The location of the hotel is really nice alongside the river, and only a short walk to Newton Abbot city centre via a lovely scenic walk. The staff were friendly on arrival and throughout the stay and the leisure facilities were great for us as a small family. The pub next to the hotel (same owners) was also really nice for a carvery and the staff there were great too. There's good car parking facilities too.

Breakfast was a little on the small side in terms of options, but that may be because it was very out of season and not many guests were staying. The quality of the breakfast was absolutely fine though.

Great hotel central to lots of activities for everyone but also has the feel of being remote, beautiful views over the estuary, lovely quiet pool with friendly locals. We stayed in the cheapest apartments as a family on a budget, the apartment is old fashioned but well equipped with two TVs, comfortable beds, kitchen with everything you need including washing up liquid etc and immaculately clean. I also had lovely holistic treatments and booked them as soon as I got here. It was bliss and the children was more than happy swimming at least three times a day!!!

Very pleasant and clean, very comfortable beds. Rooms have pretty much everything you need and the staff are all very kind and helpful.

Decor is a little outdated, especially the bathrooms. The lights in the bathroom took so long to come on we thought they didn’t work at first. Same with the kettle in the bedroom - it took so long to start boiling I thought it was broken…but it all worked in the end and suited us fine!

First and foremost I liked the position of the Hotel, well away from the main road so very quiet at night, l liked the ease of access to the room open 24 hours, l had to attend a birhday party in the vicinity so very late coming back,, no problems on entry, A marvellous location ,dining room looks out towards the river Teign, just lovely views when dining, food was very good, My room very clean ,modern, bed very comfortable, bathroom had all facilities, plenty of hot water tea and coffee in the room, plenty of storage for clothes and cases etc. l just like the feel of the hotel very relaxed nice friendly staff

There was nothing l did not like about this hotel, I cannot fault it in any way,

The location is amazing beautiful scenery the local pub is lovely food really nice. Staff where amazing let us check out late no extra cost.

The cleanliness really needs picking up .. the room was very very dusty cobwebs every where dust behind bed window ledges had a build up of grease, bathroom behind toilet toilet brush and holder dirty. The gym also same problem very dirty showers and floor yellow with body fat. Changing room benches dirty.. The gentleman who was the gym attendant was struggling it was so hot in there no ventilation at all for him he was sweating buckets.

The location was perfect for our needs visiting family in Kingsteignton. We like the self catering apartments at this hotel as we like the flexibility of either using the restaurant or doing your own thing regarding meals! The size and space is excellent. A little home from home. We're happy to stay again, and have stayed here several times before both in the regular hotel rooms and apartments.

The only negative was that some areas are looking the worse for wear, and could benefit from a little update.

Location was excellent. Swimming pool was a bonus. Room was spacious and well equipped with an excellent view of the estuary . Booking in was straightforward and comfortable lounge area. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Eggs Benedict was delicious.

Bath was not as clean as expected - not happy having to remove hair from plug hole! Husband commented full English breakfast was very bland and tasteless. Some of the lockers in pool looked worse for wear. Breakfast area was not topped up regularly - had to ask for bowls and for juice and bread to be replenished but once we asked it was done quickly.

We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend and stay again 1 staff member in particular Paul on the Friday was fantastic and we really felt welcomed and nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely stay there again, and the Inn around the corner that was also on the same area was exactly what we had hoped for a 10* night away.

The only let down we would of liked a possibility of a selection of cold meats and cheese for breakfast as in many continental breakfast menus. That was the only thing we could of found to be missing.

Location is lovely, room clean, staff friendly, good parking facilities. Self service breakfast facility, good range of choice, full English available. Quiet environment. Spa facilities. Can eat in the restaurant or there is the Inn on the same site.

Have to ask for all gluten or lactose free options. No alternative to butter available without asking or milk alternatives. Early check out times. If room in the lodges you get very wet walking to the restaurant for breakfast.

View from the dining area is lovely. The double room was a good size. Ample parking right in front of the hotel is convenient. 24-hour desk service is unusual and helpful. Breakfast was well cooked. Staff were helpful and mostly friendly.

A little surprised by the minimal toiletries in the bathroom, e.g. no tissues, hand lotion or hair conditioner provided. Dirty mugs and spoons were not cleared away after the first night, nor teabags replenished, though the bed was made up, so housekeeping had been in. The only coffee available at breakfast was out of a machine, which was disappointing.
