Both myself and my partner has the most beautiful two night stay here. The views were amazing, the staff were so attentive and kind. The rooms are stunning and extremely spacious. We had a minor issue with the cooker on the second night but within the hour of letting reception know there was a lovely woman knocking at the door ready to try fix it. Highly recommend visiting the beauty hut for some form of treatment, we had the most relaxing massages with the sweetest woman who recommended a Christmas market near by (really made our weekend, so Thankyou) A huge thankyou to the pianist who stayed later after his set finished to accommodate my partner and I, the most perfect Saturday evening sat in front of the log burning open fire listening to the beautiful music. If you’re looking for something to do outside, we suggest going to reception and picking up a detectives trail … best £9.99 spent! The walk was relatively steady, plenty of places to stop off for lunch or a hot drink. We booked again whilst we were there!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike!

The unit was clean - kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom all looked clean. Also, the unit we got looked fairly new. We requested for a unit with a washing machine inside and got it (depending on availability). Dishwasher was also provided. Staff whom we contacted online and when we met face-to-face were polite and courteous and were really great. Peaceful, no sound pollution. I noticed some reviews mentioned about smell of cow dung in the air, but that's to be expected (the place is right next to a grazing area), but it's only when you walk outside, and only at certain times - no such smells in the accommodation units. Ample parking spaces.

Had to carry my bags up, and down, a flight of stairs. But that is really not a big problem - just a minor inconvenience when we arrived and departed.

The apartment was very large and well furnished everything we needed beds very comfortable, the place was very warm and cosy

We booked here really for the pool spa sauna facilities, check in was at 4 Friday but we couldn’t use the pool etc from 4 till 5 as members only then only from 5 till 5.45 On Saturday we had arranged to go hiking most of the day looking form to a couple hours chilling in the spar again only to be too same hours when we got back Yes it was open in the day but closing so early when most people are out all day isn’t great Check out was at 10 so we went for a swim but only did half hour as quite a few children in and got a bit loud. The balcony in the apartment hadn’t been cleaned and had cigarette ash on the floor

Thurnham Hall is my favourite place to be, no question about it. I know the hall inside out and it’s got an amazing history - plus, the beautiful little church just down the road is a great place to have a lovely walk down to and visit. Location is good; it’s perfectly placed in the countryside but it’s not too far out of reach for shops, restaurants, etc. Lots of sweet little country pubs dotted around Thurnham as well (mostly dog-friendly!).

It’s so difficult to book a two-bedroom apartment; I’m disabled - as is my mother - and we come here frequently so it’s extremely difficult for us (plus her partner) as 2/3 of us physically require a bed and the sofa beds are pretty appalling. This is the biggest problem we have with staying at Thurnham Hall and - very sadly for me - it’s resulted in us making fewer bookings with Thurnham. I wish they’d be more inclusive in that sense.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Thurnham hall. Our apartment was clean and warm, kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable. Our 5 year old said he wants to stay here for ever. The pool temperature was perfect - both our children loved it. We also enjoyed using the sauna and hot tub - no need to book in advance which was nice. The property itself is beautiful. It's an experience just being there. The food at the restaurant is nice too.

Check out at 10am is a bit early. Same for check in at 4pm. Time to go back to pre covid check-in check-out times. Nothing else to complain about. Keep up the good work.

A quiet apartment close to a big grand house (Thurnham hall). The apartment had just been upgraded and was v comfortable and spacious. Self catering kitchenette was well equipped Bed was very comfortable. Outlook into woodland Very large non slippery shower We went for a lovely walk on the coastal path 2 miles away - good for birds. We saw a barn owl hunting, a flock of whooper swans and lots of other seabirds

When we arrived at about 530 on a sunday evening but the restaurant was already booked. There was no information in the room about local facilities and v little about what was on site.

The room was clean and spacious, with all the facilities you needed like a home away from home. The environment was tranquil and the view from the windows was very pretty. It's just a short drive to Lancaster city centre, so a great location if you visit with a car. The restaurant served tasty and well-priced food too.

The room next door was quite noisy with some machine-like sound and the bright light outside our door was on all night. We were told the light was for security reason, but the curtain couldn't keep out the light so we didn't sleep very well the first night. After I mentioned it to the hotel, the noise was kept down the second night and we finally got some better quality sleep.

Very little has changed to the basic structure of the hotel we used to visit on an annual basis as a TVC. Member but changes in ownership meant it is about 14 years since we were last here We have planned to return but life, diamond resorts and then covid got in the way. The monkey puzzle tree has grown up. The front of house staff and reception are just as friendly. The rooms are better equipped

The hotel has lost its opulence, many of the stand out decadent features of service have gone.for example There were two separate restaurants one with linen on the tables and a brilliant menu the other similar to what is there now, but served proper breakfast - kippers, creamy porridge. Lunches , & dinner with different menus. Waiters in the main hall. Afternoon cream teas A library in what is now the bar The lovely bar in the Chapel Much better lighting on site.

There is nothing at all, not to like about Thurnham Hall. The Hall is stunning, the grounds perfect, the facilicities pool, gym, shop, restaurant and accomodation five star. This is a beautiful highly well run, imaculate place to stay with a variety of booking options, just perfect for self catering or amazing menu, wine tasting, walking, travel in the area in perfect country location. Yet 10mins up the road, Booths store and everything you need. The accomadation amazing, top of the range in every way, every detail you could need for a holiday, with friends, family, children, or a celebration away, perfection.

Well I have run out of space in the whats good box, so I have to continue in this one about what is so good, and there is notthing to dislike. I also want to add the staff are lovely, friendly, delighful, and such a credit to Thurlam Hall, they refelct a true passion in you having a great stay, to every detail. The fabulous accomadation, delightful menu of interest and variety, and good price, not your standard boring! I am definately returning, do ring and has spa, and nice play area for children. This is a quite, tranquil, relaxing, haven for guests to hear the birds, look at the countryside, and enjoy quality time.
