Perfect location which is central to many attractions in Cotswolds. Ample parking space. Our room was neat and clean as well as spacious enough for two people. All facilities were provided with the 'pantry' being a huge hit with Mrs and I. Restaurant served us some amazing and delicious dishes. Full marks to the team in the kitchen for serving yummy dishes at every instance. And a special mention of the reception and restaurant staff - Andre, Alex, Bunty, Gemma, Angel , Phoebe - friendly, smiling, able to strike a conversation and made us feel welcome.

If I have to nit-pick then only a couple of things - the lighting in the room :-(. Where they're ample sources, they seem to be at the wrong place. We did face an issue with the room temperature on the first day but it was sorted immediately.

Absolutely exceeded all expectations. Check in was lovely and she shown us to our room and really made us feel welcome.( blonde lady) Bonty went above and beyond for us in the ajoined restaurant , she was absolutely amazing , best service we we have received in a while!! We had a puppy and not only did they accommodate they made him feel so special and brought me and my partner so much reassurance for a first puppy vacation. Short walk over a lovely stream and there’s a huge field for dogs to run around etc and was just outside our door! There’s a Devine smell throughout the whole hotel that just adds to the experience. Have already looked at booking again and telling others to go back!

Nothing! It was all perfect

Beautifully decorated boutique Inn, inside and out. Beautiful courtyard which had an open fire place for cosy evenings and lots of outside seating under cover and beautiful pods you could eat in. Right next to a picturesque river and across a small bridge to a cricket common which was ideal for letting our dog run around first thing in the morning. Pets are welcomed with treats and in the room a dog bed and bowl provided. Lovely touch was the decanter of sloe gin in the room which was complimentary, it was delicious!! We let them know we were staying because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they left a small box of chocolates and card in the room also :)

The beds are only average doubles which when you're use to bigger it can feel a bit small.

Beautifully positioned boutique hotel which is tastefully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches which made the stay feel unique & personal. The bed was ridiculously comfortable & the river view from the room was very relaxing. Issue with noise overnight was well addressed & I felt that our thoughts & suggestions were genuinely received - Having worked in hospitality, we genuinely dread having to highlight negatives as we know how hard all staff work to provide a great experience.

wall mounted shower head was loose with no raw plug into the wall meaning this easily fell out from the lovely tiles. Practicality of the window into the bathroom, although this is practical for natural light in the day & looks lovely, in the night the bathroom light illuminates the bedroom. The noise from a party into the early hours of the morning was heartbreaking given we’d looked forward to a stress free night for months.

LOVED how dog friendly the hotel is. Staff were so friendly and attentive to all needs throughout stay. Lovely touch with a hand written birthday card for my mum and dog treats for the dog. Amazing room, plenty of space and wonderful bath/bathroom. Food was lovely at the crown (Sunday roast).

Lights outside the bedroom (around hot tub) didn’t turn off and so very bright in the bedroom all night. Did go to reception to ask if the timer could be turned off at 2.30am. The night porter, whilst helpful and accommodating was unable to fix this. The room should have the option to turn off lights outside the room.

The property is beautiful and placed in a stunning location it is aesthetically pleasing and has some great little extras including a private courtyard for guests, milk delivered each morning and the restaurant/terrace served delicious food.

The noise!!!! The banging doors constantly throughout the day and particularly during the night caused a lot of disturbance. Also there was a tapping noise which was constant, I highlighted this to the staff but nothing was done about it. We had very little sleep which after 3 days of staying got well extremely tiring. They played music in the terrace and courtyard until late, there were no guests anywhere because I checked, to the point where I had to complain to the staff and I wasn’t the only one!! I understand it’s a thriving pub/restaurant but they definitely need to consider their hotel guests a bit more too.

The staff were friendly , the receptionist were welcoming and accommodating . The place was immaculate , the garden outdoor is amazing and we had a lovely time with our pooch . We celebrated his first bday . The breakfast is cooked by far by professional you can tell that the quality of food it was delicious . We also had dinner in the crown which was the restaurant and the lamb I had it was perfectly cooked . The service is second to none and you should be 5 star .

None really but I just wanted to suggest about the cleaning products it’s been used . I walk my dog in the lounge early morning and I can smell bleach . I’m sure we can find something pet friendly cleaning products . Thank you

Stayed multiple times now, I love this place. I work in Cirencester so often stop for 1-2 nights per week, I always try and stay here if possible. The Riverside rooms in particular are very nice, roll top bath is a luxury upgrade from the (still very luxurious) standard rooms. Staff excellent, good beers on tap, food is varied and I've very much enjoyed every meal I've had here. Breakfast choices are great as well. I feel terrible staying here without my partner because it feels like such a treat, so we're remedying that by staying here for our anniversary - it's a perfect cosy couples getaway in the Cotswolds

There was nothing I didn't like. Even the torrential downpour of rain that Cirencester suffered on the day of my stay was welcome because I got to sit in a bath, open the window, and listen to the rain outside while I tried not to fall asleep in the tub

Great location just outside of Cirencester but feels remote and peaceful, walking routes nearby. Stunning Cotswold aesthetic, we were upgraded to a suite with a bathtub and it was a beautiful room, really cosy with a lovely view over the stream and bridge. Service was great when we checked in we were shown to our room and he kindly explained there was the pantry with extra milk, coffee, towels etc we could use and wellies in the lobby if we needed them for walking. We had dinner at the hotel which was delicious, we were unsure about eating at the hotel and trying somewhere else but I’m glad we ate there! Breakfast was also really good, a choice of buffet pastries/continental breakfast and hot breakfast to order. I had avocado on toast with poached eggs and my husband had a full English, both cooked perfectly with local ingredients. The bed was really cosy and comfortable, we were really sad to leave and will definitely visit again!

The whole experience was 5 star - the place itself is absolutely beautiful, rustic but classy and definitely luxurious. The vibe is very intimate and cosy, with all small details considered. The outside area and fire pit is a beautiful place to sit and have a drink, the igloo was an option well worth paying for and dinner was second to none. The room was perfect, we were upgraded and then decided to stay a second night at last minute as we loved it so much. Staff were wonderful, so accommodating and kind. We can’t wait to book again to hopefully stay in the sauna suite which is located right next to a flowing stream. Strongly encourage anyone to book here if you’re looking for a cosy little get away. Fantastic all around - we were sad to leave.

It was all brilliant.
