Cosy rooms, as pictured. Good size bathroom. Comfortable place. Great breakfast and lots of continental to choose from. Gorgeous garden and sitting room. Loved the location, it's a 20min walk into Cirencester but quite lovely to do that after a nice meal in town. Quite location, good sized free parking carpark. Staff were lovely.

Dinner wasn't great (pasta) but service was fantastic from everybody. Rooms/hallways are a bit of a maze! But fine once you know where you are. Upstairs would be challenged for those with less mobility (stairs)

Lovely 'old' building with loads of character. Brilliant location - the hotel is in it's own grounds giving the impression of being "in the middle of nowhere" so enabling you to totally relax but is in fact only 5 mins from Cirencester, which is a lovely small compact town with a selection of tearooms and independent shops. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help and advise me on 'where to go' on my first visit to the Cotswolds and ensure my stay was as enjoyable as possible.

Whilst I love old buildings, anyone with mobility issues need to make the staff aware as my room was only accessible via a couple of winding and low level staircases which may have been problematic for those of a more mature age. There appeared to be many rooms on the ground floor so I wouldn't let this put anyone off, but let the staff know on booking to avoid any problems.

Easy to park. Polite and friendly staff. Room was fine.

Good breakfast from the menu although as we were at a later sitting some things on the buffet such as pastries had run out. I wish they would hold some back for those coming later (or don't offer later sittings!). Also, it was not clear on booking.com that only some rooms allow dogs, so we had a palaver trying to switch to what was a more expensive room in order to have him with us. Everyone was helpful in the end but as we had booked the night before it was more complicated. A little annoying that we had to pay more for the room and then extra for the dog as well.

I really liked the sensation of “being like at home”, the staff and the hotel itself were delightful, always kind and respected our privacy.

We also booked one day in the SPA and was great, really nice and relaxing apart from the dogs. the venue is dogs friendly (and I love dogs) but since they can access the SPA through the garden, they gods came to us and started licking us (our skin still had the scents from the oils from the massage we booked). Hence the relaxation and tranquility disappeared as we were aware of the dogs all the time and trying not to get licked. I think a fence for the SPA area to avoid this would be very beneficial. some more hammocks would be great 😊 other than that the experience was a dream and we’ll come back, fingers cross SPA has taken this recommendation.

Our second stay at Stratton House and we were not disappointed. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming, from reception to bar and restaurant. The hotel itself is elegant and charming but also relaxed and comfortable. Stayed in yet another large and luxurious bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed, fluffy white towels in the perfectly clean bathroom and a quiet, pretty outlook from the window. Dining area and tableware are immaculate. Food is beautifully cooked and presented, from the usual classics down to the unique, fine dining options, tempting starters and gorgeous desserts.

Wish it was nearer to home.

THE SPA!!! Management were good and willing to assist in small requests stuff as from the bar. Breakfast was a buffet but depending on how much you could eat would determine if it was value for money however they did provide got food alongside a continental breakfast. Shower pressure was good too. Location was ideal for a drive throughout Cotswolds and a walk into Cirencester. Mattress was firm. The lounge area was a great place to wind down before returning to the room too.

Cleaners would come in each day but only tuck the sheets back in and bleach the toilets. Despite a notice informing us how to leave our towels if we wanted them cleaned some towels were left unattended, wet and on the floor upon our return to the room. No cold water from the taps and hot water became very hot EXTREMELY quickly. Caffeinated coffee treated decaf requiring further purchase elsewhere (but coffee with breakfast was unlimited and good). View from the room was of walls and stairs despite the park being directly in front.

We were put into room 27, which due to the current heat was like a furnace. We had to open the windows in the night as it was so hot. A small fan was in the room, but did not do much. At 6.40am the dustman turned up outside our room to empty the bins, then there were bear deliveries etc. When we spoke to reception they were brilliant and discussed which room to move us to. Room 32 was provided. So our second and last night was spent in a cool room. so started badly but due to the staff, ended very well.

Room 27, no good in the summer, but probably ok in the winter (windows closed).

Room was spacious especially with large luggage with comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and good size. Breakfast was well cooked with a good variety of choice & with lovely garden views. 2 restaurants to choose from for dinner . 1 x casual the other a la carte . Both had delicious food with good selection

The only thing missing were tourist maps of area however a quick drive into Cirencester tourist centre and we pick up there .

Hotel is beautiful and in a really quiet setting but close to town. The garden, the lounge, the spa, the bar...facilities were great! Staff were also really friendly and helpful. Super dog friendly as well!

The room was just a little run down in some parts. It also wasn't explained to us very well that we needed to book in for breakfast every morning, but they accommodated us immediately when we turned up without a reservation!

Getting excellent, probably upgraded, large room and all-round staff support for my mobility-dependent partner. This situation was reported on booking and swiftly responded to, with easily accessible ground-floor room assured. The desk isn't particularly generously staffed, but all staff we encountered went to lengths to be friendly and as helpful as possible. Breakfast times need to be booked in advance, but they're good, and definitely worth the effort.

A sign actually giving hotel name on the road as you drive out of Chichester, as most visitors must do. There is a sign, but visiblre only when driving into town.
