We asked for a twin room. It was a nice large room with a table and chairs. "wardrobe" was a open unit, I would have preferred a proper wardrobe as there was room for it. Not a lot of draw room but we were only stopping 2 nights, so didn't bother us. Water was nice and hot in the bath/shower. Had our evening meals there, which did not disappoint. Hotel at the time was not busy with staying guests but had other functions going on. These did not affect our stay, but made the car park busier. We still managed to find a space to park. Would use this hotel again if we are ever in this area again.

Lovely old building from outside, plenty of free parking. Plenty of outside seating and kids play area. Bar / restaurant was spacious and tasteful and clean. Room was massive, beds comfortable. Food from the restaurant was absolutely lovely - both dinner and breakfast the next day.

More tea and coffee in room would have been nice. Also (and totally appreciate it was hot weather) the room was absolutely stifling. Would recommend booking a table for dinner (which the hotel did email me about and we didn’t and had to wait quite a long time for food - but this was managed well by the lovely bar staff who kept us informed) Breakfast was £15 each on top of room cost.

Staff here were welcoming and so helpful. My room was lovely and on the ground floor which was helpful to me. Pretty garden view. Lovely breakfast included.

Thoughtlessness of other guests. There was a wedding reception further down the garden. It was a warm evening so I had windows open. I'm no party pooper but children were still shouting and screaming at each other outside my room at 11pm. I heard one of them tell the others that they weren't supposed to be there! Then twice from inside the hotel someone started to hammer on my door like there was an emergency. I think it was only children playing knock and run but on my own and in the dark and totally unexpected it was quite scary. Not really the fault of the hotel but not acceptable either.

Perfect breakfast and dinner in the lounge, which was busy and nice to see on a tuesday evening. I couldn't fault the food and the offer of 50% discount was great, thank you. Staff were very attentive. Would definitely stay again. Lovely big bedroom and bathroom. Was very quiet at night which was lovely. Easy to find and great location.

During the night a loud gurgling water noise was heard from the bathroom which did disturb me, I mentioned to reception the following morning who said they would investigate further, but i think the bathroom was new so teething problems!. Beds were a little uncomfortable.

The guys in the restaurant were lovely The food was good It was good value for an overnight stay It was lovely sitting in the garden having a wine/cuppa as the sun went down

The double glazing had failed in our room (condensation obscured the view of the lovely fountain outside) The pillows were thin although there were several provided to bulk up We were looking forward to walks in the grounds - in our initial search it was said the hotel was set in several acres of beautiful gardens. We met another couple searching who had read the same, have we got this venue mixed up with another? We were new to the area and had no idea of where to visit so information about local places of interest would have been good for us oldies who can't always see the obvious in reception.

Easy to find. Ample parking. Free wifi. A warm welcome at check in. Room was a good size but very hot and stuffy being on the top floor. Had an evening meal at the Wild Boar restaurant which served a wide variety of dishes. Although very busy, the staff were attentive and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. As I had to leave early next morning, they even opened the kitchen earlier than usual to accommodate my requests.

The bathroom where I stayed was a bit of a joke! The shower fittings were falling of the wall, shower cubicle was no bigger than a shoe box. The bathroom sink could have come straight out of a cartoon. Fire doors wedged open.

There's lots of free parking on site, which is unusual these days. The room was a good size and has a nice feel to it, and the bathroom is clean and looks recently updated. Breakfast was good value and the selection of fresh fruit on the buffet was better than provided by many more expensive places. Overall the hotel wasn't expensive, and we felt we got good value for money

The shower was really weak - in the end we used the shower attachment in the bath rather than running around to try to get wet in the shower cubicle. The electrical sockets are limited - 1 of the 4 by the desk didn't work, and there isn't one anywhere near the bed, which is dominated by very elderly and obsolete audio equipment. The hotel seems to be more of a venue for social events (3 weddings in 2 days that we stayed) than solo travellers.

Breakfast was OK albeit expensive compared with other hotels of a similar standard. The room was very basic and unfortunately had a stale water smell that didn't go away during the time of our stay. The dinner menu was good and the food also was good and an acceptable price.

Not enough breakfast choice and the room had a stale water smell coming from the bathroom. Pity that the bar closes early.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the gardens of the hotel. There was plenty of car parking space in the grounds of the hotel.

We were disappointed at the service in the restaurant. We had booked in advance but our table was not ready for us at the appointed time. We had to wait about 20 minutes before our order was taken, and then a further 50 minutes before our meal was served. To be fair, the food when it did arrive was good: piping hot and tasty. The staff were friendly and apologised for the delays but only after I had pointed out how long we had waited. Breakfast was served from 8am the following morning but, when we arrived at 8:15 there were no rolls or croissants available on the self service table. When we asked about that, we were told that the kitchen staff hadn't finished baking, and we got the impression that we were being unreasonable for asking.

I like the fact that they are slowly improving the hotel

The Tvs in the rooms are too small and too far away from the beds, I had plastic chairs in my room. And there are no plug sockets by the beds. Also, the wifi wasn't great. I was trying to do online training, and it was performing at a slow, poor rate it could do with boosters
