Breakfast was fine, with an extensive buffet selection. Dishes cooked to order were good. The location was ideal, being on the waterfront and close to many restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the sea view from my room spectacular

The air conditioning/heating: it was not easy to maintain a constant temperature. Bedroom doors tend to slam shut unless held back, so guests leaving early in the morning or arriving back late at night disturb other guests. No drawers in wardrobe, desk, or bedside tables, although enough hanging space. Bread at breakfast was not good quality and was often not very fresh. Plenty of excellent bread available elsewhere in the city.

High quality service, starting from your entrance to the hotel - extremely helpful staff, ready to support (literally, all - guys at the reception, breakfast/lunch, parking). Extra clean rooms, not a single fleck of dust! Nice location, offering the opportunity to have breakfast with great sea view in a calm atmosphere. Wallet parking, convenient, not free of charge, though, but still a good option. New Year decorations were amazing and I hardly restrained myself not to eat cookies houses :)

Nothing negative. It was amazing stay and we definitely come back, having more time to explore Izmir itself. Top ranking in Marriott lists very well deserved! Thank you all, fantastic Marriott Izmir Team!

The staff from the reception to the breakfast to the bar are exemplary. The team pays attention to even the minute of details and that’s makes a huge difference. Especially the person manning the bar in the mornings. Has the patience to even several of request back to back each time with a smile and without hesitation. My family is huge with little kids and elders. Having checked out of Le meridian in Bodrum with a very bad experience of hospitality, At this place Everyone were happy with the services and had a smile when they checked out .Value for money. Don’t know if I might come to Izmir again but if I do, I will be definitely staying at this place.

The room was very good quality, clean and well designed. I particularly liked the motion activated lights on the floor - a very nice touch!! The swimming pool was a really lovely and serene experience.

The coffees at breakfast could have been better. I ordered a cappuccino most mornings and the coffee tasted over extracted and bitter and the milk was overheated and not frothy.

It was clean room, very nice options for SPA, great rooftop with swimming pool and view. Also the fitness room was clean and not crowded at all.

Rooftop sometimes got taken by business meetings. This is weird, because business people can meet on the floor with meetings room, which is provided by the hotel. Even though fitness room is nice, it is missing some training apparatus.

I booked after having surgery and wanted to use the rooftop to relax in the sun but couldnt as was prepping for a party only fault is i feel i should of been informed before arrival and offered a quieter room due to me having surgery…. Our room was direct below the rooftop and music was playing until 1.15am

We were welcomed by Deniz who was so patient , helpful and cheerful. We soon realized that the staff were like her including Ecme,Aziz and Seda. They tried very hard to answer all our requests in spite of the language barrier. The location could not have been better .Lots of activities and good restaurants in the area which is alive till late night.The view from our room was beautiful and the crimson sunset over the Aegean sea was unobstructed from the rooftop of Marriot...AWESOME! The breakfast buffet had very good quality food plus excellent service. The room was quiet despite the busy esplanade. And of course the ferry terminal was only a 5 minutes walk away .Don't forget to take the ferry to Karsiyaka. The indoor pool was big and empty. Will certainly stay here again.

There were two place for the breakfast, one is outside section which is really cold and smoky because of smokers, other is the inside but the near of the automatic doors which frequently opens and transmitting cold and terrible smoke smell to inside. It is not a good experience for those people who are sitting inside. Secondly it is not an important problem but need to be careful for sensitive guests :). Last day of our vacation, bathroom amenities were not replaced, we requested and wait for 1 hour and still not make a conclusion, after calling the reception again they completed amenities but there was still lacking stuff.

Great location, great view of the harbour. Staff were all excellent ... friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was of very high quality. Lots of restaurants nearby and the old part of town can still be reached with a bit of walking. Also quiet at night, so nothing to disturb your sleep. No problems with wifi. Overall, Izmir is a fantastic place (especially for the day trips out of town), and we're glad we didn't just stay in Istanbul ... weather was also much better in Izmir!

I wish there had been some English TV channels (I mean movies, not just news) for when one is relaxing after a long day. But if you don't have many English-speaking guests, that's understandable.
