I was able to change to 'Ful English Breakfast', which was very enjoyable but rather pricy as an 'extra' to a lovely Continental buffet. The property itself was a 'gem' - most unusual and historic ... an old mill - unique in a truly rural setting via a field path, on the bank of the Preston to Kendal canal, very close to the M6 and the railway line and yet 'in the wilds of nowhere' in deepest Lancashire. Owner was vrery pleasant and welcoming.

The proprietor kindly opened the windows for me but I was totally baffled as to how to do it myself. The unusual staircase had a handrail on one side only, the other side was 'open' and felt rather 'scary'. Wifi kept cutting-out in my room but was perfect in the lounge.

Julie was very warm and welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, with a lovely view. Despite being fairly near to the motorway and the railway it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the meat and cheeses (as well as cereal and toast!). The Roebuck, about 5 mins down the road, is a good place to eat. It is somewhere we would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

The journey home!!

We had a lovely welcome and felt at home right away. The location is stunning and so peaceful. It was wonderfully quiet, but still very close to amenities, including a very nice pub with great food. The bed was super comfy, and our room had a gorgeous view of the stream. The house was absolutely beautiful. Excellent fully cooked breakfast too, will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, there had been some flooding in the area and there was no running water in the house. The hosts couldn't do enough for us, though, going out in the terrible rain to get bottled water and even giving us breakfast for free.

Beautiful setting and close to the wedding venue we were visiting. Even though it's close to the M6 and railway line, we didn't hear it indoors, the glazing is fab. The host was lovely and very attentive to our needs with a decent breakfast. Lovely views from the cottage. The decor in the cottage was lovely especially the copperware and furniture in the dining room. The garden was also beautiful in Spring with daffodils out along the stream. We had a meal in nearby Garstang which we found to be a lovely, attractive place to visit.

Difficult to find any fault, but if I had to find something it would be the soundproofing in the walls are a bit thin, and I could hear everything in the next room.

The owner was really pleasant, lovely building, lots of character. Breakfast was ok, nothing outstanding but nice. Location is good, quiet but walkable into Garstang.. taxi back. Could do with a lockable door rather than latch that would Be my only comment

Nothing really. I felt a little awkward as I felt it was a family home rather than a business. But that is probably down to me. We could have been asked what we wanted on the cooked breakfast.

Nice and close to where we were attending a wedding. Easy enough to find although the right turn did come up suddenly and I'm not sure we'd have spotted it in time in the dark. Room a nice size - view of the canal - old beams throughout. Given enough towels and bathrobes too. Great mirror in the bathroom. Claw foot, roll top bath. Enough parking. Lovely fruit salad as part of breakfast.

Could hear people in the next room. Shared bathroom. Shared table at breakfast - not everyone wants to have a natter, especially first thing.

Very pretty house in a lovely location. Comfortable and a very friendly and welcoming host. Excellent breakfast with good local restaurants and pubs nearby. Close to M6 so an easy stop over.

Nothing. Our room was not ensuite which may not be to the likeing of some but the lovely spacious bathroom close by was excellent.

Warm, comfortable, very clean, well and newly furbished, spacious lounge/kitchen area, friendly host, good location.

Perhaps something other than rice crispies as the only cereal and a plain yogurt choice rather than just fruit. Otherwise a nice breakfast. Owner friendly and welcoming - a bit more knowledge of the local area is welcome for tourists.

The cottage was in an idyllic location surrounded by streams and countryside. The house was stunning and cosy which made our stay memorable. We were lucky enough to have the downstairs living area to ourselves and had a perfect evening of wine and netflix. The continental breakfast was substantial and the coffee was delicious. 10/10 would recommend!

Nothing to mention

Absolutely stunning b and b tucked away in a little piece of idyllic countryside. A great continentintal breakfast included in the price with the option to add a cooked breakfast if we wanted to. Very welcoming and friendly host who was extremely helpful and kind. Looking forward to coming here again xx

I am always a little nervous of shared bathrooms but it really wasn't an issue.
