The historic building and decor (pictures/books), wide corridors, spacious bedroom, modern en-suite with walk-in shower though would have liked a shelf to put toilet bags on, big/strong hairdryer. Dinner steak perfectly cooked and very tasty and kitchen kindly gave me a mixed salad to replace the watercress one on the menu! Cinnamon cheese cake innovative. Complimentary bar drink appreciated. Continental breakfast excellent value for money - perhaps bag of museli alongside cereal packs would be welcome. Bar/coffee area in the morning warm/cosy and super comfy leather seats. Sunny day so enjoyed the outside terrace/garden and closeness to shops to browse and enjoy Georgian architecture. Very good value for money and staff warm and friendly from beginning to end.

Nothing for us just overnight, although if there for a longer period perhaps more hanging space (maybe other rooms have this already). See above re shelf for toilet bags.

It was a perfect room set up for me and my mum with 2 rooms interlinked, a king size and a single. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water in the room. Bath with a shower so nice choice. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and were given a complimentary glass of prosecco. Lots of choice at breakfast. Parking next to the hotel made things easy.

There were some sounds from ventilation fans not far from the main room window which seemed to constantly stop and start but not much to be done about it; there was a day blind as there wasn't much of a view.

Excellent range of food at breakfast. I had supper only once and that was a vegetarian curry which was fine. The room had everything I needed, although I could not find a socket to charge my mobile phone. I did not enquire because I could charge it in my car.

Two small things you might check In room 15, the bed had a strange creaking to it. I didn't identify it, but it might be worth trying to bounce up and down on it and see what you hear. When leaving the hotel in a car, the view of oncoming traffic from the bridge is obscured by vegetation which seriously needs trimming

The decor was amazing. A very interesting place with lots of stories to be told. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The restaurant served incredible food. Compliments to the chef. We had a lovely evening meal and a great breakfast

Service at breakfast was a little awkward. We arrived with no idea if we should just grab a table or wait for someone and then were ignored whilst a member of staff made themselves busy before attending and showing us to a table. It was a bit odd and something that could probably be rectified very easily. The bed was advertised as being very comfy. It was not. The mattress felt like it had seen some years and was very firm which was surprising given we booked the upgraded room

I recently had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks on business and found a new standard set in hospitality. I spend a lot of time in hotels from budget to luxury, so this review is written from that perspective. Without doubt, this hotel's greatest asset is its staff, very closely followed by its food! All the staff were lovely, attentive and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure that this was a wholly pleasant and memorable experience. A special mention must go to Gemma, Vincent, Tommy & Macey for making me feel very welcome and going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The food is outstanding and for only the second time in my life, I was compelled to call the Chef from the kitchen in order to compliment him on the cuisine. These are authentic, traditional and seasonal dishes made from the best of ingredients and cooked to perfection, it was a pleasure to eat here after a day at work. The room was lovely, everything worked as it should and was cleaned to a very high standard daily. If I was forced to pick any kind of fault with The Crown it would be that the WiFi was intermittent on occasion however the staff responded by giving me the use of a small room on the ground floor when I needed to work in the evening, at no extra cost. Thank you so much to everyone who made this visit so pleasant and memorable, I really look forward to having the opportunity to return!

Stayed here 7-8March. All was fabulous this hotel is really lovely. Great feeling as you walk in with such a friendly welcoming. We were extremely lucky and given room 11 which was huge warm and spotlessly clean. Missive comfortable bed with two good pillows each. The bathroom with very large bath and overhead shower. Nice tea tray with biscuits and two small bottles of water. Had drinks in the smashing old fashioned bar that had friendly young bar staff. Beer was super nice too! Dinner in the main dining room was out of this world. Haven’t had a hotel meal that great for absolutely ages. All so so delicious so don’t miss the chance of enjoying your supper here! We didn’t have breakfast but I’d bet that it’s pretty amazing also. There is nothing to dislike about this beautiful hotel. I really wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for such a short but amazing stay. Please don’t change a thing about it we want to come back!

Daft question!!

Lovely hotel in the centre of Blandford with a nice seating area at the front where you can have a drink or a meal in the sun. The rooms were lovely and old-fashioned with lots of quirky features. We had a great room with a huge bathroom with a bath. The staff were lovely especially the receptionist who helped us move rooms. Highly recommend

The first room we had was noisy as it was at the front on the road and also the people staying in adjacent rooms were very noisy. We asked to move and they accommodated us.

Very tastefully decorated. Rooms were amazing - quirky but functional and very stylish. Breakfast was good - I overslept so was in a rush so couldn’t take full advantage but Christine the waitress got me a full fry in record time and got me on my way (10/10) Good selection of beer and great menu. Food was really good. I had a pie. Very high quality and well presented. All the staff were friendly and went the extra mile including the night porter

A little bit tired downstairs in the bar but otherwise all good.

The room was quirky and historical with interesting curios and arty touches which I appreciated. The room as requested was quiet and situated on an upper floor at rear of hotel. Evening meal was a traditional superb rare cooked beef roast which luckily was held back for residents of the hotel which was a nice touch. We sat in the bar rather than the restaurant which was pleasant talking with friendly locals and supping top quality real ale brewed by Hall and Woodhouse. Breakfast was great and served in front of a wood fire in the dinning room which had great choice of options of full English or continental breakfast with cereals fruit juices, great coffee and unusual dripping honeycomb as a centre piece of the table. 5 star hotel in picturesque Regency rural town by a slow meandering river and close to the brewery started in 1777 by a local farmer. Helpful professional staff and great chefs.

There is nothing to dislike at The Crown Inn in my opinion.

This was a return visit for me and was not disappointed. Parking is convenient and no fuss. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming and once we had checked-in we had a drink on the courtyard in front of the hotel in the sun. Very chilled atmosphere with local people having a lovely afternoon in the sun. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast provides plenty of choice and good quality tasty food.

The bathrooms are a little tired and the curtains don't block the light out in the morning.
