Stayed a night for my friend’s wedding. I must say the food I had at the wedding and the breakfast are all top quality! The interior decorations in the wedding hall are also very beautifully done! The wedding organiser from the hotel is well experienced and supportive. We stayed at the Portland suite in the second floor corner of the old building. The room is spacious and the mattress is so comfortable. We love the refurbishments and the vibe!

Well, we wish the old building to have a lift. A bit hard to go to and fro the new building without internal connection and raining outside.

The accommodation was good alongside the excellent customer skills of the staff upon arrival and during breakfast service including room cleaner. We eventually had a garden view room which was nice. Overall a lovely hotel in good location.

Initial room which we were allocated was not ideal with the view of the car park and rubbish bins. The staff were very responsive and accomodating with reallocating us a room on the second floor with a garden view which was much better and what we had initially paid for. There was a wedding reception on but we were not disturbed by the noise.

The room was absolutely gorgeous, clean, tidy and roomy. The staff were so friendly even though they were busy with a wedding party and another group that were getting married the following day. Breakfast was 5* the ale was top notch and the bar area was 'swish'. Decor was gloriously delightful, I've not stayed in such a well thought out hotel in ages. Nothing was too much trouble, and we will definatley return as soon as we get the excuse to.

I'm sad to say the only thing was that the coffee was not what I liked; but then I love my coffee and I guess it just wasn't my taste. I was hot and fresh but I just didnt enjoy it too much.

The hotel was immaculate the staff were all constantly on the ball. The breakfast was lovely - ran out of things however were on top of this and fresh was cooked. The rooms were a great size - we stayed in with 2 of the children and whilst it was a pull out sofa bed for them it was incredibly comfy. The rooms were very hot due to underfloor heating but this was soon turned off and a window opened. The only gripe i would say is the bar area was a little small and whilst there were 2 bar staff members it did take a while to get served. Though the bar staff were great- as well as glass collectors.

The location and the comfort . The staff is helpful and friendly.

The room was very spacious, the only down side it’s the ventilation noise that kept me awake for the majority of the night. The breakfast could have more variety, the fruit and the pastries choices are very limited . Having to pay for my cappuccino was a surprise as I would think that is included on the breakfast . The last thing that I would like to mention is , however I mention that we were there to spend my birthday weekend, no staff made an effort to surprise me with a flower or a dessert as a normal 4/5 star hotel does, perhaps a bit more attention to this small details that make a big difference.

We regularly visit for meals because we love the venue, we’ve celebrated special occasions & a family wedding, & we have stayed before in the older side, but this time we stayed in the garden suite. My only criticism is the attention to finer detail. Our bath panel was chipped, the floating toilet was unsteady & made a lot of noise. The toilet roll holder was dusty & marks on the sofa. These are minor but had these have not been highlighted I would say everything was excellent!

Such a beautiful venue, food is always beautiful & staff are excellent, but as noted above, more attention to detail would for me make this place outstanding!

The newer side of the hotel is lovely got a warm and cosy feel too it. Great food, friendly and polite staff. We were attending an evening wedding reception so a great place for lunch then arriving in your room to chill and get ready for the night ahead

The first room we were offered was in the old part of the building a very different feel to the newer side. Not for us. We were at a wedding reception and at least two of the locks on ladies toilets were missing 🤷‍♀️think this definitely needs looking at.

The room was modern and beautifully decorated, It was larger than I initially imagined. The queen sized bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in power shower, with the addition of temple spa toiletries which was perfec to create my own in room spa. Coffee and tea making facilities were available in the room and the TV had alot of channel options. The cooked breakfast options were great and large in size to start the day well, they really cater to their guests as I requested a couple of minor alternatives to the vegetarian breakfast which were not listed on the menu and the kitchen were more than happy to arrange for that to ensure I enjoyed the food. The staff really go above & beyond to ensure your stay is perfect.I would definitely visit the hotel again just to eat in the Orangery, as the food is freshly made and well worth the money! Overall, I would stay at the Van Dyk again and will be recommending it to anyone who wants a luxury stay in South Yorkshire.

The only thing I would say is that the room did not contain robe or slippers but that's not to say its required to have a great stay, I would just prefer to have had the option available.

it’s modern but chintzy- it has a very young staff who are incredibly keen to please and make you feel welcome.

breakfast. the restaurant has heavy club chairs and staff delight in dragging them towards you to sit and leaning on them to push them back when people are leaving- making sure the wood legs really drag on the the wooden floor. to be fair a number of guests don’t know to lift a chair either. I’ve never worked in a warehouse so I don’t know but the endless loud industrial noises in this open plan space made me quit breakfast early.

Walking in i could smell the beautiful aroma of flowers, reception was clean and the staff cheerful, helpful and accommodating. My room was immaculate. Room service prompt with cheerful waiter. Excellent food, hot and beautifully made. Shower and bath were hot and roomy. There was ample parking too. Morning breakfast was leisurely, lots of choice comfy dining room, ambience was perfect.

My only gripe was i couldnt see how to park at front of hotel, so got a bit lost when checking out as car was at back.
