Location was absolutely fantastic - parked once (in the hotels secure, free off street parking) and were able to freely explore the village and attractions directly from the hotel. Beautiful little village, very friendly people, and overall, a brilliant stop over mid trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Check in staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly. We were also delighted with all the little “extras” in the room - drinks selection for all ages, delicious biscuits, bottles of water and toiletries. An added bonus were the complimentary drinks vouchers we could redeem at the restaurant. We had dinner there - this too was excellent. Well done to all the team at 1777 The Albion - we will be making a return visit. :)

Honestly, couldn’t fault a thing!

The bed was exceptionally comfortable, both my wife and I slept well during our stay. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were very flexible about meeting our needs. The room itself was large and comfortable, and its outlook into the town, and the Minster was excellent. Because I have a back problem I would have liked a more upright chair as well as the low comfortable chairs supplied, but I was able to sit on the bed which was fine,

There was very little I would like to have changed. I found the mirror for shaving at a difficult hight, it would have been more helful had it been set lower. Otherwise I cannot think of any real problem or complaint.

I am disabled with a small mobility scooter and booked the accessible room which was perfect for my needs. The room was a good size and the bathroom was excellent, very spacious and easy to manoeuvre around. We were able to park outside our room in the disabled bay. Perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking again.

It would be ideal to have a restaurant on site but there were plenty of places to eat in Wimborne so not a problem. Please note the accessible room has a wooden floor and is not carpeted.

It was a lovely room at an old inn decorated in a nautical, Georgian theme. The bed was super comfortable. Wimborne, the little market town is super quaint with lots of great restaurants including one related to 1777. 1777 is not a large hotel with lounges etc, but a small place, so some folks may found it restrictive. Personally, I thought it was great.

This has nothing to do with 1777, but the drive between Bournemouth and Wimborne definitely requires a SatNav :-)

Each room is different and it is very quirky

The room is quite dark, (room 5) I thought this last year but didn't say anything! The black shades on the central ceiling light really need to go they make the room look very dark and dingy, they would cost very little to replace with a more neutral colour like on the walls. A little dish would be very handy to put the used teabags in and spoon instead of placing them on the desk.

Room was cosy. Lovely large wet room bathroom. Plenty of tea/coffee available in the room. Good location. We managed to check in early. Car park was free (but limited spaces & carpark was a bit tight) Staff were very friendly. Lovely touch with the radio on the bedside table, which was playing when we went into the room, making it feel homely.

The wet room had extensive disabled facilities, which is great, but we didn't request disabled facilities. Lighting in the room isn't great. Bed was a bit soft for our liking (but that's just personal preference) & it was very squeaky!

Based in part of what I presume was originally a stable of the coach house, my room was definitely quirky, which I liked, very clean & comfortable (especially the bed). Filled with the usual niceties like drinks making facilities, bottled water & biscuits. My room (4) was at the end of the building next to the car park & had disable facilities, which I would imagine is perfect for those that need it. Although breakfast was a very short walk away to the sister establishment it was definitely well worth it - even a walk in the rain!

Nothing to report here.

Lovely quirky room with some really interesting information about the local area. Check in was at the pub restaurant round the corner where I had my evening meal which was lovely.

Not the hotel's fault but because the room is external & the door opens straight into the car park I was woken up at 5am by a taxi driver who parked right outside my room & was talking loudly on his mobile phone right outside my window! He was apologetic when I got up & told him to keep it down but I struggled to get back to sleep after that.

Parking is easy and the hotel is centrally situated for all local amenities. The room was quirky and beautifully appointed, designed by someone with an eye for style. The bed was very wide and comfortable and we had a copper bath in the room which was fun. Breakfast was down the road in the Olive Branch and was exceptionally good. Altogether very enjoyable.

Arrival was somewhat shambolic with a lady left in charge who didn't have any idea of who was arriving or what room they needed to be allocated. She was very pleasant however and we got a lovely room at the very top. We were later called by the manager who also had no idea that we had already checked-in so a bit unprofessional. The stair carpet leading up to the rooms was very stained and needs replacing.

We have stayed here a few times at this time of the year and this year we booked a different room to the one we would normally choose. However the same very high standard applied ! Room was a good size with really comfortable bed .View from our window onto the main street which was interesting. We had a really good night's sleep . Breakfast in The Olive Branch was very good with a nice selection of options . Staff very friendly and helpful.

There wasn't anything that disliked and will be returning again for our pre Christmas visit to Wimborne !
