The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble! The room was clean with a good-sized bed and a spotless shower room! Breakfast was great, and in with the price... that made it good value for a 2 night mid-week stay! We used The Old Talbot as a base to explore Ludlow, which is 10 miles away!

This is just our personal taste and no reflections on anyone! Note that the following are not faults!! The bed was hard, and so were the pillows, for our liking. We felt that the whole place needed to be brought into this century? At present, it's like it needs a good overhaul, with the decor and fixtures and fittings? My wife and I both agreed that The Old Talbot is missing one important ingredient... A woman's touch...!!! We cover the country doing B&Bs and hotels.Not to compare just to be comfortable. We are not complainer, nor are we fussy people. As long as the place is clean, warm, and welcoming, and supplies a cooked breakfast in with the price... that's all we need. We liked the Old Talbot, and we would stay there again.

Exceptional landlord/host told us tales of resident ghosts that appear occasionally….Made us very welcome brilliant evening meal - ploughman’s platter we both ordered we could not fault the presentation, food - cheeses, ham, chutney’s ect was magnificent. Full Breakfast was freshly made to order - not buffet. 15th inn so flooring not always straight really interesting to stay. Well worth a visit if passing that way. Landlord been in the pub for 10 months and interesting locals in the bar Friday night - good drinking pub - well,stocked. 77 grade II listed buildings in the village. Locals very socialable.

500 years old coaching inn, beautiful, what’s not to love. Rooms are small but comfortable and well equipped. Staff very welcoming and will bend over backwards to help. Super breakfast too.

No option for lunch or dinner, but that didn’t matter as there is a great pub behind the Talbot, plus several Indian restaurants and a superb Thai restaurant too. Ignore complaints about the parking, there is a good free car park at the rear. I don’t think the builders were thinking about car parking when they built it!

Perfectly adequate accommodation for 2 days. The hotel is old and in need of modernisation, the room we occupied was rather small, but suited our needs. Facilities were clean and the shower excellent Staff good and friendly, location is perfect to visit the 'Clee Hills' and Shropshire borders, a forgotten area of England but well worth a visit. Beer is from a local brewery, and was perfectly cellared and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good & well cooked. Hotel restaurant was closed, but the local Indian Restaurant 50 mtrs away provided great food.

Room was just a little small.

Had a warm welcome on arrival. Sunday lunch was great and good value. Hotel is in a great location and no issues parking (we turned up in our camper van after having two very cold nights out). Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely. Don’t come expecting The Savoy for the prices they charge but it was excellent value for money and would definitely stay here again.

Not a major issue for us, the room wasn’t serviced during our two night stay. But I know if we had needed anything we only had to ask, as the manager and staff were lovely. No food on Mondays so we went to The Spice Empire Indian restaurant opposite and highly recommend it.

The new owner / manager had just taken over the day we arrived. He was very helpful and made us feel welcome. He sorted out a query over room rate. We were happy. Great location for hill walking

A cooked breakfast would have been better but quite understand that the kitchen was closed for a deep clean. A continental breakfast was provided. Also no dinner available for same reason. Temporary problem. Pity there wasn’t a beer garden for a hot day. Found one further down high street at the Fountain inn.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Talbot Hotel. The bedroom was lovely, very quirky and the bed so comfortable. Furthermore,the staff were friendly, helpful and obliging. I would like to give a special thank you to Gregg. The breakfasts he served were delicious. He was very kind and a very hard worker. The Talbot is in a perfect location and I thought Cleobury Mortimer was beautiful in a fantastic area. I had a wonderful holiday.

Being a senior citizen, a hand rail in the bathroom would have made me feel more secure. However, the shower was superb.

Excellent value for money property. Clean pleasant modest sized rooms in a 16th century inn and very clean bathroom. Staff decent and friendly, helpful. It is a fully functioning local drinkers pub so don't expect a swanky check in desk. Have used before and will use again. Free parking in a community car park at the rear. They allow you to bring a takeaway back to the pub if you fancy food with a pint and the town has a few takeaways to choose from. Breakfast is relatively basic but does the job.

Nothing during my stay give

Emergency stay as we couldn't get 20 miles home because of flooding. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Excellent breakfast and a big thank you Craig for going and getting some soya milk for my wife's breakfast cereal. Really comfortable room and excellent value for money. Great pint of Doom Bar Beer - well 2 actually - first hardly touched the sides!! Thanks again Craig and team for such a wonderful albeit short stay and providing such welcome respite from our nightmare journey. Would recommend The Talbot without the slightest hesitation.
