The property was amazing Alan and Caroline were amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble they were very attentive. The food and drinks were of such good quality!!! Everything was delicious. A lot of things that you may of ate came from their garden. Their home grown, strawberry and vanilla jam is amazing!!! The carrots and radishes in our crudités before dinner were delicious and so full of flavour. Beautiful scenery, beautiful delicious food, lovely people. Couldn’t have asked for more!!! Beautiful comfortable bed, bath & shower and tea and coffee making facilities. They also gave you fresh cold milk. For the tea & coffee in the room and home made biscuits when you arrive.

Really couldn’t fault it!!

What an exceptional place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised when staying here after attending a family members funeral. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The room we stayed in was so beautiful and had a stunning view. The bed was super comfortable. Love the fact that they grow their own produce and oh gosh the food was just amazing with homemade and homegrown produce. Best breakfast we have ever had anywhere. The attention to detail that the owners have really stands out a mile and due to this the hotel and the owners are huge credit to the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Lovely place to stay. Very inviting and welcoming from check in to check out. We stayed there because of attending an event at Shepton Mallet Prison, so location was perfect, only 10 mins or so away. Room was very warm and inviting on a winters evening with lovely hand made cookies waiting for us. breakfast was a delight especially the homemade Jam 😋 the restaurant staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. highly recommended for a lovely meal and secluded get away.

We had a fantastic stay. The attention to detail was phenomenal. We were treated like friends by the owners. One of the most comfortable beds we've slept in. Excellent food, with as much grown on site as possible. Wife drank enough of the home infused gin to sink a battleship, lol. Staff were very friendly. Probably one of the best places we stayed in the UK. We will 100% be going back again.

Could not fault anything. From the moment we arrived, till the moment we left it was 1st class service.

It was in the middle of nowhere. The food was amazing and looked after us very well.

A tea bag caddy was used for a waste bin in the Bathroom. ( I have the same one at work that I use for client meetings to put their used tea bag’s in) so really it even nice to put a bin. Also I did think the photos on the website of the Lodge made the lodge look a lot bigger than what it was and also the room was slightly different.

Chef/proprietor gave personal attention to dietary requirements, explaining how the menu had been built around intolerances and also using locally sourced produce and indeed in many cases home grown ingredients. Our expectations were exceeded. The personal welcome and attention from all staff was spot on and created a very welcoming environment from the first moment.

We loved everything! Beautiful place and the owner has a passion for this place. It's cozy, welcoming, and so much attention to detail. The food is outstanding! Chef came out and made sure that everyone is happy! The plates were stunning, the presentation perfect, and the staff members so politely explained every meal that was put in front of us! Big shout out to Bar Host John and the boys who worked hard! The rooms are simple but very elegant, the bathrooms are amazing, owners definitely have good taste. Comfortable beds! Breakfast! Amazing, again so much attention to the details, they do think about you as a customer! Thank you, you all made our stay wonderful and we will return! Highly recommend this place for staying over, for foodies, weddings, or date nights!

Everything was spotless clean, friendly owners and homely feel with animals

Over priced for the garden hut, which although had everything I needed, it wasn’t private for getting dressed with people wandering around the garden when you get up, yes curtains could be drawn but you want to let sunlight in first thing and not have to hide up to get dressed.

Super stay here. I have to say one of the best hotels in the SW I have stayed at. The food is exceptional and the friendliness and personal attention from the owners was second to none. Our children were provided with great attention, cocktails were superb and we even had a personal tour of the chef's garden which was a real highlight. We will be back!

Nothing! Everything was excellent.

Tastefully appointed with good quality tableware, linen etc. Very nice breakfast.

Our room was lovely but very small, so not really proportionate to the price. Because it's an old building, the window was small and lighting needs improvement. A mini-fridge would be good, because they give you fresh milk for hot drinks, but there's no way to keep it cold.
