Very cosy room and in the town centre. Breakfast was a good selection of cold snacks and drinks plus tea and coffee on the landing between floors which suited us perfectly. Check in and out was very straight forward and the access to the room was from a seperate outside entrance which meant you did not have to walk through the pub or disturb anyone.

W hen we arrived all the parking was taken and it was tricky to find a temporary parking space while we contacted the pub by phone. I cannot fault the staff who assisted and a staff member moved their vehicle to give us access, may be worth phoning just in advance so you can park when you arrive. There is live music in the pub which is quite loud, even in the top room we were staying, not a problem as we were epecting it and the pub advertises this, all quiet by 11.00.

The hotel is well-named being close to the now defunct Morlands brewery. It is ancient with beams and winding staircases. We were greeted well and shown our room: and told that there was a breakfast bar when we did not expect anything as it was not mentioned as having food available. There were yoghurts, croissants, and various cooked meats: and a coffee and hot drinks machine. All very convenient and provided a Hobbit's First Breakfast.

Awaking to find the room temperature at 13 degrees! Their background central heating was just that: very background. But they had provided auxiliary fan heaters and we soon had it up to a more reasonable temperature.

Excellent staff with an easy check in, building is obviously very old which made the room quirky with loads of character (positively). Parking was directly outside and free of charge. Help yourself free breakfast trolley outside the room was a bonus with cereals, croissants and juices. Food in the pub was excellent especially if you like a proper pie also an excellent selection of real ale. Would definitely stay again in the area.

Not so much a dislike but a very steep staircase to get to the room, it didn't bother us but if you have mobility issues would definitely have caused a problem.

A lovely characterful building, great pub, wonderful staff, fantastic atmosphere. would love to stay here again. The coffee machine with fruit biscuits and croissants just outside our door was a really lovely treat. The room was a good size and sympathetically decorated to the period of the Property.

Parking is extremely limited. The shower only had the waterfall option, which is very limiting. There was a fair amount of mould in the grout of the tiles in the shower. You need to appreciate you are staying in an extremely old building which has restrictions for example, narrow/ tight stairs - just in case you have a mobility issue.

A last minute impromptu stay to break the journey back from London. Parking was a bit of an issue to begin with, the pub has about 5/6 spaces just outside the beer garden, which were all taken when we arrived at early tea-time. However, bar staff asked around and a regular or staff member kindly moved their car for us. We had a lovely room, and the only fault with it was the different levels - steps down into the bedroom, but then you had to go back up them and down some more to get to the en-suite bathroom, which in all fairness was huge, and spotless. The steep steps to get up to the bedroom were a little bit of a challenge, so not suitable to those less mobile. Bed was super comfy, lovely pillows and bedding. Nicely appointed room, very spacious, large TV, couldn't find fault with it. We were directly above the bar, which was quite noisy until late - that didn't bother us and we were fully aware that there was live music on until midnight - it was part of the reason we went. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and our evening meal delicious, despite it being very busy. Outside our room on the landing was a hot drinks machine, a fridge full of cold drinks and continental breakfast items, and there were plenty of pastries and bread items on offer - a really nice addition that we weren't expecting. A really quirky place that we would highly recommend

Just the fact that there were internal steps within the room, to get to the bathroom.

The room was modern & well furnished. It had a large comfortable double bed, big screen tv and walk in shower. It had it's own outside entrance from the resturant / pub. The fodd available in the resturant was very good and the service quick and courteous. The only downside is that breakfast in the morning is a continental breakfast. There is a range of cereals, pastries, yougurts, cheese, fruit, tea & coffee for self service situated in an alcove on the landing between rooms. Overall a very comfortable stay in a great location to Oxford centre or Milton Science Park.

A hot breakfast would have been an improvment.

The rooms were fabulous, nicely furnished with comfy beds. The pub is great, it has an excellent ambience and is really well set out with lots of different tables and spaces. We ate lunch there on our first day and dinner on our second day. The good was delicious on both occasions and really good value for money. On the Saturday there music, the singer Amanda was very good and he had a brilliant evening.

We would have liked to have a cooked breakfast. Breakfast was provided but in the form of help yourself and eat in your room. The selection of food was very good but we like sitting and chatting over a cooked breakfast.

Lovely comfy bed in a luxurious (we had the largest) room, perfect for a romantic getaway (was wedding anniversary) have stayed here before love the pub always great quality food and drink and often live music at weekends, always enjoyable! Breakfast is a handy continental style buffet, available just outside your bedroom which you help yourself to.

Only the parking tbh, as is a bit limited here, but we did manage to park about a 10minute walk away down the road.

The staff were terrific, and the bartender/staff member who checked me in was very friendly. They showed me to my room, offered to carry my bags and showed me the facilities. The food was excellent! The staff again were fantastic, offering food suggestions and checking back to ensure everything was fine. My room was very friendly, comfortable and clean. Previous reviews mentioned noise from the bar and road, I didn't hear anything from my room, but it was a midweek stay. The stairs are steep up to the room but not an issue for me. I thought the breakfast bar was an amazing idea and a nice touch when they really dont have to provide anything really.

Parking at the bar is very limited with maybe six spaces. There is no long stay parking close, I had to park a ten minute walk away. Not a major issue for me but think it should be made clear on the booking page etc.

The room was lovely, comfortable and clean Buffet continental breakfast to eat in room had a great selection. Everything about the facilities and stay was very good.

We stayed 3 nights, we needed to go out at about 7am and had forgot to ask about this. We had difficulty finding our way out of the courtyard in the dark. Walking along to town along the busy road was unpleasant in the traffic fumes.
