hanging out with them in the city to do tourist stuff! Can't wait to be back to Istanbul and to see Osman again!

We stayed at the Doruk Palas for 5 days/4 nights the experience was just great. Location - 10/10 we basically walked to the old city and the night life in Beyoğlu. Metro & ferry stations were in walking distance whenever required. Food - 10/10 wholesome, fresh and very delicious. For all the days, we had breakfast and went out walking to explore the places of interest and never had to stop for lunch, a perfect way to end your day at one of the many highly rated restaurants. Comfort - 10/10 Functional, clean and comfortable, high levels of cleanliness Staff - 10/10 Service with a smile!! Everyone here is so warm, helpful with anything you may ask - from a welcoming chat to any logistical questions to recommendations on restaurants or things to do. Just a warm human touch to the whole experience that we feel that we now have friends in a foreign country.

Our parents and our little family had a very nice stay at Doruk Palas Hotel. There was a very friendly contact with the people in the hotel, both on arrival as during our stay with advice and during cosy breakfasts. The hotel is situated within walking distance from the beautiful old town and close to the shopping street in the new part of Istanbul. If you prefer a small, well situated, ultra clean, cosy and above all warm and friendly hotel rather than a giant impersonal building, look no further. On top of that, we appreciated the fine humour with which our teenage daughters too felt very welcome.

Delighted to have chosen this small hotel for our recent trip to Istanbul. We arrived to a very warm welcome and throughout our week long stay, the staff team were exceptional. 🤩 Everyone was so kind and friendly and we felt truly at home here. Breakfast was excellent and hotel very central to Galata tower area and Cihangir which we loved. Also an easy walk down to tram or ferry port to get to the famous sites and also to the Balat district which was a fab neighbourhood❤️ special shout out to Mr Osman and his apprentice Simba.. they were adorable 😻 Thank you for your wonderful hospitality

First and foremost the staff. Mohamed, Ahmet, Hassan and Amir were so welcoming, they made us feel completely at home and settled from the minute we arrived until the minute we sadly had to leave. They made a wonderful holiday even more special. We loved our daily Turkish lessons! Thank you to all! All the staff are expertly overseen by head of operations and security Mr Osman the cat and his new little sidekick and apprentice Simba the kitten. They are an absolute delight and gave us hours of entertainment just watching their antics. Simba the kitten absolutely stole our hearts - they make a wonderful team! We had an amazing view out towards the Suleymaniye mosque and loved watching the twinkling lights and goings on at night. The hotel is ideally situated in close walking distance to the metro. The close proximity to the Halic bridge also provides an easy and pleasant walk over to the Eminonu district and opens up the tram network for further easy transport options around Istanbul. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again when we are next in Istanbul. Caroline and Jonathan

On a quiet street just 200m from the Beyoglu metro station we found this modern boutique hotel. It was surrounded by lighting stores with the biggest and best chandeliers etc so well lit and safe! The room was well designed and compact with everything you needed. We were upgraded on the last night to the top floor and watched trains cross the Golden Horn on the bridge and disappear into a tunnel directly under our hotel, we never heard a rumble or anything! We arrived at 9.45am from Perth and were greeted with “welcome, please leave your bags there and enjoy some breakfast (there was a spread on a long table!) Tea? Coffee? Eggs? Later the manager came over and said “ how was your breakfast? The other guests have just checked out so your room will be ready in about 20 minutes “ The service was 5.5stars! We chatted with the manager about his cat and recommendations for a rooftop seafood restaurant! Nothing was a problem we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! We walked to the shopping strip to Taksim Square, took a train to the Grand Bazaar etc and he arranged a taxi to the cruise terminal!

Proximity to a mosque but this is a Muslim country and the culture of it is why we travel there!!!

Excellent stay at Doruk Palace. The room was spacious and clean and we had a decent breakfast included. The location is a few mins walk to the Galata tower and the Shishane Metro Station. You can walk a little further to reach Istiklal Street or walk down to the Karaköy riverside/bridge/ferry/tram stop or take the Tunel Funicular - so many options with this location and not far from a range or restaurants and shops. What tops it all are the owner and his excellent staff who make everyone feel well looked after and always have a smile. Special thanks to the tall young man who helped us with luggage, drinks and some good football conversion! Well recommended

We had a lovely 4 nights at Doruk Palas and will certainly stay again when we return. The hotel is conveniently situated close to Sishane station, Galata Tower and other major public transport routes. Our room with private balcony was spacious, clean and had an unbeatable view of the Golden Horn and Sultanahmet. There is a 24/7 reception with some of the most lovely and attentive staff who made sure we had a good stay and arranged our airport transfer. Breakfast was delicious and provided for exactly what we needed to start the day. We had a lovely 4 days in Istanbul due in part to the hospitality and stay at Doruk Palas.

The hotel is located on a slope only few minutes walk from Galata Tower, where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. There is also a small supermarket near the tower where you can purchase snacks and drinks. The staffs were extremely friendly. Besides answering the questions we had about the city, they called the taxi for us, which saved us time and effort for negotiating the fare. Breakfast was amazing with so many variety of Turkish side dishes to choose from. P.S. There is a cat named "Mr. Osman the security guard", and he is absolutely adorable.

It maybe a challenging walk down hill for some to reach T1 metro line, which takes you to the major tourist spots such as Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.
