Everything was great..From the first moment of walking into the place to the last moment before leaving. We were greeted with a smile and taken to our room. the room was lovely and clean (does need a touch of paint) and had a lovely comfy bed..tea tray was filled and had toiletries in the bathroom, it also had a hairdryer. We ate food in the restaurant and the food was beautiful and a good price. and there was loads, we couldn't eat it all. The entertainment on the night was fantastic.. we had a great night. There was all ages and the local lads from the football team. we were made to feel welcome by everyone .it was packed and had a fab atmosphere. Breakfast was also included and was really nice. cereals and juice to start and hot food from the menu could be ordered. The staff were very friendly and helpful.. Thank you.. We will be back again.

nothing..everything was fab

The breakfast was great . The rooms were spotlessly clean the meals at night were great .The portions at dinner were so big it was difficult to eat it all. The staff were so friendly and were amazing I had always wanted to visit Walney Island with its nature reserve and round house. We also visited Roa island and we wanted to go to piel island but the ferries had stopped for the winter. The taxi fares are so cheap

Nothing It would be extremely difficult to find any faults. In my opinion it is far better than three stars

When checking in the Manager Shaun was very polite and respectful, acting professionally and very courteous, he also informed us of local activities and places of interest. The staff were excellent all day from the bar staff to the waitress the next morning, the added bonus was a live band on the Saturday evening finishing our day off great. P.S. - The breakfast was excellent cooked fresh with great ingredients.

We didn't find anything to dislike, only stopping for one night was enough to show that it was a clean and friendly hotel.

Reasonably large room with pleasant views. It was clean and well presented. There was a large car park to the side of the property.

The following is not a complaint more a humorous anecdote. I am a Coeliac. I pointed this out and ordered a full English Breakfast. It arrived without eggs, bacon or sausages. It did however have three hash browns which I could not eat. My wife ordered porridge which came with granola and mixed fruit. It was excellent. She also had a bacon butty which was also good. I think it also contained my bacon.!

Nice friendly hotel, above a bar/restaurant (and all that entails). Good room with nice view and facilities.

*ORIGINAL* Unfortunately the hotel has been unable to provide me with a VAT invoice, just pointing me initially at a booking.com receipt (which clearly states it can not be used to reclaim VAT). Exchanges afterwards has led to them saying they would and have sent one via email, but a month and a lot of hassle later I 've given up. *UPDATE* The hotel have now emailed me a VAT invoice following problems with their email account. I hope offering a VAT invoice at the end of your stay is now a standard service (as well as being an HMRC requirement).

Have been a return guest at this hotel many times because you just can’t find the same level of care anywhere else. Staff are exceptionally friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Attentive enough to feel looked after but never intrusive. Its breakfasts are to die for and so so fresh! We have eaten in the restaurant with family on multiple occasions and again this is faultless. A new addition of freshly baked cake counter on this visit meant returning to London with a boxful as we couldn’t choose….. they were absolutely delicious…. I’m not Vegan but great to see there were excellent options for those who are! Thank you for having us…. you are all fabulous!

Nothing to dislike

Very clean well presented Room and hotel with some very helpful and pleasant staff.

Entrance to hotel to the accommodation was blocked by 3 high chairs had to move myself to get in...... Took 15 minutes stood at the bar to book in even though it was obvious with us having suite cases. 3rd stair tread upto the Rooms has a broken edge and is a trip hazard right on the corner... 1 member of staff was very rude and dismissive and we had to go back to ask after waiting 20 minutes for a dessert.

We have stayed at the Alfred a few times now, as it’s very convenient for town and close to the beach and wild life areas of Walney Island. Very friendly staff, comfy clean rooms and good food served in the pub. Free parking and Wi-Fi, has everything we need for a few nights stay. Will stay here again, next time we’re visiting family.

Not much space for hanging clothes, fine for a couple of night though.

There was a slim lady that served us breakfast on the day of departure & she was so amazing so thank you for that

When we arrived with a big suitcase on wheels I was left waiting by the bar staff as they continued to serve other customers despite missing my turn so I interrupted the bar girl to ask where do I book in & was pointed through to another area.. I could have been told tis the minute we entered the area? The first night was quite loud as our room was directly overhead the bar area.

Absolutely loved this place, was a bit sceptical as it was a bit further away from where we wanted to be and nothing much going on around, but the place was great, the food is outstanding, fresh and plentiful!

There was nothing bad i could say about this place, the staff were friendly and welcoming. It didn't both us but they have life music on which can be heard in the rooms, however this goes off at 11:00pm and we heard nothing after.
