Cheap price for dog that why I booked here Hotel had carpark and plenty of spaces outside of hotel No dodgey people in this area as it's far from the rough horrible town

It's dated so will not suit the rich snobs. It has a bar and although not the hotels fault the stupid guests who think it's acceptable to talk loudly on their way to their room late at night Management will need to review the housekeeping arrangements. I don't believe there were any do not disturb hangers available so I noticed the housekeeping person knocking on a guests room door announcing housekeeping and then entering whilst not taking into account the guest might be having a lie in having a shower or on the toilet.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage, we arrived a little early so our room wasn't quite ready so we enjoyed a drink in the bar for half an hour or so. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room very spacious and comfortable. Everywhere was very clean and the breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and hot.

I wish I could have stayed longer.

Amazing value for money, location and facilities were more than expected for a small family hotel. The rooms were compact but functional and clean ( we had 2 standard twin rooms) The pool area was lovely, nice comfortable sun loungers and chairs and didn’t feel cramped. The Jacuzzi are was a lovely, being undercover made it more usable in the English weather! The front garden and bar area provided a lovely place to relax with the dog whilst having a nice glass of wine before and after dinner. Food and drinks all reasonably priced. Breakfast was amazing value at £7.50 for the buffet of pastries, fruit and yogurt, toast, cereal and hot food. Despite the negative reviews this breakfast was far better than I have had in many of the big chain hotels of a 3 star rating and served by staff who care and want to help - this is priceless and makes a good stay even better.

The rooms could do with some kind of air conditioning as they are on the compact side.

Unfortunately the curtains were very see through so even at night the neighbours lights shone through and again in the morning when the sun came up at 5am. Really need blackouts! The room and bathroom were very clean although there was a huge waste pipe on show behind the toilet that was extremely dirty and greasy and it seemed strange to be so meticulous with the bathroom and leave this

A great welcome from Daisy at reception and our concerns about the stairs for our dog to tackle were alleviated by her suggestion to use the disabled ramps for our dog. The room was in a quiet area of the hotel and was a good size with plenty of room to move around. The bed was a good size and very comfortable with quality pillows and bedding. The bathroom was adequate for a good wash or shower/bath and equipped with soaps and body wash etc. The towels were lovely and fluffy. Breakfast is exceptional and there's so much choice from porridge to croissants, fried eggs to green tea. You can gorge yourselves silly if you want to or just try something different than your usual taste. It's located in a popular area with a great dog walking park (Cary park) just along the road (2 minutes from the hotel back door) and access to the town centre or tourist areas is equally easy to do.

exceptional value for money. its hard to go wrong at £54pn inc breakfast. everything you expect about an older seaside hotel room was absolutely fine for our purposes, bar was open and the restaurant served good food as a sensible price. our room was perfectly adequate for our purposes and the bathroom was nice and had modern fittings. staff were friendly and helpful

these comments should be taken in context with the fact that our stay cost £54 inc breakfast. the mattress on the bed wasn’t brilliant. the room was clean but rather small and dated - it’s an old hotel and this is how they were. slide door into the bathroom is unusual, but the room isn’t big enough for a hinged door. not to everyone’s taste, but didn’t bother us

The breakfast was exceptional and plenty! All the weekend staff were some of the best we have encountered at a weekend away,especiqlly Daisy!. The lounge bars and gardens were also lovely. Although theloveky garden furniture and slate flooring could do with a good clean, as it is under a beautiful tree with birds.

The first room we was given was extremely hot and above the kitchen it was in need of alot of updating, the bed and duvet was uncomfortable and bumpy. Our room was changed luckily there was space, this room was much better although still in need of updating, still very hot and was above the bins again on top of the kitchen. There was a bad smell as you entered the corridor going up to the rooms and the carpets all need cleaning.

We had a lovely stay at the Anchorage. Staff are exceptional, room was very clean and comfortable, pool lovely, evening entertainment brilliant and a fab breakfast- all at a very good price. We stayed here a couple of years ago not long after covid so it was a bit different however we always knew we would be happy to come back. It really exceeded our expectations. I am really struggling to understand some of the other comments. I am glad to see coach parties as the people are always friendly. I think it is a great way to explore in a group and hotels like the Anchorage are ideal. Thanks and looking forwars to our next visit.

Really cannot think of anything

Great location, absolutely lovely staff who went above and beyond. The hotel is quirky, and it looks like they are updating areas around. It is quite dated in places, but this adds to the charm. They have lovely gardens, great pool and spa section out the back, a lovely little cafe and it is clean and tidy.

Nothing. Little dates in places, so things like showers were old and not as functional as they probably were when built. But no issues at all as the staff were so nice, they work really hard and you can see what they are putting into the place to renovate it.

Wonderful stay,. The staff here make your stay. Brilliant smiles and welcome from all staff encountered. The spa facilities had just opened in the week of our stay. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, we really loved the relaxed environment offered, with loungers and tables and chairs to enjoy the wonderful weather.

The pool and spa facilities will be a great success, however a little time given each day to clean the pool for insects and bird poo off of loungers and around the pool tiles, will be what makes this exceptional. We had breakfast and although good choice on offer, I would recommend an upgrade on the sausages that were on offer, would happily pay more for better quality produce.
