Having decided we wanted to spend our wedding anniversary exploring the North Devon coastline, we then spent time searching for the perfect place to stay. We saw the Pyne Arms was available and decided to go for it. And we do not regret the decision. The owners were very accommodating about our late dinner booking as we spent more time out on the sea than planned. The room was spacious and well-furnished - and we very much appreciated the little gift that was left for us. Dinner was great - we both had the curry - and breakfast (served between 8am and 9am) was generous, well-presented and exactly what we needed. There are only two rooms with the neighbouring room also suitable for dogs. Our fellow guests had a dog with them but we did not hear anything through the night which was peaceful with the Pyne Arms' setting being in the Devon countryside. The room overlooks a road but traffic, as you would expect, is minimal. It is very well priced and would highly recommend the Pyne Arms to couples looking for a getaway within a few miles of Combe Martin and Ilfracombe.

Just a minor issue!The kettle and tea and coffee tray had been positioned on top of the chest of drawers but there was no socket to plug in the kettle close by.We had to put the kettle on the window ledge when we needed to plug it in!Maybe better to move the whole tray onto the window ledge as the socket is directly below the window sill

The room was lovely, the bed really comfy and we had everything we needed (plus some lovely extra treats from Amie). Breakfast was exactly right - all the usual choices but my favourites were the gorgeous porridge and the fruit and granola. Dinners were great and I am now a big fan of homity pie! Amie really goes out of her way to make things special and all the staff were super friendly and attentive.

Hosts were perfect, breakfast was superb. We ate there the first evening and the meal was first class. Parking reserved for residents so no worries there. We had our dog with us who was made very welcome, and spoilt by the staff and owners alike. The bar in the evening is very inviting, and used by the locals which says alot for the hospitality you recieve.

Great stay. Staff all welcoming and helpful. Room comfortable with nice touches of homemade shortbread, tea and coffee with fresh milk. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Lovely quiet location easy to find via Google maps. Wifi worked (phone signal a little weak but this is Exmoor!). Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area. Great value for money

Amie and Ellis are superb hosts. They work hard and deliver a great experience. The fact that the Pyne Arms still remains a 'local' too is fantastic, and not something you can say about many pubs these days. Food, room and location are all something special.

Nothing, this places excels in every aspect

The room was beautifully decorated and had lovely little touches like homemade shortbread. Dinner was one of the best meals I've ever had, delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was served in the conservatory and was also lovely, with a good choice.

We loved it all

The entire team was incredibly accommodating and extremely kind. From allowing us to check into our room a few hours early (for a much-needed nap!) to the very kind servers at the pub for our evening meal, we had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Be prepared to be off the grid: the area has no reception, so it's WiFi only within the bounds of the pub. And breakfast is for early risers only, as it's offered between 8-9am only.

The room was very nice with views over the fields, the breakfast choice was great and any combination of what was on offer was available. Dinner was extra but the quality of the food was amazing, very high standard. The dog was made very welcome and made a fuss of and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

Nothing comes to mind, it was all we hoped for and more. The only thing that could have been better but impossible to change was the width of the surrounding roads. All were single track and very bendy, you just hope you didn’t meet anything coming the other way!

Loved that we were able book this place on our road trip through Cornwall/Devon. We had a super nice dinner, it was nice to just walk up the stairs to get to the room straight from the restaurant. We had to leave early for our flight to Bristol, but the owners made sure we got an early breakfast which was very good and helpful :-)

Some noise from the restaurant (Saturday night) when we got in our room, but it was quiet at 11PM, so no problem for us.
